    Frederic Chopin, Polish, (1810- 1849) a composer and pianist of the romantic period. He was a very shy gentleman and had stage fright. His famous pieces are delicate, subtle and a touch of melancholic. He had poor health having asthma and died of tuberculosis. Thanks for introducing his works. You play indeed marvelously.❤

    Chopin speaks to my soul in a way nobody or nothing else can. His music evokes such a wide range emotions so strongly it is overwhelming. He expresses the emotions of the human soul so vividly, from intense melancholy to ecstatic joy. Very often I experience intense shivers and often cry to his music which is quite unusual for me. Thank you Chopin for creating music which speaks so beautifully and clearly to the soul

    • @aesthetewithoutacause3981
      @aesthetewithoutacause3981 3 роки тому +21

      Exactly. It's like how people say you can find everyone human emotion in the work of Shakespeare; I think the same goes for Chopin's. Both truly wonderful at conveying what it is to be human.

      I feel ya. When I listen to good, like first class music, I get shivers, and some Chopin's pieces make me feel them on my back. Also in some parts of Chopin's music I can see Polish landscapes - like summer clouds lazily moving above fields of blooming wild flowers, small rivers flowing near woods, stuff like that, just like if I was watching a painting.

      Plus his father, Nicolas/Mikołaj was raised and served at the Polish nobleman’s court in France and then moved to Poland at the age of 16 years of age, cutting pretty much all the ties with France whatsoever and becoming a dedicated member of Polish society. So not really too much Frenchness in his father either. Not that it matters that much, just a curious fact.

  • @chopinplayedsimply
    @chopinplayedsimply Рік тому +7

    Thanks for the video! I like that you play without excessive lingering/stopping/dragging, so exactly the way Chopin played!
    As Friederike Muller (one of Chopin's piano students) said:
    "He [Chopin] required adherence to the strictest rhythm. He hated all lingering and dragging, misplaced rubatos, as well as exaggerated ritardandos... and it is just in this respect that people make such terrible mistakes in the execution of his works."
    Even in his rubato, the left hand (accompaniment) would always play in rhythm, and only the right hand (melody) would be "free" from rhythm (Franz Liszt described Chopin's rubato as a "rocking motion", "undulating to and fro", like a boat moving freely on top of the waves).
    Also, Chopin was a chamber musician and didn't like concerts too much (he even said "concerts are never real music"), but ironically his music has been "adapted" to ball-rooms and concert halls and that's what most people know as "Chopin's music" (which is completely not how Chopin actually played his music).
    Once again, thanks for the great video!

    I love Op. 28 No. 15 so much. Thanks for including it; nobody ever does, and it's maybe the most under-rated thing Chopin ever did. It really takes advantage of, and thus shows off, the strengths of the piano as an instrument.
