Thanks so much, Ellis! This one was fun to make and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for stopping by and as always, for your very kind words. Hope you have a nice weekennd. :)
something wicked was one of my favorite books of the year so far! i loved how you could tell how much fun ray bradbury had while he was writing, and how much effort and care went into each sentence. and charles was such a lovable character, and i love how he kinda becomes the hero and main character at the end. thanks so much for another vlog, i really do love these videos haha. we're losing the fall colors over here too, and i feel the same way.
Thanks so much, Matt! I'm glad you enjoy the vlogs! It must be nice to have a little extended fall down there compared to up here in NY. Oh, that's great that you also read and loved Something Wicked this year! It's definitely a new all-time favorite for me too. It was so unique (both the writing and the story itself) and I feel like I could picture everything so vividly. Charles was great, I love that he found his own power in the end, it was such a satisfying arc. Thank you again for watching and for your really kind words, I appreciate it!
@@LiterateTexan Aw, thank you so much Randy, that’s so nice of you to say! It was wonderful to meet you on Jim’s live show today too. Hope you have a good rest of your weekend :)

What a great video! I love your videos so much! You have an amazing variety in your reading. The beginning of the video made me want to grab my Mickey Mouse mug and head over to your house for some hot tea and fun conversation. Our leaves have recently started to "shed" as well - briefly, they make a beautiful carpet on the ground until they blow away or get cleaned up. The world looks a little stark without them, but they will be back. To everything there is a season. Wishing you a wonderful November.
@@BeyondBooks-wt5il Thank you so much Reney! Oh, that would be so fun if you came over to chat about our books and we could clink our Disney mugs together for a book cheers 😄. I hope you enjoy the rest of the fall colors down there in VA and maybe you’ll even see a little snow again this year for the holidays!
@@AaronReadABook it was so campy and funny, but a good mix of spider creepiness. I couldn’t stop laughing over the image of them running around town in their smeared clown makeup and costumes trying to save everyone from the spiders 🤡
Love your vlogs Farrah! The drone footage is amazing! My husband hates baseball so there is no way our son could have played but I was a catcher in my young years… 🙂
Thank you, Julie! That's fun you were a catcher! It's my favorite position to watch and my daughter is also a catcher :). Softball is pretty fun to watch, it just feels like the games last forever :D
Hah! Clowns vs Spiders was about the last thing I expected out of your mouth at the start 😄 gave me a chuckle. I have heard good things about Jeff Strand tho. Wow I love the starlings? Going crazy, their flight clusters always amaze me. Man you really sold Something Wicked, though I loved Dandelion Wine and know I need to continue on! Too many books too little time.
Haha, I never would've tried that Clown book if it wasn't for Cliff's group read and it ended up being so much fun! I would definitely read more by Jeff Strand. :) Yes, I think they were starlings and I love seeing their flight patterns too. So amazing how they don't all crash into each other. :D I will definitely give Dandelion Wine a try and I hope you like Something Wicked. I was so surprised by how much I liked it :)
@@grace_silva haha thanks Grace! Yeah, I usually make a little video for the parents too 😂 it was such a nice Halloween; it was about 70 degrees outside and it was so nice not to be freezing!! Hope you guys had a good Halloween too :). Did you make it any of the Horror Nights?
Well, you captured the whole fall Halloween "Something Wicked This Way Comes" vibe in this vlog. Great drone footage, too. Glad you liked Something Wicked, now you can watch my reaction video on the movie Something Wicked. I assume you've probably watched it like 5X now since it's the only reaction video for the movie on UA-cam. I might read it again next fall if I can get a group together and then discuss it. I have one book left in the Greentown trilogy to read. Dandelion Wine was really good. Kinda enjoy Bradbury's coming of age stories.
Thank you! Oooh, I will definitely watch your reaction video. I didn't realize there was a film adaptation of that one. I definitely want to read the rest of that triology too. Somethng Wicked was so fun.
Hi! I really enjoyed your vlog, as usual. Great variety of books from Something wicked..., Vanity Fair (on my shelf for yearsss) to Frankenstein and of course the scenery. 🍂🍁 And bonus: happy cows! 😄 Are these cows bred to get milk or meat? What breed are they? Wishing you a fantastic week of reading, bird watching and drone flying. 😃❤📚
Thank you so much, Martine! They are beef cattle and both Charolais and Angus breeds. They do seem very happy, I must say, which I'm glad for. I love seeing them in the field. :) Hope you have a great week as well!
Lovely vlog. surprised how much your cat looks like mine. Be interested to hear how you finally get on with Frankenstein, it's definitely not the book that you expect it to be. I love it, but it isn't for everyone 😁
Thanks, Mark! Yay for cat twins! Do you mean the orange one or the calico? I didn't really like Frankenstein as much as I thought I would, unfortunately, but I need to dig a little deeper and watch some videos of people talking about why they liked it so I can get their impressions too. I just wanted "more" from the story, I guess, but I am honestly amazed that Mary Shelley wrote that when she was only 18!!
@ the calico. Her name is Peas. Yeah, sometimes when a book is hyped that much there’s no way it can live up to expectations. Also when you look at the early works in a genre they seem a little mundane when you consider where the genres get elevated to. Also I have to say I didn’t love it in my first read, I appreciated a lot more a few years later when I went back. What impresses me about Frankenstein is, yes, how young she was when she wrote it, but also at that age she didn’t just write a novel that was one of the first and most influential in gothic horrors but she arguably wrote the first novel in the entire genre of science fiction. That’s a lot of heavy lifting for an 18 year old kid. One of my favourite quotes about Frankenstein, and I can’t find the original source, is ‘ignorance is thinking that Frankenstein is the monster, knowledge is knowing that Frankenstein is the doctor, wisdom is understanding that Frankenstein is the monster’
@@TheBookThing I love that! Frankenstein was the only monster in my eyes. I've been giving this a lot of thought since I read it, and it's growing on me more and more. It truly is remarkable that she was so young when she wrote it and that she has the emotional maturity to create the character of the monster with such a deep arc.
@@bookstalgic it’s funny how books do that. I read Sun Also Rises earlier this year and when reading it just thought it was so-so, but in the time since it’s really stayed in my head and my estimation has gone up considerably

Awesome Vlog Farrah! Simply gorgeous scenery. It was such a pleasure having you on our discord. So happy we both enjoyed Clowns vs Spiders. 😀🤡🕷 Frankenstein was a letdown for me, unfortunately and that is definitely an unpopular opinion. Something Wicked This Way Comes is a beautiful book, in my opinion, and easily in my top ten. You have done so incredibly well touching on many important themes in the book. I adore the prose- poetic, lyrical, just drips off your tongue. I am so glad you enjoyed the read. 😀LOVE your Halloween decorations, so creepy yet cute at the same time. 🎃Happy Reading for the rest of the year! 📚
