      @@YadVenturess Comparing Spore to Malaysia is like comparing strawberry to watermelon. Malaysia land mass is big, peninsular malaysia + malaysia borneo is much bigger than Japan or Vietnam. Dont compare a small citystate to a country as big as Japan. If you want to make comparison about Spore apple to apple, compare Spore to HK or Macau, similar in term of population and landmass and even economy etc

      Discrimination in Malaysia is not just a fact, is a law. Ask to chinese or indian ancestors malaysian people 😢. I lived there for some months. I was shocked about it. Segregation at school, at university, at hospital, everywhere. So hard to see bunch of students mixed together. Actually there is a concrete diaspora, chinese ancestors malaysian are going away if they can, some of them told me horrible situation and if you search on Google is even worse. Wake up Malaysia, you're so beautiful country with gentle people. Find a way to build up a movement of new generation of integrate people!

    Malaysia is cheaper because of the weak currency whearas in Singapore is a strong currency 3.45 ringgit to $1 Singapore. If you earn and spend in Singapore, in fact, Singapore is cheaper than Malaysia. One example, both earn the same 3k sing dollar and 3k ringgit to their respective country, you may get an iphone cost $1,399 and 4,699 ringgit, that means you only need 0.5 month to get an iphone in Singapore, and you need 1.5 month to get the same phone in Malaysia. If your country currency is strong wherever you go is cheap, whereas the currency is weak, wherever you go is expensive. 15:04

      Singapore has a higher standard of living, which means basic amenities, food, utility bills, petrol, healthcare, dental care cost more. Most Singaporean earn the Singapore dollar to spend it in Singapore, not Malaysia so the conversion rate only applies if you spend it in Malaysia. Cheap currency has its strong points, such as competitive pricing for exporting goods and being an attractive place for tourism and investments. It's the same reason why expats prefer Malaysia over Singapore because rent is extremely costly in Singapore and the same price can get you a luxurious condominium with money left to spare. Malaysia is basically Singapore at a fraction of the price

    • @YadVenturess
      @YadVenturess  Рік тому +5

      For sure the currency does play a big factor in pricing, however, Singapore besides having a fairly strong currency has extremely high prices and I would say even more then Dubai where I lived for a number of years.

    Malaysia and Singapore both have their unique charms and strengths, making it hard to choose one over the other. Personally, I think it ultimately depends on what you value most. Malaysia's diversity in culture, delicious street food, and stunning natural landscapes are a definite plus. On the other hand, Singapore's modernity, cleanliness, and efficient public transportation are hard to beat. Overall, I have to say Malaysia is the winner because of the value for money. I traveled to Malaysia last year and had an amazing time me and my family absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back. I feel like Singapore is more catered towards business people and luxury. For me it’s no contest Malaysia everyday of the week, Singapore is very small, you can pretty much see everything in 3 or 4 days, in Malaysia you need a good 4 or 5 days just to explore KL then you have places like Malacca, Ipoh, Penang, Langkawi and then the east coast and Borneo.

    A fairer comparison would be Singapore and KL. I'm Australian, so have no bias - I think the fact this guy rated SG as having better food and talked about prices means all he did in SG was hang around the downtown area and get ripped off at touristy / expat areas. Yes Singapore is more expensive than Malaysia but it's no different (in fact better value options) than the UK or Australia. Malaysia also isn't that cheap for locals who earn in ringgit.

You make a mistake eating in restaurant at Serangoon, the price targeted for tourist. If you say Msia will only cost around RM 5 to 6 that is true when you eat at local eatery. We appreciate your opinions on both Malaysia and Singapore. I guess we often have a greater appreciation for other countries, particularly when compared to the things that are unavailable or lacking in our own. In actuality, every country has a distinctive history, culture, way of life, and progress. Depending on each person's individual taste, some of them may suit some people while not all may be as appreciative. Comparing Singapore to Malaysia is similar to comparing Malaysia to Indonesia in terms of magnitude. A small country might be easier to run than a large one, and different cultures and people may have different mindsets. Sometimes learning more about a country requires more time than judging it based on its first impression.

    Comparing Singapore to Malaysia is like comparing New York with Canada. They’re really apples and oranges. That said, if you like the fast pace of an urban city and can afford the energy to hassle. Singapore might be the place for you. For diversity and possibly retirement, Malaysia would be a wonderful option in Southeast Asia.

In Malaysia, don’t just eat the awesome Malay and Indian cuisine. Go for the Chinese cuisine too. Singaporeans and Chinese mainlanders (and Hongkies) absolutely rave about it. Go for the very basic looking Chinese restaurants with lots of Chinese words. Don’t be intimidated if you don’t speak their lingo because they will know what exactly to recommend to you. Who knows, it may even change your score in favour of Malaysia (not that Malaysians care really) :)

    What is the purpose of comparison? Singapore is just a tiny country and everything there was expensive, where Malaysia is very more cheaper. Almost everyday Singaporeans cross the border coming down making a visit to Malaysia to taste 'a better life' in Malaysia. Ha ha! If you say Malaysia is diverse, Singapore is also diverse. Malaysia has Malay, Chiness, Indian, Singapore is also same. If you say Singapore is clean, Malaysia is also clean, but Singapore as a tiny country more easy to clean the whole part of the country. Ha ha! If you say Singaporean are richer than Malaysian then it is true. So, be specific with your comparison. If you say Malaysia having more attractive places, it is sure because Malaysia has 16 states (including 3 Federal Terriotary) where Singapore is just that one state. So, again, you should be specific with your comparison - on what subject?

      It's not a English conversant country, being that you'd find barriers in communication, at work & socially. But money speaks best for you.

There was American and German companies, National Semiconductor, Texas Instruments, Transicoil, etc that time. These immigrants came to S'pore and Malaya to make a living with the intention of returning to their hometowns in China, one day. These hawkers were relocated to the hawker centres in the 70s. In fact many Chinese food in M'sia have their origins in China southern provinces too. In that era, the Chinese or even indians in both S'pore and Malaya were free to travel around and could have exchanged their cooking recipes among themselves. How do you prove that all S'porean food are from yr country? I am pretty sure that there must be some created in S'pore and later got popular in M'sia and vice versa. I am sure , if it can happen today, it could happen in the past too. One example is the creation of yusheng (lo hei) , I am pretty sure it is a dish improvised from the traditional raw fish dish from China, created by the 4 heavenly chefs from a few local cantonese restaurants. I know you will argue that it is a dish created in Seremban but the restaurant does not have strong evidence. Another dish created by one of the restaurants-龙凤酒家(dragon phoenix restaurant) is the yam ring( 佛钵飘香), you can find this dish in the Malaysian menu too.

    Comparing Malaysia with this super power Singapore is like putting a M16 to a Malaysian head. Its too painful. You see Singapore and Malaysians will know how we failed badly. We fell behind so bad that we cant catch up anymore. Their 13 years old kids are s much smarter than our university graduates. And our university graduates working in Singapore as cleaners.

      During the 19th and 20th century, a significant amount of Hainanese decided to move south - which was then widely known as Nanyang (南洋) - particularly to Singapore.
      The dish came into fruition in the 1920s, by a Hainanese chef named Wang Yiyuan who was living in Singapore. It then started to gain popularity in the mid 20th century by a chef named Moh Lee Twee, a Singaporean of Hainanese descent, whose Swee Kee Chicken Rice Restaurant operated at Middle Road for five decades.
