PRESALES ARE LIVE ON GAMERS CHOICE, I mainly like OG Art Droll (remember cards with alters can have worse ratios in rarity 1) & Crossout, but I'd be VERY selective with your presale choices. I think another issue that comes up is that, compared to RC1, there are less cards that people need 3-off that makes you happy to pull from the “hit” pool. Ex: people need 3 pots rather than 3 accesscodes, so the perception of the usefulness of the set diminishes.
RA01 definitely had the "better" generic handtrap pool: Ash, Veiler, Imp, Nib, which is often regarded as the 4 most important ones. This set is worse than RA01 if you are beginning from scratch, no questions, but i think most of the reprints are fine. People dropping huge wishlists like SP, Typhon, both of which are due in tins in 4 months, or things like Thrust which is literally in Maze from like 2-3 months ago and also probably in Megatin 2024 since it covers PHHY just have such unrealistic expectations that you're not going to satisfy them.
@@Avermra That is also true. People were speculating this set and drafting their wish list. I never seen this before in the community. So when cards in their wishlist like Chaos Angel and Trident Dragon aren’t in there, some of these people are underwhelmed
@@ky... Thrust has been printed 3 times too, most recently in a set that's currently being distributed. No way it was getting included in this and, lo and behold, it wasn't. People extrapolated way too much from the RC01 card pool when making predictions about this one.
@@fraternovaeres bruh thrust printed 3 times in the max rarity of the set it came in. So many decks need and want thrust in the side and main, its at minimum 120 for a playset... The tins don't need more help to sell this year, they have S:P and Agov cards to sell that sht to the moon.
My issue with this set is thats it's not so much of a reprint set as it is a rarity bump set. Well yes, it is a reprint set, but most of these cards don't need a reprint. What made rarity 1 so good is that it finally made expensive cards affordable. This set feels like its just here to bling out your deck
My problem with RC2 is that rarity collection (at least RC1) was seen as a set that lowered the price of entry and breathed new life into the game by making it accessible to more people, while RC2 screams: "here are shinier versions of the cards you already got for dirt cheap". IMO there are about 15 cards in this set where I would consider good to great reprints, but even if you don't consider AGOV there are upwards of like 30 cards (across Meta and rouge) that would have appreciated a reprint much more over stuff like 1000th version of MST or Burial Edit: Also meta defining cards like S:P shouldn't have to wait OVER A YEAR to receive a reprint, because it immidiatelly turns off potential new players when they see a card run in every deck being 100€ sometimes even at two copies
Spot on!! People wanted a dream to come to reality, they wanted Trident, Osti and other big name cards in here on top of all the already big name cards.. The crowed is just being greedy, but R1 was great which R2 is good.
For myself personally, Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon would have been nice to have been reprinted especially since Guardian Chimera was reprinted in RC2.
@@voidlockdragon1406 you're probably getting accel synchro in the mega tins. MAZE is one of the sets that they're pulling from and there's basically no reprint value there whatsoever now that baronne is banned, chimera is reprinted again, and the only other semi notable card is wake up HERO. so yeah, id say I'm almost certain the reason rarity collection didn't have assd is because it's nailed on for the tins
@@vla1ne they could have you’re right. Sadly Konami is better described as “they had to but they didn’t” rather than “they didn’t have to but they did”
Honestly my biggest issue with the set (and i really like the set) is it seems to dip its hands in every box but does not really exceel at any of them. Tbh im definitely going to be needing qcr charge of the light brigade.
The way people are talking about it, you’d think the set was full of cards on the level of DM and GX era sets like Pharaonic guardian and Cyberdark impact that are getting reprinted in shinier foil.
Insane how Silent Magician and Swordsman can get a reprint to piggyback off an archetype they’re not even playable in but I’m still stuck digging through my bulk to find a Trident Dragion
People hate it because some of the cards are so low price wise and been reprinted to oblivion triple tactics thrust only got one damn printing and its still too much if they added that I guarantee people be lenient on it a bit more
Cards I thought would be in this set that are missing. Kashtira Fenrir Bystial Lubellion Bystial Druiswurm Kurikara Divincarnate Spright Blue Spright Sprind The 4 dragon rulers
Charge of the Light Brigade is an underrated cards in this set...you can get secret rares ones now for cheap, new lightsworn support, its a 5$ common, great for edison
I remember people wanted a Time Wizard format set with needed reprints. This seems to be it. In fact, they need to put in banned cards like Trap Dustshoot
Because every pack has 9 cards instead of 5, and each pack has 2 Secrets with a chance of being QCR, 2 Ultras with a chance of being PCR/PUR, and 1 super. if you open 1 box, you would have the same number of all rarities as 2 boxes of RA01, except a few supers. Yes, it is a bit more expensive because you lost like 12 supers in a box, but it's not even close to doubling in price when you're basically just losing out on bulk.
The massive powercreep is making konami’s reprint sets worse. Every deck is getting powercrept every 6 months yet it takes 12-18 months to reprint most cards. This powercreep also makes most players only want reprints of recent cards, people really want an SP Little Knight reprint but based on previous practices Konami won’t release one until atleast November.
Honestly, i liked It. People complain a lot but dont understand some points: -They Will NEVER reprint newer cards like bonfire or SP , even Wanted. - They have tô make The sales for megatins so they cannot conflict with collections listed in the megatins. - The collections is more "stable" than the first one because had so many fillers IMO is a low good set.
Rarity collection 2 isn't a bad set but there is no way buying a box is worth it. Konami really proving with their decisions that they don't care enough about the players and their needs. I really think a simple inclusion of Thrust was what they needed to do. 120$ for a playset of a staple side deck cards is just impossible to justify for a lot of players and especially new players. Thrust specifically fits so well in this set, considering this set is usually the best way to get staples within the game. Maze will continue to sell fine due to rollback and bonfire, it probably was already a mega successfully sold set. Another things I find weird is them not including branded fusion and wulf. Wulf would have been perfect for past formats and modern since new lightsworn cards actually use him, branded fusion is just iconic. Sometimes I just feel like players lose trust in TCG Konami because they never go above and beyond for their players. Rarity collection 1 was an OCG product and they already have the luxury of the game being accessible from a price standpoint. Anything TCG exclusive just sucks and its getting really depressing always getting the short end of the stick.
Gonna agree with cali on this one lol Hes a real one for that Some hits but too many misses in this rarity collection to justify the increased price per pack/box. I already bought my singles on pre-sale because I suspect the good QCRs are going to sky rocket when this set fails or the other QCRs fail to hold their value.
As a Blue-Eyes player Im pretty happy. Get a few hand traps in higher rarities and Alternative and Spirit Dragons in higher rarities makes me happy. Magician's Souls and Illusion of Chaos for the near Dragon Magia Master is nice. Same for skill drain.
I just wanted Crossout Designator reprinted so I can get it for cheap and my wish came true. Accesscode in secret rare is also something I want and a playset of D.D. Crow....That's about it. Rest is meh, don't need it
There is a huge difference between a good and needed reprint and a good reprint specifically for rarity collection. Sure bingo machine go is expensive but is rarity collection the right place for that card? Same with a lot of the archetypal cards. Feels like the spirit of the set is different than the first one. Not bad reprints but weird choices for maybe the last rarity collection we get.
I'm mixed on the set because, while cards like Accesscode, Apollo, Souls, and Bingo Machine needed reprints, we didn't need reprints of majority of these cards. Don't get me wrong, I like that a bunch of good cards are getting reprints at the high end for those looking to bling there decks and at the low end so that there will almost always been an easily accessible and cheap option for those balling on a budget, but cards like MST, Judgement, D.D. Crow, Droll, Ogre, Book of Moon, Lance, Poly, ECon, and a bunch more were already dirt cheap in different rarities. It feels more like a "rarity bump" set than a "reprint set." The price hike doesn't help either even if you are still getting roughly the same cost per card as RC1.
This is a good ass long-term set. I'm happy with it, and expectations are probably going to be similar to DUSA for me, bummed we missed out on a few things such as Punishment/JD reprints, No Diviner of the Herald, No Fenrir, and no Super Polymerization. My copium wishes were mostly for the Time Wizard reprints like Trap Dustshoot and Delinquent Duo. Gosh i would have loved that.
Fenrir was reprinted twice already and there's the possibility that it will get limited in the near future. So, it does not make sense to reprint this again Triple Tactic Tasking was reprinted in Maze of Millennia and it's part of the Core Sets that will get reprinted in the Mega Tin. So, no reason to reprint this again so soon This is a more Modern Yu-Gi-Oh focussed set. So, makes sense not to reprint things that are banned for Modern Yu-Gi-Oh
I never had high expectations. It’s a TCG-exclusive set that was announced after the negative reception of MAME and the “Bonfire” shenanigans. It’s barely been six months from the first rarity collection, and even the first announced cards seemed like it was haphazardly put together just as an improvised token of goodwill. A big problem was that expectations were simply too high. I mean, look at the cover design: it’s the same as the first rarity collection with a blue filter - it didn’t seem like it was gonna be a high-effort set just from first impressions. That said, I’d say RA02 is still very average. There were great hits like Crossout, Dragoon, Ultimate Slayer, Chimera, Souls, and Phantazmay, but they were almost the bare minimum for what you’d expect. Yes, shiny staples is always a win, but many of these were already very cheap and accessible.
RC1 was $80 a box, now pre-sales are at 179?? Heck nah Joe!!! I knew is was bad but daaaaaamn this is horrendous. I don't see this set doing good as a long term. But on a side note, i think this set is so bad that they wont hit appo in the end.
"No one really quits Yugioh" sounds wild to me when I'm looking at these Rarity Collection sets as Konami flipping the middle finger at me for engaging with their product for years. There's no reason for me to care about their OTS ultis or special rarity bumps in side and core sets when the most desirable ones will be invalidated by mass overprinting of low scarcity specialty treatments. Cards need to be available but that's what common, rare, and super prints are for. Konami is doing its enfranchised players a disservice by murdering the value of their collections. Even if I never plan to sell my OG Rykos and Hamsters it's nice to know there's value there if I need to sell out. At this point I want to toss all of my binders into a closet and forget about them because it would cost more to pull, price, and sell the cards than they're worth.
The set is too expensive. Period. It's basically a less powerful set, for way more money. Had this set cost the same as rc1 (and if your argument is "the set is bigger" then just keep the pack sizes the same), then it would be a good set at a good price, but the cost, and the changes to the set structure, on top of clearly missing value cards (kurikara, bystials, stardust accel, the kash monsters, tear upgrades, ect) means that the set is immediately a failure, because it fails to do the same thing for players that rc1 did; provide an easy entry point for players.
Ryko is weird bc we have the LODT and st deck reprint, should've really been Punishment Dragon. Overall its a good set but the price point hurts. Covers what RA01 missed, between the two it should mean staples are cheap for the time being, outside of super recent stuff like Thrust/S:P but those should be in tins.
The biggest issue for me is just the sheer amount of Archtype based cards in the set. For example, Unchained Soul of Rage is an amazing reprint for me as I've been priced out of Unchained Labrynth for ages now. However this really isn't the set to have him in, or at least with so many other specific archtype cards. Theres so many! Purrley cards, multiple Brandeds, The archtype Field Spells, DM stuff, Blue Eyes cards, a few Exosisters, Traptrix and more. Having some of these isn't a problem. But the sheer amount is just way too much. When you add in the the pack restructure and price increase this set becomes even less valuable. This set is just a huge L sadly.
Now I am just confused. No important staples are reprinted (crossouts but crossout was like 12-15 a piece who the f really care). RC2 compared to RC1 is just a disappointment.
I think the main problem with the set is simply the price point. The set isn't bad exactly, but it contains a lot of niche / themed cards that were only valuable due to scarcity rather than competitive playability, and as a result those cards really won't be worth much. There's very little in the way of chase cards that will get you your money back on a box, so as a value proposition it just isn't enticing at all. The first Rarity Collection was expensive but justified it with the amount of desirable staples to hunt for, Rarity Collection 2 offers considerably less whilst being more expensive which leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. It's an average set with an inflated price.
The set is mid at best imo. I can easily point out 10 wasted slots. They could have added three of : Fenrir, Kurikara, Druiswurm, Dispater + Rai-Oh, Snatch Steal, Chicken Game, Upstart Goblin and it already is a much better set. Maybe throw in 1 of Protos or Punishment Dragon (especially since Ryko and Charge are here) and its a good set. The tin this year will have so many good cards, was one of Thrust/Dispater/Chaos Angel really too much to ask for?
I think your first point, whilst true, is also misleading when basically every single set in Yu-Gi-Oh history falls under this. This set arguably has less wasted slots than most in Yu-Gi-Oh history. Far less than rarity 1. Don't get me wrong, misses chase cards and meta staples. But there's really good reprints in here. And there are things I'd like to have included, but it still was great anyways. The tins. They suck. They have so much rubbish in them. And even with sp, and everything else. They're just awful products because of their bloat. People get blind sighted by the top value in the set
@@avatarmufasa3628 RC1 had like 10-15 slots that could have been used better, but half of those were anime cards or a few cards, that go in and out of the meta. Thats fine. RC2 half of the cards were either reprinted within the last half of the year or were already pennies. And nobody says to get rid half of the set as those include anime cards and classics aswell (thats fine again), i myself argued for 10 cards to be included, which could have made the set much better - you say the tins are garbage, but this year will be much worse with 400 cards included in them. A major reason why atleast 4 20+ bucks cards should have been here like i mentioned in my original comment. Why do you compare rarity collection(s) to other sets in Yu-Gi-Oh besides duel devastor? The other reprint sets often introduce a lot of new cards, which the RC and Duel Devastor didnt. Even tins i would argue arent comparable because those normally only include cards from 1 calender year. Also dont forget that this set is atleast 50+ bucks more expensive than the first rarity collection(depending on where you live, i think for US its even 70+), so the high rarity cards here might end up more expensive - due to people not wanting to open this.
@@kingfatihIll go over these points 1 by 1 " RC1 had like 10-15 slots that could have been used better" Make this 25-30 and ill agree, the lows of rc1 are way worst than this set and theres a lot of stuff about on par with polymerization "i myself argued for 10 cards to be included," You could do this with literally any set in yugioh history. The point is whether the cards within the set are good. " but this year will be much worse with 400 cards included in them." We agree here. but the highs from the past year will have a lot to make up for, and im honestly not sure theyre enough. "Why do you compare rarity collection(s) to other sets in Yu-Gi-Oh besides duel devastor? " Because we can start to see what does and doesnt work. I think yugioh players have gotten used to the idea of "chase" cards compensating for shit cards, so when understanding how good a set is, they have just ignored this set having good card after good card after good card. I want to encourage valuing good midrange quality within a set that efficient and not bloated. And at the end of the day, theyre packs you buy and I wanna say what products im willing to spend actual money on (ill pay for singles but money is money). If im willing to buy cards within a set, the set did something good, im willing to buy lots of cards in rc2 (same applies to duel devastator, not sure why you singled it out) "The other reprint sets often introduce a lot of new cards, which the RC and Duel Devastor didnt" This is true, they can. and i i was to compare such sets then id do this. However the only reprint sets i considered were rc and megatins (which do contain new cards, but their influence on how well the set does is small to negligable). I think 2019 was the last time it was truly impactful, and i guess dragoon and crossout had varying degrees of success. But youre right, it would impact the quality of the set, as would if new cards had been printed that sucked, they would lower the quality of the set, because you could pull these instead of good (older) cards. "Even tins i would argue arent comparable because those normally only include cards from 1 calender year." Most meta relevant concepts are within the past year, and cards have gotten out of control since then. at the end of the day my main concern is making sure various prices drop and that store sell products, and i do think that rc2 will sell just fine. "Also dont forget that this set is atleast 50+ bucks more expensive than the first rarity collection" This sucks, but im unsure to what degree it will impact everything. Im mostly evaluating the cards within the set Hope you liked my essay :)
Its got a lot of extra deck staples, but all of those are one-ofs and none of them are whats in dire demand right now. We need SP, chaos Angel, dispater, and pyro phoenix.
I wish exosister pax was any other exo card. Since it has accessible prints and a collectors rare. Elis or a different xyz could of been cool as a rarity upgrade
If it were Edison edition it would have staple synchros, frogs, Monarchs, Stratos, and Cyber Dragon. The Battles of Legend reprint set earlier this year was more of an Edison set than this.
Nah, this set kinda sucks. You'd only really buy it for the novelty of the rarity bump. I was kinda hoping for like S:P, Chaos Angel, Thrust, but I guess they want to save those for the tins.
A good portion of the set feels like a cash grab for blue eyes nostalgia and branded players, with some filler that didn’t need reprints. It feels more like the cards they missed outweigh the good cards that are a hit
@@Lynxx52it's a fantastic set. The amount of duds in this set are some of the lowest in Yu-Gi-Oh history. Far less than rarity collection 1 (don't get me wrong, I think ra01 is better overall) I mostly think the issues are the price and that konami has to justify the awful bloat of the megatins. And people mostly focus on the high end value and get confused when the reason a set is good, is because the midrange value is insane
There are a few good reprints, and while yes the set could've been better for sure, one issue I have with it imo is that it doesn't justify the increased MSRP of the product (in terms of boxes).
SSSOOOO many terrible choices. So many not needed reprints at all. Sick of the ghost girls reprints. Why another book of moon? Why two different prints of rescue cat? Very disappointing imo. Should of had a couple of the good hero cards
Rescue cat alt art was only in premium gold rare in Maximum Gold El Dorado. A lot of people in the community don't like that rarity. Also og rescue cat was expensive for a while several formats ago. And for past formats too. So the 2 artworks getting reprinted in this set is great long-term. The same thing can be said for the alternate arts in maximum gold and maximum gold el dorado. Bingo machine go being expensive is so absurd. When the card is played in a deck that's casual or really low rogue tier. Charge of the light brigade needed a reprint badly. All copies were expensive. Because of past formats play, and current or future play. I could go on. There are only a few cards in this set that didn't need to be in here. Like sol and luna for example.
it almost seems like the cards that missed the tins (planet fields) among other cards were re-routed to this set instead. which, im glad we are getting, but i wish those slots went to the other key cards from those themes.
Tbh, I would have like Branded Fusion and Kurikara would have been great reprints in this set to give it more of a boost. However, there is a lot I will be getting to have in my multiple decks.
Honestly the more I see the setlist the more I like it. I won't be buying as many packs as I did RA01 due to the price increase, but I think it's a good set.
Dude John, u just said the upped msrp isnt that bad. Im am in Europe i need to Spend a fucking 130€ to get a box from distro 130€ that is insane for such a mediocre set u would think when u spend 130€ u get something good or premium this set isnt it. And to say it's not that bad where does this end 200€ RC03 Displays are u out of your mind saying this?
Yeah. set is kinda ass and they are gonna charge even more for it too. No Bystials, no Thrust, no Kashtiras, lack of more Edison chases like Trident, Pulling the Rug, Trap Dustshoot, etc. not even Snach Steal. Definitely waiting to pinch stuff off the singles market, but I definitely am not getting abox for this one.
The main draw for RC2 it seems will be the rarity bumps and easy accessibility of any card thats printed here. While not nearly as good of value as RC1 in terms of meta related cards, it's still a decent product. Just the high price per box will just promote more of the secondary market, but with the lack of openings with RC2 due to price, I can see the singles being more expensive as a result.
I’m glad that they reprinted Guardian Chimera in here. It’s the last piece I need for my Chimera Illusion deck. I’m also happy they reprinted Dragoon so I can get a second copy (that way I can have one for Red-Eyes and one for Dark Magician). Dugares is a decent reprint too, since I think it only had one printing. Same with Borrelend. I have mine already but it’s good for those that don’t. The Blue-Eyes reprints were far overdue. I bought the deck over this past year and paid way too much for something that’s nowhere near meta. Overall I like the set. Not as well-rounded as RC01, but I think this set accomplishes what it needed to.
Really, RA01 already hit a lot of the expensive staples. There isn't much more they could have printed for RA02 except stuff that just recently came out. There are a few other things they could have put in that are pricey, but it isn't too bad. I'll admit. There are quite a few cards in this set that I feel really didn't need to be in here and could have been put into a Battles of Legend set, but I think it's fine. Not quite as good as RA01, but still good..
As a modern day newer player this set just feels bad. I appreciate there’s value for a lot of people in this, but for those of us that care little about rarity and just want access to cards that are expensive it just feels bad. That was the main draw of rarity collection 1 (at least for me). A lot of these cards are already budget to semi budget and accessible. I was just hoping for something like a chaos angel or a trident dragion to round out the set for players in my boat. I’m happy for those that are hyped and excited though!
😮It's a definitive miss for the set...sucks my ots store owner has 35 pre-orders canceled feel bad for him. The problem is unlike ra01 u can't get everything easy as the last one. There is about 40 cards they could have put in (not agov stuff) and if 15% of them would have helped this. Honestly feels like a huge money grab hoping people cashed in before reveals. The tins are gonna be nuts now
A few good reprints, namely Guardian Chimera, Ultimate Slayer, Accesscode, Dragoon, all the planets, xyz encore, crossout, souls. But a lot of the other cards could have been something else to help more expensive cards become more accessible as opposed to the handtraps that are worth literal pennies. For example, could have given us more reprints of Fenrir. Moreover, the price-per-box is INSANE. The set is basically only for people who are interested in rarity bumping their common e-con's or MST's, etc. Personally not a fan of Blue-Eyes cards getting their millionth reprint as if we don't have enough of those -.-
I feel like it is a fine pack they just missed out on very obvious reprints and having some of the lower tier handtraps/board breakers. Having people wait this long on Trident Dragion makes me think Konami wants to lose money😂. I think it is worth buying but this will start the decline of the name value of Rarity Collection and it is only the 2nd one, impressive.
What i dont like about this is there was no reason to increase the cost of the box just to make it a 18 pack x 9 cards set. They should have either made it a 24 pack x 9 card set for $150 Or kept the standard 24 packs x 5 card set at the same old price. It is still a 79 card set so you are essentially paying more for less cards and end up with a mid-decent set.
The set is fine imo. It is worse than RC1 which doesn't say a lot considering RC1 is arguably one of the best Yu-Gi-Oh card products ever. It's like comparing Steph Curry to MJ, at the end of the day it's still freakin Curry. I hope Konami doesn't listen to haters and makes more sets like this in the future. To all the haters: I wish u pull no S:Ps in tins this year (if they even happen to be there 😈)
The Bad: not as many staples as RC01 The Good: They fixed the Platinum and Ultimate Rares! The Ultis actually look like Ultis this time around instead of looking like Gold Rares, and the Platinums actually look like the original Mega Tin ones! The Ugly: With that in mind, Ultis of cards like Book of Moon and Abyss Dweller are in danger of tanking BADLY.
skarlon takes moment chat Set is trash, RA01 was good for the players and less good for the shops since high msrp and low value in opening it, kind of happens when you reprint those cards a bagilion of times and then put 7 version of it in a single set alone 3/4 actual good reprints. We need mainline sets like this, not 3 years old archetipes reprinted in a sporadic way that are not even competitive atm
I feel like the big difference between this and rarity 1 is rarity 1 was seen as an incredible way to get a playset of staples and be able to max out the rarity of them as high as you want as a bonus, the selling point of this feels like being able to get higher rarities of cards you have while being able to pick up some more obscure cards you might have wanted.
Personally I really would have like to see the og monarchs in here ( Not Megas ) . A ulti or secret raiza and caius would have looked so awesome and yes I know they have ultimates but they are super expensive.
I'd be interested in comparing the average prices of the QCSRs from RA01 and RA02 after RA02 prices calm down. I want to see if the bad reaction to RA02 is justified based on the numbers.
People dont realise that konami has a long term production plan, and that almost all of the new cards theyve asked for are going in the megatins. You dont need to reprint a card (like trident dragion) in 7 rarities. It only needs one reprint. It's easy to react and get upset, but we've still got 2-3 more reprint sets this year, and konami will cash in on meta staples in those
RA01 is my favourite set, period. So I knew there was no contest. But I'm surprised how much I do want from this set. Was not expecting Blue Eyes upgrades dirt cheap!
I think the issue is the price vs what’s actually worth pulling. My locals is one of those trying to sell a box for $180. Legit picked up a QCR underworld goddess and called it a day
I personally think rarity to buy the card list and what you have explained is really good for what it is. Rarity one felt like it had more staple cards things that you would need in a main deck and a sideboard. At three. Rarity two feels like it takes the price of most valuable cards for the extra deck, the sideboard, and even the main deck that were really expensive even in those past formats and really drives it down for budget players and collectors alike. Yeah, the market went down when rarity one came out. However, it has been recovering. Certain cards retain a better value for like the collectors and then the budget players who wanna play on a budget can play on a budget. They don’t need to have the most expensive card to play. I think rarity collection too. Does a pretty decent job cards missing sure but overall pretty good a lot of re-prints that really needed it.
Feather Duster Super Poly Reborn Tengu Absolute Zero Cactus Bouncer Terraforming (With the one ofs the chose, rather have the ones that have a stronger standing) Thousand Eyes Restrict Dark Armed Dragon Threatening Roar Formula Synchron Dante (legacy of his own) Cyber Dragon Infinity These couldve been some better choices, and Obviously not everyone will agree, but its SOME better ideas than what we are getting RA02 was obviously never gonna be as good as RA01, but seriously stuff like Ryko and Super Nimble Hamster are massive wasted slots. Theres legacy, and then theres poor decisions that other stuff couldve filled
@@brandonlamb5307 And? Most of the Lightsworns being in Chapter 1, Upcoming Realm of Light Structure Deck reprint and Light of destruction say hello. I guess 3 reprints of Judgement Dragon in 1 year flew by you lol
I think whats really going on is: - Rarity Collection 1 set the bar high as a product with a pro-consumer impact. - Rarity Collection 2 offers the same rarity variety, as it should. But the card selection isnt as impactful, practical or appealing aside from a few chase cards and notably useful ones. - Fans riding off the hype and deserved success of RC1 expected a similar impact. And for a lot of players that impact heavily translates to making cards that are expensive and currently useful, affordable. - People were lead to think Konami would handle a 2nd collection similarly. And people already had an idea on top of that expectation as to what cards WOULD be satisfying to see. So, its not that RC2 is bad. It lives up to its namesake, but its just not living up to its original quality and impact. Nor is it living up to people expectations. Im willing to bet a good amount of people who like it will express that they didnt have too many expectations and/or likely are satisfied knowing they'll have a chance at cards they want. Singles or Sealed.
But the boxes have been listed on TCG player at about $119 for the past few months. I would know, I've been checking and even bought some. That $180/box that everyone keeps quoting seems off, even if it's technically correct for individual packs.
I would have loved to see a qcr grapha, seeing as dark world got some new support not too long ago. Heck, even the danger monsters would have looked nice as qcr.
PRESALES ARE LIVE ON GAMERS CHOICE, I mainly like OG Art Droll (remember cards with alters can have worse ratios in rarity 1) & Crossout, but I'd be VERY selective with your presale choices. WHATSGOOD5 for 5% off & to support the channel @ www.gamerschoicepreorder.com/collections/25th-anniversary-rarity-collection-ii?sort_by=price-descending
@@QuasarYGO on god
@@Avermra You see, Megatins dont solve all the problems, and we all know they will very likely skip some very important reprint for some weird reason.
@@ketsura3618 skipping cards in a 400 card set would be wild. 400 cards is already disgusting and probably means lots of shortprints
They printed the Planets and no Targets. No Chaos Angel, Thrust, Dis Pater is WILD
Nobody should've expected Thrust. Maze is still on shelves.
@@fraternovaeres and? Talents was printed in 3-4 products in a year or so
Chaos Angel and Dis Pater are both in sets that should be printed in tins.
They needed some stuff from sets that aren't AGOV to sell the tins.
My thoughts exactly! A lot of the cards in this set could be bought for under a dollar, and in some case in multiple rarities.
My problem with RC2 is that rarity collection (at least RC1) was seen as a set that lowered the price of entry and breathed new life into the game by making it accessible to more people, while RC2 screams: "here are shinier versions of the cards you already got for dirt cheap". IMO there are about 15 cards in this set where I would consider good to great reprints, but even if you don't consider AGOV there are upwards of like 30 cards (across Meta and rouge) that would have appreciated a reprint much more over stuff like 1000th version of MST or Burial
Edit: Also meta defining cards like S:P shouldn't have to wait OVER A YEAR to receive a reprint, because it immidiatelly turns off potential new players when they see a card run in every deck being 100€ sometimes even at two copies
Set is alright but The price you pay is not worth what you get in return.
Honestly the reprints are solid, its just that its bad compared to rarity 1
Spot on!! People wanted a dream to come to reality, they wanted Trident, Osti and other big name cards in here on top of all the already big name cards.. The crowed is just being greedy, but R1 was great which R2 is good.
Lazy set😊
RAC2 really needed another modern meta chase. Thrust, Fenrir, etc, would have been good inclusions to fit that bill.
Omitting fenrir was a slap in the face. I didn’t expect thrust seeing as reprinting it in Mzmi spaces it out perfectly for the mega tins.
@@danlay638they could have done it for both and nobody would have complained.
Just ask a friend LUL😂
No Trident Dragion? Super missed opportunity smh
Maybe a Battles of Legend reprint?
People hate it because some of the cards are so low price wise and been reprinted to oblivion triple tactics thrust only got one damn printing and its still too much if they added that I guarantee people be lenient on it a bit more
thrust has 3 printings but i get your point
Cards I thought would be in this set that are missing.
Kashtira Fenrir
Bystial Lubellion
Bystial Druiswurm
Kurikara Divincarnate
Spright Blue
Spright Sprind
The 4 dragon rulers
Reprinting Aluber and all planets but no Quem, Dis Pater, Bystials in general, cartesia, super poly, anima or fenrir 🤦♂️
Those are all cope wants
@@PartyMarty321how is it cope to expect quality in the set that's imitating rc1?
Charge of the Light Brigade is an underrated cards in this set...you can get secret rares ones now for cheap, new lightsworn support, its a 5$ common, great for edison
I remember people wanted a Time Wizard format set with needed reprints. This seems to be it. In fact, they need to put in banned cards like Trap Dustshoot
The main issue imo is that why is it double MSRP
Because every pack has 9 cards instead of 5, and each pack has 2 Secrets with a chance of being QCR, 2 Ultras with a chance of being PCR/PUR, and 1 super. if you open 1 box, you would have the same number of all rarities as 2 boxes of RA01, except a few supers.
Yes, it is a bit more expensive because you lost like 12 supers in a box, but it's not even close to doubling in price when you're basically just losing out on bulk.
There are more cards technically but instead of 24 5 card packs it's 18 9 card packs. 120 vs 162 cards per box basically.
Oh wow yeah $9.99 a pack? I think I will pick up singles. Picking up high rarity blue eyes is a no brainer.
Honestly, i liked It.
People complain a lot but dont understand some points:
-They Will NEVER reprint newer cards like bonfire or SP , even Wanted.
- They have tô make The sales for megatins so they cannot conflict with collections listed in the megatins.
- The collections is more "stable" than the first one because had so many fillers
IMO is a low good set.
Anything TCG exclusive just sucks and its getting really depressing always getting the short end of the stick.
depression is real
Gonna agree with cali on this one lol
Hes a real one for that
Some hits but too many misses in this rarity collection to justify the increased price per pack/box.
I already bought my singles on pre-sale because I suspect the good QCRs are going to sky rocket when this set fails or the other QCRs fail to hold their value.
he speaks for the players for sure
@@bobzheng5251 I play and ik he speaks for me on this.
Rest is meh, don't need it
Price point? Not worth it.
However a lot of the cards people wanted I’m pretty sure will come out in the tins to sell that.
So, it does not make sense to reprint this again
Triple Tactic Tasking was reprinted in Maze of Millennia and it's part of the Core Sets that will get reprinted in the Mega Tin. So, no reason to reprint this again so soon
This is a more Modern Yu-Gi-Oh focussed set. So, makes sense not to reprint things that are banned for Modern Yu-Gi-Oh
I’m certain they have no plans to released banned cards, doesn’t make sense.
QCR and PUR Ryko sounds freaking awesome ngl
Double the price for half as good as the first one is wild tho. Set is mid, not bad but definitely not good. Big L 😊
No druiswarm, fenrir and dispater is just completely scam set.
@@kingfatihIll go over these points 1 by 1
" RC1 had like 10-15 slots that could have been used better"
Make this 25-30 and ill agree, the lows of rc1 are way worst than this set and theres a lot of stuff about on par with polymerization
"i myself argued for 10 cards to be included," You could do this with literally any set in yugioh history. The point is whether the cards within the set are good.
" but this year will be much worse with 400 cards included in them."
We agree here. but the highs from the past year will have a lot to make up for, and im honestly not sure theyre enough.
"Why do you compare rarity collection(s) to other sets in Yu-Gi-Oh besides duel devastor? "
Because we can start to see what does and doesnt work. If im willing to buy cards within a set, the set did something good, im willing to buy lots of cards in rc2
(same applies to duel devastator, not sure why you singled it out)
"The other reprint sets often introduce a lot of new cards, which the RC and Duel Devastor didnt"
This is true, they can. and i i was to compare such sets then id do this.
"Even tins i would argue arent comparable because those normally only include cards from 1 calender year."
Most meta relevant concepts are within the past year, and cards have gotten out of control since then. at the end of the day my main concern is making sure various prices drop and that store sell products, and i do think that rc2 will sell just fine.
"Also dont forget that this set is atleast 50+ bucks more expensive than the first rarity collection"
This sucks, but im unsure to what degree it will impact everything. Im mostly evaluating the cards within the set
Hope you liked my essay :)
How many times are they going to reprint chaos hunter. The Silent magician is a needed one though.
I don't hate it but I'm not going to keep buying packs of this like rarity collection 1.
This is Rarity collection Edison edition with some modern game staples
If it were Edison edition it would have staple synchros, frogs, Monarchs, Stratos, and Cyber Dragon. The Battles of Legend reprint set earlier this year was more of an Edison set than this.
Nah, this set kinda sucks. You'd only really buy it for the novelty of the rarity bump. I was kinda hoping for like S:P, Chaos Angel, Thrust, but I guess they want to save those for the tins.
I think mid is a very fair assessment. It's not garbage, but it doesn't have the same punch as RC1
A good portion of the set feels like a cash grab for blue eyes nostalgia and branded players, with some filler that didn’t need reprints. It feels more like the cards they missed outweigh the good cards that are a hit
$180 per box?! That is insane, there is no way most people can drop that. I have most of these cards but I still wanted to open a box for fun!
It’s not worth the price for the regular player.
You'd have to do some crazy mental gymnastics to argue that this is a good set
It is a good set with nice reprints. It's overpriced is the problem
@leekyonion they're ok reprints at best and the price automatically makes it an objectively bad set
@@Lynxx52it's a fantastic set. The amount of duds in this set are some of the lowest in Yu-Gi-Oh history. Far less than rarity collection 1 (don't get me wrong, I think ra01 is better overall)
I mostly think the issues are the price and that konami has to justify the awful bloat of the megatins. And people mostly focus on the high end value and get confused when the reason a set is good, is because the midrange value is insane
There are a few good reprints, and while yes the set could've been better for sure, one issue I have with it imo is that it doesn't justify the increased MSRP of the product (in terms of boxes).
So...while it does miss the Handtrap impact the 1st had...But around 70% of these cards were 10€ plus.
I think Rarity Collection 2 is a good set, for buying singles and up rarities, I don't think is good to buy or keep sealed
THANK YOU
SSSOOOO many terrible choices.
The presale prices are absurd. I would not be pre-ordering any cards from this.
Tbh, I would have like Branded Fusion and Kurikara would have been great reprints in this set to give it more of a boost.
However, there is a lot I will be getting to have in my multiple decks.
This box is really good.
You're just not topping ash, nib, ttt, veiler, imper, baronnne, pot... Etc
its so good, now we can play edison! no snake eye tenpai yehhhhhh
I canceled my pre-order not worth it
The main draw for RC2 it seems will be the rarity bumps and easy accessibility of any card thats printed here. While not nearly as good of value as RC1 in terms of meta related cards, it's still a decent product. Just the high price per box will just promote more of the secondary market, but with the lack of openings with RC2 due to price, I can see the singles being more expensive as a result.
I'm just kind of meh about it.
Too much crap on an expensive product.
Wheres forbidden chalice reprint
As a modern day newer player this set just feels bad. I appreciate there’s value for a lot of people in this, but for those of us that care little about rarity and just want access to cards that are expensive it just feels bad. That was the main draw of rarity collection 1 (at least for me). A lot of these cards are already budget to semi budget and accessible. I was just hoping for something like a chaos angel or a trident dragion to round out the set for players in my boat. I’m happy for those that are hyped and excited though!
The only thing I’m disappointed with is no HERO reprints that are truly needed
They should have either made it a 24 pack x 9 card set for $150
Or kept the standard 24 packs x 5 card set at the same old price.
It is still a 79 card set so you are essentially paying more for less cards and end up with a mid-decent set.
“We have 18 packs per box” continues to type in 19 😂
ikr? xD
To all the haters: I wish u pull no S:Ps in tins this year (if they even happen to be there 😈)
did he say 18 and type 19?
Yeah, he also got the MSRP price wrong. The cost of a box is $122 from what I see online, not $189. Still not great, but he’s not correct
CR solemn strike from the grand creators booster set is such a nice quality printing/ contrasting colors, and over shimmer. Do your self a favor. ✌🏼
The Bad: not as many staples as RC01
The Good: They fixed the Platinum and Ultimate Rares! The Ultis actually look like Ultis this time around instead of looking like Gold Rares, and the Platinums actually look like the original Mega Tin ones!
The Ugly: With that in mind, Ultis of cards like Book of Moon and Abyss Dweller are in danger of tanking BADLY.

Set is trash, RA01 was good for the players and less good for the shops since high msrp and low value in opening it, kind of happens when you reprint those cards a bagilion of times and then put 7 version of it in a single set alone 3/4 actual good reprints.
It seems to be half and half to be honest.
This set WOULD HAVE been a banger in 2016. In 2024 its a cool collector set, Ass meta set.
I’m an Edison only player and I see 4-5 cards I’m interested in so I’ll take it.
people expected too much with how good Rarity Collection 1 was and this helps players who like older formats
No knightmare Phoenix, bagooska, thrust, typhon, diviner, cosmic, dispater, chaos angel, sp,kurikara, rivalry, tcbo, Bystials, karma canon, Psy frames, lightning storm, chalice, kaijus, Pankratops are just all missing & players would’ve loved rarity bumps on all these. Such a missed opportunity……
But which cards will be banned? You know konami trying to cash in on that reprint equity before next list
Anti-Spell, Apo and maybe I:P
I think the issue is the price vs what’s actually worth pulling. My locals is one of those trying to sell a box for $180.
Legit picked up a QCR underworld goddess and called it a day
Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter is wild. I understand for Edison format, but I feel like the slot could have been used much better.
Yugioh is so expensive... *sigh*
Feather Duster
Super Poly
Reborn Tengu
Absolute Zero
Cactus Bouncer
Terraforming (With the one ofs the chose, rather have the ones that have a stronger standing)
Thousand Eyes Restrict
Dark Armed Dragon
Threatening Roar
Formula Synchron
Dante (legacy of his own)
Cyber Dragon Infinity
These couldve been some better choices, and Obviously not everyone will agree, but its SOME better ideas than what we are getting
RA02 was obviously never gonna be as good as RA01, but seriously stuff like Ryko and Super Nimble Hamster are massive wasted slots.
Theres legacy, and then theres poor decisions that other stuff couldve filled
Absolute Zero just got reprinted, lol. Secret rare promo from the battles of legend chapter 1
@@brandonlamb5307 And? Most of the Lightsworns being in Chapter 1, Upcoming Realm of Light Structure Deck reprint and Light of destruction say hello.
I guess 3 reprints of Judgement Dragon in 1 year flew by you lol
I think whats really going on is:
- Rarity Collection 1 set the bar high as a product with a pro-consumer impact.
Msrp is rarely charged. That why you see $70 core set boxes when msrp is much higher. Also keep in mind US is 18 pack and EU is 24 packs
Very good box, for my 🤷🏻♂️
This guy literally said “book of moon is one of the cards with the most rarities in the game and I like that continuity” SHILL 🤮
I would have loved to see a qcr grapha, seeing as dark world got some new support not too long ago. Heck, even the danger monsters would have looked nice as qcr.
