    Good video! Spring is here, get to that lake for some decent largemouth bass. Nice set up on your kayak and your description of your lures tossed. Looking forward to more bass action. Definitely liked the Cordell Spot and RattleTrap back in the day. Carolina Rig with nightcrawlers or live crawdads works to tag a few as well. Tight Lines!

    Can you kayak fish that whole lake now or is it just the west shore area still?Fished that lake for 47 years then moved to Florida.

    • @losangelesbfs
      @losangelesbfs  4 місяці тому

      hey John thanks for asking. You can kayak fish the whole lake. Regardless if boat or kayak, you still cant cast into the pump house. tight lines my friend 🎣

    U using a trout rod????

    • @losangelesbfs
      @losangelesbfs  11 місяців тому

      hey brotha! its more of light bass rod, but its whippy enough for trout!! its the dobyns ultra finesse 605c

  • @jasonstorms6116
    @jasonstorms6116 11 місяців тому +1

    Would you recommend the phenix or the dobyns for a BFS bass rod as far as sensitivity?

    • @losangelesbfs
      @losangelesbfs  11 місяців тому +1

      hey Jason thanks for asking. After fishing both for sometime now, i feel like the phenix is more sensitive but i would rather have it for treble hook baits because i feel it has more of a parabolic bend. the dobyns is more stout and better suited for single hook applications when setting the hook on bottom contact baits, but honestly you can use each for any style and both are great rods!! but to answer your question i pick the phenix for sensitivity

      @@losangelesbfs thanks for the quick response. Have you tried the cashion bfs yet?

    • @losangelesbfs
      @losangelesbfs  11 місяців тому

      @@jasonstorms6116 not yet, but from reviews i hear its a great mid bfs rod for topwater and crankbaits. just save the extra money and go with the dobyns…in terms of the realms of price, id rather fork over the extra 50$ and get the expride bfs over the cashion because JDM 😂

    • @jasonstorms6116
      @jasonstorms6116 11 місяців тому +1

      @@losangelesbfs which expride would be a good all around bfs rod

    • @losangelesbfs
      @losangelesbfs  11 місяців тому

      @@jasonstorms6116 6’10 would be my preference for strictly bass bfs (since i fish off a yak also i pond hop alot). its a medium/light/fast rod for single hook applications which i enjoy more (just preference). theres a 7 version and its a light bass rod, more suited for treble hook baits. in fact, the 6’10 is going to be my next purchase and im going to pair it with the aldebarren bfs 🔥
      also could i ask, what baits are you throwing?

    Why not use spinning gear??? don't get the whole BFS thing.

    • @losangelesbfs
      @losangelesbfs  11 місяців тому

      hi lawrende, thanks for the question! i like the faster ratio when retrieving lures, more line control and pickup. Somewhat more accurate casts, faster spool engage. I still have a spinning out fit and its strictly for dropshotting, Dropshotting on spinning is the best because no line over-run while waiting for lure to hit the bottom!

    • @walden6272
      @walden6272 10 місяців тому

      Sometimes fishing isn't about using what gear is easier but about fishing the way you enjoy. I used to only use spinning gear but after trying out baitcasters, I got rid of almost all my spinning tackles and go full casting gear. It's so much more fun and smooth operation especially when you have to cast a lot.
