I’m just addicted to watching RC rock crawling from out west. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina so we don’t have crawling terrain like you have. What rocks aren’t covered in dirt and dead leaves are very grippy, though. I bought a Vanquish Phoenix last week because I couldn’t stand just being a spectator anymore!
I built a Poizd and it is my go to hardline rig. It was definitely a learning curve but once you get it dialed it is a magical rig. my last weigh in was 3.9 pounds, definitely my lightest rig.
3.9?? Dude that’s crazy. I’ve heard 5ish lbs is ideal cause it gives it just enough weight to grab traction. I’m not sure how heavy this is. I don’t have a scale yet.
I am very impressed with what you have created. I'm interested in making that too. Thanks alot for making this video💯 I hope you're making more of that interesting 🛻 crawler videos
@@HobbyDrop I haven’t. But I’m wondering if the bind makes it pull a bunch of power, which makes the voltage drop below the low voltage cutoff for just a second, but then comes back on after.
Glad I found this. Cool rig and great video. I have been thinking of doing a Chopra. I will be watching for tips. Like you said, theres not a lot of info online.
I run a 850mah tattu and get roughly 45min of crawling. I’m running a 1500kv yellow jacket, silent assassin esc, 2Low, direct power rs700, reefs 99micro winch,on scx10.3 straight axles. I don’t know much about your esc but the battery cutoff might be set high. I think mine will cut off around 3.6-3.7 not sure it’s been a while since i went into the programming on it. Awesome rig, I’ve been thinking about building a coyote chassis myself since I haven’t seen anyone around me with one.
The coyote chassis is sick, you’d definitely like it, it’s similar to the reaper chassis which I love. I will convert my ascent to a coyote chassis ones I done with this poizd build probably.
@@HobbyDrop My outrunner also killed batteries faster than my fusion pro 2300kv but that in combination of outrunner/esc and 2 servos will tax your battery for sure. On my brushless 1/24 4ws I ruined a few batteries that were not high enough mah/c rating. Once I increased the mah/c rating it was fine. It would do that same thing as yours is cutting out like that, I think the voltage dips under the cutoff or something occasionally.
Hey there my friend been looking at the pound chassis was thinking about building one n BAM I saw yours n I will definitely build one now ur right is awesome luv ur videos r awesome plz help me out
Sick rig, my friend. What brass doing have coming good to see the Capra panels. Was looking at that chassis when I was at SkyRc. Put I pick up a Rock Pirates chassis. Stay safe
I’ve got the brass diff cover for the front axle coming! That will be the end of brass I can add to the portals. Rock pirate chassis is a good one to allow you to direct swap. This one not so much!
@@WandererOfTheDesert I don’t have brass in the wheels, I might look into that tho if I feel it still needs the weight. I’d like to keep the overall weight as low as possible
@@HobbyDrop very cool. Thank u for the kind words. And u will go far with that rig for sure. Again u Utah boys are so cool. Thanks again for letting us AZ boys come play on your rocks
I’m new to the revolvers too and yeah mine cuts out too making me think it’s the battery but then it’s not, I’m running a rhino 80 esc and all settings are good so I’m not sure either😂
Man sweet build. Haven’t dared chop my Capra chassis. Those crazy front biased rear divorced drive shafts killer. Custom is so fun. So is this a sporty class rig. Can you run a poizd in class 2? I always think banding front is good my sporty isn’t but…on steeps looks like might help this. I gotta get some wdw tires. Gotta try a revolver…been so addicted to fusions. That was Awsome video!!!!
Dude cutting up the Capra was so scary! Haha I’m not sure what class it would fall into, maybe sporty? It doesn’t qualify to be in our local class 3 because the chassis is more than 2 in shorter and the wheelbase….that was quite a bummer to find out.. Oh I forgot about maybe adding some deez bands! I definitely may try that. Thanks for the comment and all the support!
Sweet rig did I hear something about a parts list? I’m new to this myself but there isnt any shops…ext around me so I wach UA-cam and I’m in a few groups on Facebook so I take everything I can get
Thanks for the reply. I really like how your truck turned out. Do you know how much the cage weighs and when are you coming out with a build video? I’m very interested on the details of your build.
I’m not sure the weight. I need to get one of those cool 4 way scales. I think the ride height could definitely come down more. I haven’t messed with that too much tho. Haha come on down man! The weather and rocks are fine!
@@HobbyDrop I run stock shocks on 1 of my Capra. I removed the springs and bottom cups. Ued the oil in the shocks can't recall to what. Lowered the cg. Alot also added. Brass on all 4 corners other Capra I used traxxas big bores 2.2 badlands. Some brass. Totally different preforming. But go places they shouldn't I'd show u pics but dunno how on this platform
@@beekerbeeker5779 oh nice, so your a Capra guy through and through! Two with different setups. That’s pretty cool! Add me on Facebook-Hobbydrop. I don’t use that much unless someone is buying parts but that’s a little more user friendly ;D
I also don't like how wide the capra axles are. I was intending to do the same using positive offset wheels. Do you know the measurement from hub to outside edge? I'll be building a Yue One v2 it's on the way now, I contemplated the t3 (can still switch everything over to one pretty easily if I change my mind). I also am considering using an ar45 rear axle instead of the capra.
I’m not sure the outside of hub to outside. I’d check but getting my wheels on an off is a pain until my new tool comes in. With these wheels the nut is fully inside so I have to use little needle nose pliers to tighten em down. I haven’t heard of that chassis but if it’s an easy swap over to the poizd it much better pretty sick as well. The positive offset wheels narrow the truck quite a bit I feel, which is nice. The ar45s you almost have the opposite issue.
@@myrcjourney1149 no, it’s more of an unlimited class. Unfortunately. I was thinking it would be my class 3 rig. But the chassis doesn’t extend closer enough to the center wheels. (At least for my local comps)
Check out the description for the build breakdown as well as links!
