This was a fun tag to watch, Farrah! I've been on vacation for awhile and so I'm happy to catch back up with you! I'm gonna do this tag! 🌻 Thank you for being such a kind presence here on BookTube. You're one of my favorites!
Hi Sarah, it's so nice to hear from you! Thank you so much for your incredibly sweet words; that's so nice of you to say. :) I hope you had a wonderful time off and vacation with your family and I would love if you did this tag too! I love hearing the "behind the scenes" with other people on Booktube :D
This was a fun tag and I enjoyed hearing your answers. I agree on the "pet peeves" - I also love it when people show pictures of the book they're reading while they talk about it, and also list them in the description box. So helpful!
Enjoyed your very thoughtful answers, and I envy your approach in many ways. When it comes to "balance," I fear I'm the sort who simply does whatever I have the time and inclination for in the moment and hope that everything will somehow work out in the end. 🙄 And I pretty much scroll my live feed and watch whatever catches my fancy without a lot of other thought given to priority. I'd make a resolution to amend my life with some thought and organization, but I've lived far too long and know myself far too well to believe that's ever going to happen. 😊 Agreed about vlogs being fun to watch. Ditto on Book Time with Elvis. As far as recording, I've already decided that TBRs are getting tossed by the wayside, and ground into the cruel, cruel dust for good measure. I NEVER adhere to the blasted things anyway. 😜 Thanks for the video, and I hope you have a nice week.
Thank you, Bryan! I think your approach is great and makes Booktube feel less like a chore. :) Some days I just can't keep up and I go with the flow so both approaches are nice to balance it all. Oh yes, Mark and Elvis are great and glad you enjoy them too! I totally hear you about TBRs. I rarely ever stick to more than 1 or 2 of books and feel silly for even making them, but to be honest, the only reason I do them is because they are usually my most viewed video! :P Thank you so much for watching and hope you have a wonderful week as well. :)
What a lovely video, I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for the shout out Farrah, I’m really glad you’ve had a chuckle or two from the nonsense I put out 😁 I have to say, one of the hardest things I’ve had to try to be conscious of since starting to film myself is keeping eye-contact with the lens, I’m getting better but I have to constantly remind myself. I’m really looking forward to doing this tag, it seems like a really fun one, although my tag backlog is a wee bit on the high side do it might be a little while. Thanks again
You're welcome, Mark! I know what you mean, when I first started, I kept forgetting to look at the lens too, and it took a little while to train myself to do it. It's such a weird thing how we talk into our phones/cameras like this in a room, all alone to a pretend audience, ha. No worries about not doing this tag right away. I'm so backlogged as well. I was actually tagged to do this 8 months ago and I finally got to it! :D
Your times spent reading sound so lovely!! I kind of do the same in terms of who I watch on here but I always wish I could watch more haha. I hope I get to see your first live!! I also love when people show a picture of the book they are talking about or have it listed so I can find the right one. This is such a cool tag, thank you for tagging me as well :)
I wish I could watch more people's videos too! I have barely had time to watch anyone's videos this week and I feel so bad. I'm glad you have agree with the photo of the book and the list of books in the description box. It really does help :D As for lives, ironically, I was in my first live with a group of booktubers last Saturday and it was really fun! Hope you have a great week, Sully!
I enjoyed learning about your Booktube watching! I also make notes to make videos. I hope to talk more casually in the future as I relax into booktubing.
Hi Farrah! Thanks so much for the tag! I have to make notes for my wrap ups as well 😂 I’m so terrible at trying to do them off the cuff, it’s a talent for sure.
Me too! I have had to re-film wrap ups because of how awful they were if I just tried to wing it. I try to make my notes immediately after I finish a book, but sometimes that doesn't happen. :D
Great tag, Farrah. It really is hard to keep up. Like you, I love to read in the morning. I have trouble reading at night, though. The first book tuber I discovered and subscribed to was Angelia at Read and Re-Read. I didn't know there was such a thing as BookTube before that. I also love Mark at The BookThing. He's wonderful. I had just discovered Jennifer Brooks right before she passed away. It is still unbelievable to me. I hope you're doing well, Farrah.
Thanks Pat and hope you're doing well too! Oh yes, I agree, reading in the morning is my preferred time to read as well. I get so sleepy when I try to read any time after dinner. My eyes keep closing and I just keep trying until I finally give up. :D I still remember when I discovered that Booktube existed; I was excited to hear people talk about books. I think it was pretty life changing for a lot of us!
Great vid? AWESOME VID!!! Yeah, that's better. A really awesome take on this tag. I love the idea of visiting the channels that visit and comment on your channel. For me the Booktube Community has always been about the other booktubers that you interact with. That is so awesome. I totally get though, about having a busy life trying to do something like this... Oh man, sorry to hear about Jennifer. I did not get to "meet" this Booktuber. Mark is awesome. He was the one to encourage me to start my own channel. Hm, Likes instead of Peeves; excellent! Thanks for sharing Farrah!!
Hi Charles and thank you; I'm glad you enjoyed the tag and I hope you do this one too! :) Oh yes, the booktube friends are the best part about having this channel. This community is SO NICE, I just love the people I've met on here. I'm so glad to hear that you have been enjoying your time on Booktube as well and that you were encouraged by a fellow Booktuber to start your channel. :) Oh yes, always good to focus on what we like, rather than what we don't like regarding our "pet peeves! ;) Hope you have a good week, Charles and 'll be heading over to your channel soon to watch your Children's Classics video!
Hello, Farrah! What a nice tag video! 😊 Booktube is a small world. I share the same feelings as you do about these awesome people. When you mentioned doing a live video, I think I know who you're referring to 😊 If so, maybe I'll see ya in the chat on Thursday ✌️😃
Great answers Farrah! It is definitely a juggling act to try to fit in reading/watching/recording! Hope you get to feeling better soon! Your vlogs are always so amazing! 😊
Hi! Wow! You subscribe to a lot of channels!! I also enjoy Emma's channel. You two have very calming voices and sometimes share nature footage which I like. And obviously , all the book content. Have a great week! 🌞
Really intriguing tag to be able to peep into the interests of a booktuber’s booktube interests. Would not have guessed you were subscribed to so many channels (not judging in any way, just surprised) 😭. I think I may only have 15 total subscriptions 4 of which are booktubers: Steve Donoghue, yourself, a young man who goes by Drunzo, and Jennifers books, but I usually watch what pops up on my recommendations. And I feel the exact same way about Emmie and Jennifers channels: Jennifer’s recommendations actually got me into founding American history, and to learn of her passing away, I was and still am deeply saddened by it.
@@Adam_Dupree I’m so sorry, thought I had responded to this, but I must not have hit send! That’s great to hear you were inspired by Jennifer too. She definitely had a way of talking about history to make you want to read everything she talked about! I still can’t believe she’s gone :(. Having a low subscription amount sounds really nice, actually. Especially on days where I can’t really watch Booktube and I feel guilty for not seeing everyone’s videos :)
@ No worries at all! I just try to catch up whenever I can to the vlogs. If you’re busy, I take no offense whatsoever. And yeahhh :(( She was and continues to be very special in that way. And I used to have an account with a lot of subscriptions but I just let it go and decided to limit myself to 20 at a time just so I won’t spend too much time on UA-cam.
I love Emmas channel, too. Red a lot of the books that she has recommended and I really like, how she talks about books- like if the books were friends or something precious:) And yes, she has a very calming voice:) May I mention, that I really love your hair? I'm 41 and think I have a lot of gey hair, but I'm afraid how I will look like, when I ditch the dye. But every time I see someone with grey hair I love it. Greetings from Germany
@@majaangermuller3735 Thank you so much! I know how you feel, I was a little nervous too, but I was so curious what it would look like and I’m so glad I decided to stop dying my hair. It definitely feels very freeing! I think you should try it if you ever feel ready and if you don’t like it, you can dye it again. :) I followed an Instagram tag called #grombe which really helped me! Thank you again for your very nice compliment ✨
I like the idea of this book tag. I do enjoy your videos and watch when I can. I try to comment on all the videos that I do watch, but that doesn't always happen.
Thank you! I agree, I don't get to comment on every single video I watch either as I'm usually in the middle of doing something while I'm watching. I hope you do the tag too if you feel inspired :D
Hi Farrah! It’s an everyday struggle! Too many videos to watch! I also listen to youtube more than I watch like radio when I work but my interests are multiple so I could basically spend my life here… 😅 😂
Awesome Tag! I loved your responses and especially regarding who to watch. I also have over 200 channels and I need to figure out better ways to spread the love. 😀I might give this a go in future. Would love to have you as a live guest one day, absolutely no pressure though. This is a great community! Have a great November Farrah. 📚📚
Thanks, Cliff! Yes, it's a balancing act of trying to find time to watch as many videos as we can. This method seems to work pretty well for me, at least for now ;) I appreciate you always checking in and offering me to be on one of your lives. I know I will one of these days! Hope you enjoy the warm weather down there in SA :)
I also miss Jennifer and Alice, both in their thirties. I intend to continue to read books that they have recommended, Susan Cooper's books, 'The Dark is Rising' series and I've got Italian history in mind for Jennifer.
I didn't know Alice, but I remember hearing everyone speak about her after she had passed. So sad and unexpected and a reminder that life can be short. I have a whole list of books that Jennifer recommended too and I'm glad their families still have their channels up for us to enjoy. Oh yes, Jennifer definitely made me hope to visit Italy some day!
Lovely video Farrah, I feel you on the vlogs being great but take much more work haha. Yours are superb though for sure. Also some channels for me to check out now as well, thanks! I'm just now trying vaguely to catch up from last month where I didn't create or watch much during October
I also try to make a priority of channels who also watch my channel. I wish that I had about 50 more hours in the day to watch everything, but no luck!
Yes, I love your system that you talked about when you did your tag a few months ago with the "watch later". I also try to support new small channels, but if I subscribe to too many, I get overwhelmed! It's a balance for sure, :D
Haha, yeah, same with me. Once I'm done with a book, if I don't take notes right away, I can't really remember much of it! Maybe someday I'll do what ReadBecca does and do those quick little wrapups - short and sweet and then move on to the next month :D
I look to the side obsessively to make sure the camera is still recording lol. Oh well, practice makes perfect right? Anyway, hopefully one day I will learn to film vlogs too. Great video
