I completely agree! I didn't know before going in how vast the area was so I was taken by surprise as I thought it was just a 'regular park' so when I was in there I completely agreed with the entrance fee as it needs that protection!
@@tommy-boy our agricultural R&D (MARDI) has introduced many Malaysia specific variants of durian, the more expensive ones aren't as meaty in texture, but more custardy or creamy, I suggest D24 to start, then red prawn, while musang king and black thorn are the most expensive ones.

Good advise. Whenever I travel I bring almost all of the above including my First-Aid kit bag. I take it everywhere with me. While hiking in the wilderness of California mountains and desert, I would also bring a snake suction kit with me. It allows me to get the venom out should I get bitten by a snake. I bring this with me to Malaysia as well. I use it to suck out the "poison" (lack of a better word) from all the mosquito bites. After that, it stop itching within minutes and I don't have to use any insect numbing sticks. I still bring a numbing stick with me but rarely need to use them simply because the snake suction kit is that effective.
@RofieeTwo Excellent preparation indeed! Luckily in KL , there is very little snakes around except for some pythons sneaking in from the secondary forest to catch some rats or the very small black snakes that can found near some bushes in the fringes of the suburbia near KL! I was somewhat captivated by your stunning videography and colorful scenes. I had to stop watching the video and look at your name and description, only to find out that you are an "Artist On Tour". Then it all made a lot of sense. I have been watching quite a few Malaysian travel videos and because of that, Google's UA-cam algorithm has been recommending more and more of Malaysian video "knowing" that I enjoyed it. Of the many videos I have seen so far, yours is the most visually pleasing. Narration and history is also very appropriate to the video. I would tone down on the color saturation boost of your videos. Nice to bring out the vibrant color but not too much. As one of your commenters were saying, probably good idea to tone down the video of you talking and instead focus more on the scenery. Pronunciation: I love your impeccable pronunciation of "Laksa" and especially "Rendang" - spot on! Only later, I realized that you have been to many places in Indonesia. Durian: A few decades ago, I found the best description of Durian which I totally agreed upon. It taste like Vanilla custard! To me, that is exactly what it tasted like. My advise for first time durian eater is not to talk so much about it, and do NOT smell it first. It is best to just eat it and let your nose adapt to it later. Your nose will adapt. This is how I taught my Ukrainian-born wife on how to eat the durian. She took a bite and loved it. I did told her about the Vanilla custard first. You have to psych the person up first. She fell in-love with it on the first bite. Now, whenever we travel to Malaysia, we would go durian hunting - that is a must. Bloody thing is addictive!
Thank you very much, that's very kind of you to say! I enjoy the creative aspect of it, it fits in with my love of drawing. I am always trying different things with my videos so I'll take on board what you're saying. I appreciate that you think my pronunciation is okay! And yes Durian is very unique, I've still never had anything like it! I get the consistency of custard but I've never been able to say what the flavour is! But it's definitely something everyone has to try!
Tips for eating m, try the milder one first such as durian kampung or D24. Then move to red prawn, 101 (IOI) then and only then black thorn and musang king... If you prefer slight alcoholic taste try also the XO variety.
Thank you very much! It really is, it is beautiful! You don't often get a mix of modern with jungle in cities as unfortunately, the jungles normally make way for the new buildings! But Kuala Lumpur is different which is amazing!
Welcome Tommy... U r in Malaysia now... used the spoon to scopp ur rice... why bother to use fork... heheheheh try our ways and enjoy ur stay here...😁😁😁😁😁😁 U also must try eating rice with ur right hand ok! 😃😃😃😃

bro, malaysia durian is the best one, please tell the stall owner, how you prefer to taste. either you want to it creamy, bitter, sweet.. they can find the most suitable one for you.
Malaysian weather is always warm and humid. Ditch the heavy jacket. Go for loose, light cotton clothes. Despite what you might be led to believe, you can wear shorts and sleeveless shirts, especially in major cities. You will need trousers and shirt with sleeves if plan to visit temples and mosques. Bring a light jacket as some places set their air conditioner to "arctic". A hat and umbrella or raincoat would be wise. Just buy them when you arrive. Sunscreen is essential, but you can get all major brands in Malaysia. Only pack sunscreen if you are using a uncommon or otherwise less popular brand.
Welcome to the under-rated Malaysia 🇲🇾, a chill and laid back country. Kuala Lumpur city is a city of contrast, still developing, a city that never sleeps 👍🇲🇾🌺😎
Thank you very much! It really is, the contrasts make it so interesting, there are not many cities like it at all! If it keeps developing so well, I can't wait to see what it is like in future! (as long as they maintain the green areas which I'm sure they will)
100%! I completely agree, I didn't realise before going in how big the area was! I thought it was a 'regular park', that's why I was surprised. I never want to read too much before visiting as I want the actual experience when I'm there. When I got inside I quickly realised that it was definitely worth the fee, it was an amazing place!
Go early in the morning, just when the sun rises. Cool air and long walk in. If you take the route behind Masjid Jamek and walk towards Bird Park, you can experience the jungle feel and sound of running creek. The map of Botanical Garden shows other trails as well. Hv an enjoyable and blessed New Year in Malaysia.
It's not common at all, not to that level anyway, it's a huge area of forest. Most capital cities are so built up that there is no space for forest anymore!
2:35 You are describing Malaysia with background music of Japanese instrument😅😅. Maybe you can use this suggestion “Pucuk Pinang Instrumental Asli” as soundtrack and or just search “Instrumental Asli Melayu”
In malaysia at the moment from sydney...good spot for local.food is Kamung baru then walk through the saloma bridge and get a great view for the twin towers....
you really must learn our way of eating rice with a spoon...and fork...but trying to pick up rice with a fork just doesnt give u a good bite 😅....better still why not learn to eat with your hands...right hand only pls...once pass the ahkward start you will realise how hearty a simple meal can be just because we use the hand...❤
Definitely! I travel to so many different countries with different eating styles, I forget which way to do it in each place! 😂 in my country, we always use a fork for rice! Yes I will definitely try that in future, I'm always happy to do whatever the locals do!
@@tommy-boy eating rice with fork are quite "acceptable" for western meal but surely not for Asians rice meals. Why? Because the concept is mixed multiple dishes into your spoon or hand then you eat it together in one shot.. Some with gravy that is means to mixed with the rice that is flavourful. That way, you will enjoy the True taste of Asians cuisines with rice. Trust me, same dishes different way of eating will give you different perspectives and enjoyment for sure. As simple as we didnt eat burger in a separate manner but all in one in one huge bite 😅
@@alleymittanderson5799 In my country, the UK, we use a fork for everything, including rice meals! So sometimes I revert back to my natural fork use 😂 but yes of course everywhere I go, I prefer to do as the locals do! so in future I'll try to remember!
@@tommy-boy I had no idea or probably forgot that they eat rice with a fork in the UK. I went to secondary school in Farnborough (Hampshire county). Folks here in the U.S. eat their rice with forks as well. I certainly like the Malaysian style better, as it makes a lot of sense. Most rice dishes comes with some sort of gravy or could be soupy. You can't scoop that with a fork and rice grains will go right through a fork. So, eating with a spoon tend to be my favorite way of eating rice dishes.
@@RofieeTwo We use a spoon if its actual soup, but if it's a saucy meal with rice, we still mix them together and use a fork most of the time! I do completely understand using a spoon, I just often revert to what I've been used to without even thinking.

@@nutzhazel Exactly! I absolutely love the greens, that's what I love about tropical countries! Yes I understand that, traffic jams aren't ideal in any big city!
Yes, it was explained previously that no offence was meant, nothing I say is scripted and is all completely in the moment so it was simply misplaced words
I didn't expect just how green it would be inside a huge city! I expected the modern buildings and colour but all combined together, it was so clean, modern and very well taken care of. It's a really nice city!
@@tommy-boy 😊 yeah.. Most cities will squeeze in anything like building, facilities or whatsoever leaving not a single trees let alone a huge green park.
What so special about the tall buildings, ? You can see them also in Bangkok, Jarkata, Manila and. etc.., the only special in Malaysia is the multi racial society,

It's an acquired taste. After a few tries, you would love durian. 😋

Try to go to Aquaria Klcc. It has a huge underground tunnel.
That sounds cool, I'll try and check that out thank you!
Bukit Nanas is Malaysia oldest forest conservation, > 100 years now
Amazing, I didn't expect it at all so it was a very happy surprise for me, it's a beautiful place!
Tips for eating m, try the milder one first such as durian kampung or D24. Then move to red prawn, 101 (IOI) then and only then black thorn and musang king... If you prefer slight alcoholic taste try also the XO variety.
Thank you very the tips! I'm very intrigued by the differences so it sounds great!
Welcome to Msia.Msia is truly asia.Msia is a modern country in the lush of jungle everywhere😅
Thank you very much! It really is, it is beautiful! You don't often get a mix of modern with jungle in cities as unfortunately, the jungles normally make way for the new buildings! But Kuala Lumpur is different which is amazing!
Welcome
Hope u like it here
Thank you very much! It's absolutely beautiful, I knew it would be great, but I'm really impressed with how nice it is!🙌
Lets come living in Malaysia 🎉
Amazing country, I am so impressed with how nice KL is!

do visit the portugeuse st peter church in melaka as a hidden gem, apart from the main dutch area, not to be confused with st paul church on the hill
Great, thank you! I love the hidden gems!
@tommy-boy it's the oldest functioning church in the country, as well as Singapore and Thailand. Full of history and way more beautiful compared to the red church at the town center. bro, malaysia durian is the best one, please tell the stall owner, how you prefer to taste. either you want to it creamy, bitter, sweet.. they can find the most suitable one for you.
perfect, I've only had the Filipino durian so I'm very intrigued by the difference with the Malaysian one! Thank you!
I need advise, I am travelling to Malaysia this Jan, so is it cold or how is tge climate, should I pack heavy jackets or Umbrella?
I would always have an umbrella with you! Some locals would be better advising you on the weather however, it will certainly be warm though
Ha, the clouds are following you throughout Asia
I know I can't escape them!😂
Welcome to the under-rated Malaysia 🇲🇾, a chill and laid back country. Kuala Lumpur city is a city of contrast, still developing, a city that never sleeps 👍🇲🇾🌺😎

100%! I completely agree, I didn't realise before going in how big the area was! I thought it was a 'regular park', that's why I was surprised. It's not common at all, not to that level anyway, it's a huge area of forest. Most capital cities are so built up that there is no space for forest anymore!
If you love nature, go visit borneo

you really must learn our way of eating rice with a spoon...and fork...but trying to pick up rice with a fork just doesnt give u a good bite 😅....better still why not learn to eat with your hands...right hand only pls...once pass the ahkward start you will realise how hearty a simple meal can be just because we use the hand...❤
