@@YadVenturess Comparing Spore to Malaysia is like comparing strawberry to watermelon. Malaysia land mass is big, peninsular malaysia + malaysia borneo is much bigger than Japan or Vietnam. Dont compare a small citystate to a country as big as Japan. If you want to make comparison about Spore apple to apple, compare Spore to HK or Macau, similar in term of population and landmass and even economy etc
As Malaysian,I don't mind no need a comparison as long as it's ASEAN..as long we as Malaysian live happily without any discriminate towards others..modern is subjective..some of us may like modern some of us may like medium range modern or green and natural country..as Malaysian we never give a priority towards comparison..because it's us living in it
Discrimination in Malaysia is not just a fact, is a law. Ask to chinese or indian ancestors malaysian people 😢. I lived there for some months. I was shocked about it. Segregation at school, at university, at hospital, everywhere. So hard to see bunch of students mixed together. Actually there is a concrete diaspora, chinese ancestors malaysian are going away if they can, some of them told me horrible situation and if you search on Google is even worse. Wake up Malaysia, you're so beautiful country with gentle people. Find a way to build up a movement of new generation of integrate people!
Malaysia is cheaper because of the weak currency whearas in Singapore is a strong currency 3.45 ringgit to $1 Singapore. If you earn and spend in Singapore, in fact, Singapore is cheaper than Malaysia. One example, both earn the same 3k sing dollar and 3k ringgit to their respective country, you may get an iphone cost $1,399 and 4,699 ringgit, that means you only need 0.5 month to get an iphone in Singapore, and you need 1.5 month to get the same phone in Malaysia. If your country currency is strong wherever you go is cheap, whereas the currency is weak, wherever you go is expensive. 15:04
Singapore has a higher standard of living, which means basic amenities, food, utility bills, petrol, healthcare, dental care cost more. Most Singaporean earn the Singapore dollar to spend it in Singapore, not Malaysia so the conversion rate only applies if you spend it in Malaysia. Cheap currency has its strong points, such as competitive pricing for exporting goods and being an attractive place for tourism and investments. It's the same reason why expats prefer Malaysia over Singapore because rent is extremely costly in Singapore and the same price can get you a luxurious condominium with money left to spare. Malaysia is basically Singapore at a fraction of the price
For sure the currency does play a big factor in pricing, however, Singapore besides having a fairly strong currency has extremely high prices and I would say even more then Dubai where I lived for a number of years.
thats what u get in a small country. You cant expect singapore to excel in everything considering its also 3 times smaller than johor@@markzzzzberg1312
Singapore had never challenge any nations. Just to catch up to development to make a living. Without resources, we need to work harder and under pressure, we forced to think further. And humbly connect with other like minded to enhance linkage for better diplomacy. That all, so simple 😄
Great video and nicely delivered 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I have visited both, have been to KL, Borneo and 41x trips to Singapore, I appreciate each one for their various qualities but if I had to pick one it would be Singapore, mainly for its cleanliness and feeling of safety plus probably the best and most efficient airline and airport in the world ☺️

I came back from a trip to Malaysia yesterday. I was disappointed with the food taste, quantity and hygiene. When Ithe coach arrived at Grantal Mall my stomach started to crave for good food. There was even a live music at the mass food court.
The food are not only centered in kuala lumpur & penang its all over malaysia while singapore only in small island & with the money you pay it doesnt make sense sungapore wins this category.
ONLY malaysian say malaysian food is good...but most tourists always say go Singapore eat bk kut teh/laksa/nasi lemak...etc Never heard anyone praising or go malaysian for food, too oily & sweet...haha!
Wow! You made a very big mistake by saying you love Singaporean food more! Because malaysians don’t like others praising Singaporean food at all! And you can’t even mention Singaporean food too!
Cos that’s the only thing that is subjective. They can’t beat SG in anything, so they said they beat us in food. Actually, I think their food is too oily and unhealthy.
Malaysia and Singapore both have their unique charms and strengths, making it hard to choose one over the other. Personally, I think it ultimately depends on what you value most. Malaysia's diversity in culture, delicious street food, and stunning natural landscapes are a definite plus. On the other hand, Singapore's modernity, cleanliness, and efficient public transportation are hard to beat. Overall, I have to say Malaysia is the winner because of the value for money. I traveled to Malaysia last year and had an amazing time me and my family absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back. I feel like Singapore is more catered towards business people and luxury. Loved this comparison, i cant wait for your next video!
Malaysia’s RapidKL system is pretty good I found but also Grab is soooo cheap, can get almost anywhere around KL for less than $10 AUD. For me it’s no contest Malaysia everyday of the week, Singapore is very small, you can pretty much see everything in 3 or 4 days, in Malaysia you need a good 4 or 5 days just to explore KL then you have places like Malacca, Ipoh, Penang, Langkawi and then the east coast and Borneo.
A fairer comparison would be Singapore and KL. I'm Australian, so have no bias - I think the fact this guy rated SG as having better food and talked about prices means all he did in SG was hang around the downtown area and get ripped off at touristy / expat areas. Yes Singapore is more expensive than Malaysia but it's no different (in fact better value options) than the UK or Australia. Malaysia also isn't that cheap for locals who earn in ringgit.
Which country is better, it all depends on how you look at it and from which angle you assess the two countries. Malaysia is far more affordable than Singapore. The majority Malaysian consisted of plural society and Singapore are mostly consisted of singular society. In terms of value for your money, Malaysia is a clear winner.
@@YadVenturess I'm just glad that both of you guys have had a good time in Malaysia and Singapore. I think both countries would welcome you back, anytime. 😄
Of course u can’t compare but it’s NOT due to the size, is more because Malaysia is still developing country been behind Singapore for decades & Singapore is a HIGHLY developed country, most developed in asia, even Japan & S. Korea behind Singapore too. U can Google & find out the facts yourself.❤

Liar. Go to golden mile hawker, east coast lagoon hawker. Old airport rd. You have to look for the good stalls that are run by old local uncle and aunties. If u eat at any random hawker or stall, Expect lousy food since these stalls are run by malaysians who come here to work. @@markzzzzberg1312

I think you are bias on your comparison and the score is not necessary. Msia cheap for you because of their low rate currency. Who don't love that!? Msia have a lot of places to visit because they are big country with many states. That can't be compare to tiny island of Spore. You make a mistake eating in restaurant at Serangoon, the price targeted for tourist. If you say Msia will only cost around RM 5 to 6 that is true when you eat at local eatery. If you were to eat at Spore food court, it will be $8 to 9. A bit costly but still affordable and better, right? Peace.
I see it rude to say bias. I’m watching from London our guy here talks honestly, it’s his right to say what he felt and experience. Every body says Singapore is more expensive. He even said nicely, if anyone know a better or cheaper place leave a comment below. ❤❤❤❤
Singapore has both nature and the city. You should go trekking at Sungei Buloh Nature reserve, botanical gardens, southern ridges, macritchie reservoir, pulau ubin, sister's island etc. We got nature too! To me, it is unfair to compare 2 countries of very different sizes. Singapore is a city state, while Malaysia has multiple cities spanning over 2 considerable land size, 1 in the west side and the other is on Borneo island. Of course Malaysia would have much much more land size for nature

True. How on earth can singapore have a natural scenery😂. Should compare singapore with a developed city like kuala lumpur which is the same size than people would see singapore is trying to make the country greener n has more parks😂
Well it's like comparing an orange and an apple. I'm a Singaporean and of course I would say my own country is better but of course, we Singaporeans also loves visiting Malaysia

As a Singaporean, a meal usually costs about 8-15SGD in normal restaurants. Of course u can get them way cheaper at hawker centres and coffee shops. It's the more high end restaurants that has food that costs more than $15. We have parks, resevoirs and islands here u may not have seen before but because Malaysia's bigger and we are indeed a city their nature beats us. Land sizes matter so I can't say a Malaysia v Singapore argument is always valid

We appreciate your opinions on both Malaysia and Singapore. I guess we often have a greater appreciation for other countries, particularly when compared to the things that are unavailable or lacking in our own. In actuality, every country has a distinctive history, culture, way of life, and progress. Depending on each person's individual taste, some of them may suit some people while not all may be as appreciative. Comparing Singapore to Malaysia is similar to comparing Malaysia to Indonesia in terms of magnitude. A small country might be easier to run than a large one, and different cultures and people may have different mindsets. Sometimes learning more about a country requires more time than judging it based on its first impression.
cant really compare both country due to the size and the natural resources between them. as for food its a personal preference but i enjoyed the creativity and variety of Malaysian food
Comparing Singapore to Malaysia is like comparing New York with Canada. They’re really apples and oranges. That said, if you like the fast pace of an urban city and can afford the energy to hassle. Singapore might be the place for you. For diversity and possibly retirement, Malaysia would be a wonderful option in Southeast Asia.
@josephmanzuni8593 I dunno in terms of living I've heard their work life balance is appalling plus their suicide rates are very high their is open discrimination to people not 100% Japanese in the work place, people not expressing their true feelings etc but correct me if I'm wrong this is just what I've heard and read

In regards to chinese food you noticed Malayaia more authentic they cooked with the bones in the fish meat etc. They removed the bones in Sigapore you can just chew your way through....so in Malaysia like life eat slow...singapore eat and rush it
Bro, you got them right except … … the food. The type of essentially Chinese dishes you like in Singapore - well, the Singaporeans actually kowtow to Malaysia for way better tasting versions. In Malaysia, don’t just eat the awesome Malay and Indian cuisine. Go for the Chinese cuisine too. Singaporeans and Chinese mainlanders (and Hongkies) absolutely rave about it. Go for the very basic looking Chinese restaurants with lots of Chinese words. Don’t be intimidated if you don’t speak their lingo because they will know what exactly to recommend to you. Who knows, it may even change your score in favour of Malaysia (not that Malaysians care really) :)
I beg to differ. Singapore actually does some of the Chinese dishes better. Also, some dishes may have the same name but are entirely different dishes between both countries like Bak Kut Teh & Hokkien Mee for etc.
@@KeoNz agree. SG Bak Kut Teh is totally different from Malaysian. They are different dishes that share the same name. I dun know why Malaysians keep accusing us of stealing their BKT.
We, Malaysian, really don't mind...infact we prefer to be unlis🎉ted and not much publicized to the world. We see the potential of continuous unhealthy responses from the internet audience especially with the Southeast Asian audience mainly those of strong blunt patriotism. Those whose easily got stirred in their nationalistic spirits. You'd see flows of continuous negative reactions that do not engage in diversity and appreciation for harmonious existence. We are simple people, do not need world acknowledgement...give it to others. We prefer to be low profile. Welcome to Malaysian for all genuine world travelers. ❤
Are you sure? Did you try to open an account in Sg with “ huge” sum of money? If you are Malaysian, I doubt so. A salaried Malaysian can hardly a save 1 million SGD in your lifetime. 😂. I am a Singaporean, I tried to open a FD at HSBC SG yesterday, I have to spend one hour answering questions. You are a Malaysian who just talked garbage. I dun think you even have 100 K sgd . 😆.
😂. I dun believe you have huge sums of money to park in Sg if you are Malaysian. I just open a savings account yesterday min 2k sgd, I have to do 1 hour kyc with the bank. U obviously never open account in Sg. Liar.
Agree, we shouldn't compare. Only to arouse unnecessary sentiments and tension. Each country has their positives and negatives, even in First World countries like US and Europe.
What is the purpose of comparison? Singapore is just a tiny country and everything there was expensive, where Malaysia is very more cheaper. Almost everyday Singaporeans cross the border coming down making a visit to Malaysia to taste 'a better life' in Malaysia. Ha ha! If you say Malaysia is diverse, Singapore is also diverse. Malaysia has Malay, Chiness, Indian, Singapore is also same. If you say Singapore is clean, Malaysia is also clean, but Singapore as a tiny country more easy to clean the whole part of the country. Ha ha! If you say Singaporean are richer than Malaysian then it is true. So, be specific with your comparison. If you say Malaysia having more attractive places, it is sure because Malaysia has 16 states (including 3 Federal Terriotary) where Singapore is just that one state. So, again, you should be specific with your comparison - on what subject?
Malaysia and Singapore is too general. Better specify which city. Just Like Kota Kinabalu vs Singapore or KL vs Sg.. Because Malaysia have 2 part, west/peninsular and East/North Borneo.
It depends how you look at it, as most people visit all types of places when visiting countries, travellers don’t stay in one city they typically travel around so it’s good to cover main cities and some of the surrounding areas.
Regardless of what the video is about, am I the only person who is confused by Marina Bay vs. Petronas comparison? Both countries are so much larger than that
You don’t compare Singapore with Malaysia. Singapore may be bigger than Kuala Lumpur, but Kuala Lumpur and the state of Selangor are much better than Singapore. There is no way that Singapore is better than Malaysia.
Malaysia got a lot of subsidies. Government hospital is cheap. RM1 doctor fee, which include MRI, X-Ray, and medication 3 months. Cooking oil also subsidy RM2.70 for 1kg. Petrol also subsidize no matter how expensive the oil price. Most car parks are free, unless city or cbd area.

In comparing SG with MY one must take into account a fundamental ground. The former is a city-state with no country to speak of, the latter is a conventional country-state. Hence nature or cost must be based on a different perspective. One is an advanced, orderly, clean, safe….. place, while the other is not. In short it is just an apple-orange comparison!
Be specific, Bukit Bintang vs Orchard Rd, KL Bird Park vs SG Bird Paradise, for instance. Or try to do a walking or cycling tour in KL, or needless to say anymore. Even for nature you should compare on the basis of a city. You will marvel the amount and accessibility of nature in SG. Value for money must be judged on whether for the same price you can get the same quality or level of experience.

Actually the version of Hainanese Chicken rice you get in Singapore is originally from Ipoh in Malaysia. Although Hainanese Chicken rice by itself is available even in Thailand and Indonesia, as it originates from China and not Southeast Asia.
I'm Thai and we have our own version of the chicken rice too, but I think the Malaysian version is extremely tasty. Much better than the Singapore version.
During the 19th and 20th century, a significant amount of Hainanese decided to move south - which was then widely known as Nanyang (南洋) - particularly to Singapore. The dish came into fruition in the 1920s, by a Hainanese chef named Wang Yiyuan who was living in Singapore. It then started to gain popularity in the mid 20th century by a chef named Moh Lee Twee, a Singaporean of Hainanese descent, whose Swee Kee Chicken Rice Restaurant operated at Middle Road for five decades.
Yad, hainanese chicken rice is inspired from hainan island China. Malaysia too has hainan people. In fact we have many dialects like cantonese, hakka, teochew, hainan, fuchow, hokkien etc etc
There’s no such things called “hainanese chicken rice” in China Hainan just purely called Wen Chong chicken or direct translation Wen chang chicken, that’s it ! The rice they serve are pure plain white rice with no fragrance added nor typical chili serve only garlic sesame oil

How many times do you buy an iphone in a year? 😂 Adoiii
@shakirjamaludin5302 That is one example.
It is wrong because a 3k job in Singapore is a 6k+ job or more than twice in Malaysia, but SGD still 3.5 times more than MYR though.
Singapore has nature too but because the size is small you cannot beat borneo. Nature in borneo is world class.

Definitely Malaysia. Both countries have plenty to offer, however, Malaysia has a strong edge with its affordability and its value for money. 😄
Long term as living, business hub better in KL, tourism also for sure.
I came back from a trip to Malaysia yesterday. I was disappointed with the food taste, quantity and hygiene. When Ithe coach arrived at Grantal Mall my stomach started to crave for good food. There was even a live music at the mass food court.
Singapore for sure

Singapore won food category? Yes if you consider high end/hotel food and Michelin star.. In terms of taste and authenticity, M'sia win hands down..
I have to say this is so true
The food are not only centered in kuala lumpur & penang its all over malaysia while singapore only in small island & with the money you pay it doesnt make sense sungapore wins this category.
Don’t forget, Singapore cook is from Malaysia. So if it doesn’t taste so good in Singapore, you know why:)

You are the mistake.

Thank you for sharing your insightful thoughts Mark!
Thank you for this video. Both countries, Malaysia and Singapore are beautiful.
Which country is better, it all depends on how you look at it and from which angle you assess the two countries. Malaysia is far more affordable than Singapore. The majority Malaysian consisted of plural society and Singapore are mostly consisted of singular society. In terms of value for your money, Malaysia is a clear winner.

Mainland Chinese and HKers in general do not find Chinese food in Southeast Asia great. Malaysians are quite delusional.

Looks like you haven't visit Singapore natures.Should visit when you visit Singapore again.
Ah yes a comparison video, the most hated topic for most malaysian.
Singapore is a city state and a country so it counts

Both countries are beautiful, visit both again n explore n enjoy our cultres😊
Definitely!!
You can tour Singapore in a day by bicycle
Yes! I've previously done that its great
Look , As a Malaysia we dont need to compare with Singapore. Literally u can cycling to Singapore if u want to. Singapore are more Chinese and Malaysia are more Malay(Muslim), thats it!
You cant even compare the nature between malaysia who have the best diving site in the world in sipadan & the oldest rainforest in the world in Belum rainforest.
You should actually be going to differparts of Malaysia ie; Penang, melacca, KL, Johore, Desaru, then compare to Singapore.
Hopefully i will be this year ❤

Penang, melacca and Johore are small towns. Can’t compare with SG.

You mentioned Hainanese Chicken Rice
It is not Singaporean it is Hainan (an island of China)
S'pore was a British colony from 1824 to 1963. S'pore, together with Sabah & Sarawak joined Malaya to form the federation of Malaysia. The hainanese chicken rice was created by a Chinese immigrant in S'pore but I am sure the recipe of this dish today might not be exactly the same.

For signing the treaty, the sultan received 33,200 Spanish dollars and a monthly allowance of 1,300 Spanish dollars for life, while the temenggong received a monthly stipend of 700 Spanish dollars in addition to a lump sum of 26,800 Spanish dollars.6 The sultan and temenggong agreed to maintain free trade in their possessions and were forbidden to have any correspondence with foreigners without the EIC’s permission.

@@TheMan-xp4cb S'pore did not appear suddenly in 1965. In the 20s, there were already many Chinese immigrants selling food on the streets. These immigrants came to S'pore and Malaya to make a living with the intention of returning to their hometowns in China, one day. These hawkers were relocated to the hawker centres in the 70s. In fact many Chinese food in M'sia have their origins in China southern provinces too. In that era, the Chinese or even indians in both S'pore and Malaya were free to travel around and could have exchanged their cooking recipes among themselves. How do you prove that all S'porean food are from yr country? I am pretty sure that there must be some created in S'pore and later got popular in M'sia and vice versa. I am sure , if it can happen today, it could happen in the past too. One example is the creation of yusheng (lo hei) , I am pretty sure it is a dish improvised from the traditional raw fish dish from China, created by the 4 heavenly chefs from a few local cantonese restaurants. I know you will argue that it is a dish created in Seremban but the restaurant does not have strong evidence. Another dish created by one of the restaurants-龙凤酒家(dragon phoenix restaurant) is the yam ring( 佛钵飘香), you can find this dish in the Malaysian menu too.

S'pore became a British colony in 1824.
@kaiserlow652 yes the Anglo Dutch agreement
Evidence suggests that a significant trading settlement existed on the S'pore island in the 14th century. The last ruler of the Kingdom of Singapura, Parameswara, was expelled by the Majapahit or the Siamese before he founded Malacca.
