I am Malaysian, and I have interacted with numerous Singaporeans. Interestingly, I haven't encountered any who have come across as arrogant or rude. On the contrary, they have left me with the impression of being courteous and amiable individuals. Curiously, some people have told me that I can come across as arrogant at times, and this perception of mine might contribute to how I view them as unlikely to be rude or arrogant. In a way, my own higher level of arrogance might lead me to interpret their behavior as more polite due to this contrast in levels of arrogance. Does it make sense? Anyway, I firmly believe that Singaporeans are not inherently arrogant; rather, they exhibit a trait associated with a high-stress society, which emanates from the fast-paced and demanding environment in Singapore. This trait is often misconstrued by others as arrogance.

The Chinese don't play in your face games like Malays, they use their power over money and finance to screw you over lol. As a chinaman myself I've noticed the Chinese tend to have very "semitic" way of going about things which might make money, but greatly damage the trust they have with other races

My close encounter with a Malaysian Malay. I am a Singaporean Malay, I travelled to KL on business trips every month, this happened in 1982/83. I was once approached by a stranger, a middle-aged man at the KL railway station, I guess he must be illiterate not being able to read the sign when he asked me in Malay for some directions. When I said I am unsure, he asked again where I am from? The moment I said I am from Singapore, he stepped forward towards me and suddenly placed his thumb violently in the middle of his palm and twisted it deep in front of my face and said “Engkau semua orang Melayu Singapura dah telungkup kena tindas! Habis semua masjid dah kena roboh!” (all you Singaporean Malays have been oppressed and useless, all your mosques have been demolished and gone!)”.
It's been many years but the words he said & how he said it is still ringing in my ears, in that condescending & insulting tone. The words I put here are his exact ones because I will always remember it till today.
When I asked who told him that and has he ever been to Singapore to witness it, he answered sarcastically “Saya dengar banyak orang cakap, saya belum pernah pergi Singapura dan tak mahu pergi (I heard many people saying it and I hasn't been to Singapore but don’t ever wished to go)”. I explained that we brought down the old mosque to rebuild new ones, and I said we have this Tabung Masjid (Mosque Fund) contributed by all Singapore Muslims to build and rebuild or upgrade the old ones. While talking to him I can’t help but unconsciously glimpsed at the nearby Mosque in my view. Then I pointed to him that Mosque to him - it happened to be the Masjid Negara (Malaysian National Mosque) which is just next to the Station where I was standing and asked him in Malay, “That Mosque there - who build that one?” “That money from where?” He said that his Government builds it from their taxes money, I asked, “Is the taxes also from Genting Casino? Also the Bukit Bintang area where all the bars and prostitutes dens are and massage parlours? As during that time in the 80s’ those places were famously known to be there. He said it must be and he then started to curse and swear at his own Govt! He realised then where the taxes money comes from and finally he said he will visit Singapore to see what I’ve said were true. I told that the first thing he will see coming in from the Causeway is the “Menara Mesjid” (minarets of the mosque) in Woodlands the moment he crosses into Singapore … I then said Salam and left him.
I left feeling very disappointed that we Malays are supposed to love one another no matter in which continent we are, and here, this whom I considered a matured & elderly man having these violent feelings and hatred for a neighbouring kin.
What I learn from this episode is I think many Malaysian Malays especially those from the rural areas have not visited Singapore - and hated us for just being in Singapore. It is like a presumptious blind leading the ignorant blind & it goes on. I frequently read the comments on UA-cam when there are issues on Singapore, and it’s always the Malaysian Malays (because their comments are in Malay) condemning the Singapore Malays.
I can’t help but see the vast difference between us.
I wish the Malaysian Malays would come and visit and see for themselves or maybe find a job here in Singapore, because those who have been often stayed. Look at your other races who are working here, they came without prejudice or hatred, that even security guards (Pegawai Keselamatan) can own bungalow houses and new cars (some not just one but two or three) in Malaysia with the salary they earn here. Imagine - a security guard gets about S$3,000 per month with overtime - that works to almost RM10,000. Imagine again, wife & husband working, because there are those couples working together here. Now, that’ll be …. Let’s see, not just bungalows & cars but money coming out of their ears.

Some Singaporeans in Malaysia, JB especially, don't behave well such as littering from their Singapore cars, a Singaporean father telling his son who wanted to close the water tap in a public toilet to ignore that as wasting water in Malaysia is fine, and driving with high beam at night in JB city are among the examples I faced personally.

As a Singaporean, one thing you have to learn and do is, to respect people’s country regardless if it’s to your liking or not. If you don’t like their lifestyle and habits, can just go elsewhere.
Whatever that you cannot do in Singapore (behavior wise), don’t do it overseas either. There’s a reason why it’s called bad habits. This is basic manners and common sense.
Our currency is strong, but definitely not the best in the entire world, so don’t look down on others just because of the vast difference in currency rates. Just enjoy and love the country in terms of culture, food, and being friendly towards one another (unless they’re being rude first). Like that very hard meh? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

As in any countries there are always some bad apples either in Singapore or Malaysia, however Singapore always comparing the whole country of Malaysia with their tiny island which is a bit unfair lah, moreover they always comparing to Johor Bahru or nearby. Imagine, Malaysia just same size of Singapore e.g. KL or Putrajaya, surely at par or not that far behind from their city state country. Amongst the South Asean Countries, Singapore and Malaysia has the strongest ties. What I am not happy is the difficulty of Msian or Singaporean entering the other country. Both countries should have a very seamless and easy system for a person to move between the two countries. It should be as easy entering or exiting Vatican city or a European citizen to move from one EU country to another EU country.
We should be a leading example for other ASEAN countries to follow.
