My understanding of the dupes within an individual pack in RC1 and 2 was that each rarity slot (super, ultra, secret) and their associated variations are independent from one another so you can get dupes but not dupes of the same rarity slot.
Like RA01 had a bunch of bad cards too. Like Alpha Master of Beasts as discount Fenrir, Tri-Brigade Revolt when it was already a common, galaxy eyes afterglow dragon, Pot of Extrav, Artemis when it was already reprinted and Like $1 a copy...
My main complaint with the set is that the pack sizes are larger but the overall set list is smaller than RA01, leading to pulling lots of duplicates. When I opened RA01, part of the fun was getting a ton of variety. That set also had some cards that felt like filler but I got less of them. I imagine it would be very frustrating to buy a box of RA02 and pull like 7 MSTs
I like the fact that minutes after i saw this Konami's official accounts post that trident dragion is gonna be in the tins They basically said " yeah nah, we don't just want your money, we want YOUR ENTIRE WALLET"
We should all revolt against Konami and force them to adapt to the OCG product patterns. It’s beyond horrible what the actual F they are doing to this game. Takahashi surely didn’t wish for sth like this for his IP.
I get wanting to reprint some cards (the solemns) because they were significant in the history of the game and are honestly not bad cards. The problem with this set is the amount of useless cards (Ryko, MST unfortunately) and the amount of archetypal cards. The cards we wanted reprinted, aside from trident dragon, are getting reprints in the tins. This should have come out after the tins so that Konami could have felt safe putting those cards in here as well. Thinking about it too, if the tins and rarity collection were the two big end of year sets, I wouldn’t mind that
Pretty much on spot..This product its meh at best and disapointing at worst, and its almost like they weren't even trying....Of course, many have argued that it was impossible to top RC1, with all the good cards in that box (Ashs, infinite, nibiru, baronne, etc)...but hey...not only they COULD have done it, if they really wanted to (they could literally print alternative ash here), but they are also charging double the price for objectively worse cards (which THEY CHOOSE, over objectively better cards which are being played today)... But the worst part is that the stores who ordered it, without knowing what was inside (and expecting it to be another RC1), are completely screwed...while we, the customers, at least can choose to buy or not buy this thing (and I don't blame anyone if they want to get their blue eyes, or accescode QCR)....Well, I guess this is just business as usual for Konami..
I am annoyed fenrir is not in this as he is an obvious one to print and has already been in the tins so deseves a reprint to lower price. Plus maybe more mmandium cards could have been done too if your printing their field spells
btw I see an official Konami partner passively advertising the set in the chat because he is not allowed to say anything negative to his overlords, lol.
This set was enough to fuck up the cards I was planning on selling, but not enough to where I was like “oh well at least I got this” shit was kinda wack
The 5 Cards that should have been in here (from my list okay) were Branded Fusion to get higher rarities, L&D Dragon because that would have been awesome because of past formate potential, Fenrir, Tidal, and Kurikara
140 GBP is insane for a bunch of cards that come in structure decks. They dropped the ball badly with this product and it's going to be sitting on shelves for a long time.
What's frustrating is it seems like Konami took away the wrong reason for why we liked RC1. They saw the fanfare and assumed it was because "WE LIKE SHINY!!!" While that was a part of it, the things that made it a smash hit was it broke down the price barrier for a bunch of generic meta relavent cards. For RC2, we get Accesscode, Apollo, Garura, and Crossout if you really want to stretch it as our generic price barrier breakers, which sucks in comparison to RC1. The MSRP jump also blows. I didn't mind buying RC1 because I never felt ripped off because I was pretty much always going to pull something useful. With RC2, I feel ripped off just by looking at the $120 bow price and looking at that card list.
Diviner, fenrir, quem, disaster, spright blue, Zeus, chaos angel, soul of anguish, literally half the Ultras from Age of Overlord, the dragon rulers would’ve been a fantastic choice for this because they just got unbanned. But we got 3 blue eyes cards and rescue cat. I think it’s fine if they go with the more archetypal picks like magnifica and the planets, but at least choose cards that need reprints. MST, Cyclone, Poly, Foolish, book, solemn, skill drain, and Econ????? Cards like Quem have next to no prints and only at crazy high rarities to boot. I would rather have reprints of cards that are locked to an archetype but need reprinting than generic staples that have been power crept.
What I would have loved to see is a "toss caution to the wind"-reprint pack. Why do we need to wait forever for a reprint of certain cards? Why do we accept stuff like: Revolution Synchron being gatekept through Secret Rarity in the TCG, when it is avaible as a common in the OCG? Or key cards for entire groups of archetypes being a 1-time print from 2022? Toss in Rev synchron and Clockwerk knight for the Machine players, Throw in Fenrir, Diviner and Chaos angle. Throw in DAD aswell for the older formats. Remove MST, Solemn Warning, And the Non-Alt-Art cards. There you go. Now it is a good set that cuts down the absurd cost of certin key cards.
@@geek593 Yeah but it would be a start. I doubt konami will fix their "Tournament required card printed only in secret rare" attitude because it makes them a ton of money.
I'll say the same thingi said before, this is a set for casuals. I'm happy for the DM and BE stuff being here to drive these mid strategies down to the cost of sand. I do not enjoy all these dogwater spells that have ten thousand printings already got put in though.
Honestly, for maybe a pack filler card I was expecting Mirror Force and not MST and I would have been fine with that, overall I am... okay with RC2. I'll pick up my Crossout's and maybe finish up my playsets of Garura and Dragoon and ig get 38, T.G Hyper Librarian, Solemn Strike, the nice rarity Polys won't go amiss, Duality is a bit of a pain to get so I guess I will get that too and of course Souls
you can technically pull 5 of the same card in 1 pack if you get a super an ultra/ulti/collector and a secret/plat secret/qcr in the same pack it happened to me in rc1 where i got a super/pcr/ulti/platinum in the same pack
The recent tins have been ass. No real promos and the last tins just straight up ignored anything worth money from POTE (hence why we had to wait until now for Perlereino)
this is counter productive to what the rc hobby does. the rc hobby understands price break points, and makes combinations of their products so that people of those break points can get them. this set would have been ok, had the base price didnt double for less than double the amount of cards you get but even then the card pool is awful and so many cards that are just filler
Yknow what would have been cool? Waboku. Effectively the same as Threatening Roar, and outside of the obscure duel terminal stuff it's never been above a common. Put that in over PrePrep or Anti Spell. It's the oldest card that just says no to 10pi dragons.
They should have at least printed cards to support upcoming popular archtypes. Dragion, Beckoning Beast, Opening, One for One etc. Hey at least we got Soul of Rage. Like, why Ryko? Why not Punishment Dragon.
We need more negativity with this set imo, rarity collection should be better most of the failed sets started good or decent and Komoney kept giving the following waves worse and worse product until they went, “well nobody likes this product let’s retire it”
As a on and off yugioh player i like this set. Because it has a lot of the useful generic cards that every new player needs. Not always you had acces to mst, poly, mind control, foolish, dd crow, etc. Even though they are low cost cards it makes it easier for players to acces this cards without having to ask their old player friends to look for them in boxes of junk cards
Honesty, I would have been fine if both collections were called the "pauper collections." It's all commons but has reprints of cards that price people out of the game. The collectors keep the value of their shiny cards while I can actually play
They’re called Rarity Collections because they release cards in a half dozen rarities with the minimum rarity being Super, and cards are generally available in at least 3 rarities (Super/Ultra/Ultimate, Secret, and Collectors) For RA03, RA04/RC01, and RC02, this meant cards were available in a spread of rarities from Super to Collector’s, with 1-2 having Holo/Ghost, but before then, top rarities were kept to the peak cards For example: the 20th Anniversary Rarity Collection featured 6 apex tier cards, 5 in XSR, and one in Ghost Holo/Ghost Blue-Eyes Alternative Extra Secret Dark Magician the Dragon Knight Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon Shooting Star Dragon No62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon (For RA01: Ghost Blue Eyes; Extra Secret DM, Neos, Stardust, Odd-Eyes, and Utopia)
@@insertcolorherehawk3761 Yes, I know this, I'm saying I'd be fine with a set of all common printings if it meant everyone would play the game with whatever cards they want without breaking the bank while collectors could stay happy that their shines are **Rare**
I like them, as someone who doesn't play current meta. Most of these cards are cards that at some point have been good/playable. Now if you ever want to play older formats, you can get these cards in neat rarities
Konami ocg: why brother ,why ? I give you one job. Konami tcg: is no my faul they buy anything in high price ( see that people buy trident dragon ) see Konami ocg : argggg
phantasmay, crossout, accesscode, souls, slayer, lighsworn charge are some cards I would like to play but still don't have because of their weird price tag (like 10 dollars but x3 for a playset).... there's also plenty of cards with good affordable rarity bumps, like PEP, al art masq and apo, and all the "lower level" hand traps. Sure mst, sarc, warning etc are pointless, but the set overall isn't bad
Was really hoping for kashtira, tearlament, bystial, and punishment dragon reprint But i guess I'll just get guardian chimera and rindbrumm singles and call it a day
There are things that make me personally happy in the set. If my picture wasn't enough of a tell, I've been trying to max rarity Branded and thought "well we'll never get fusion deploy or poly so already not happening". Seeing this I was like "ok now hol up." Had a starlight slayer I pulled, is nice to have cheap qcrs to match a bit. No one in our friend group owned purrley for being annoyingly overpriced which was maddening for practicing but it's dirt cheap now. Giving Sauravis without herald is weird, if they wanted to give stuff to old players and satisfy competitive they could've put the dragon rulers here and everyone would've just nutted. In fairness the blue eyes structure is apparently a thing that was announced yesterday but like... Doubt that it'll change anything meta wise. Lot of misses.
I only play the videogames, and even I bought a box of the first rarity collection, just for fun and to reward Konami for doing one thing right. I don't even care about what cards got reprinted, obviously good for the expensive ones that became affordable, but doubling the price of the box? That's the low blow for me.
So I double-checked the 2023 Mega Tins. Those slots were used to sell QCRs of a bunch of anime boss monsters, and there weren't many cards in that set. There was no 2023 reprint tin. The 2024 Tin in September has more anime anime branding. WHY WAS THIS SET NOT USED TO REPRINT 2022s CORE SET CARDS? Like sure they could put them in the 2024 Tin but we have cards from 2022 that could seriously use reprints. Konami does not understand how to actually make money from this game.
same can be said for Econ. That has a million prints in common too. I think it has a secret in one of the yugi/joey's world. Poly, mst, econ really don't need to be here I'll give you that.
In chat someone said "No Loptr". And Jesus yeah, that SHOULD have been in here. Literally one printing. Needed for an entire deck and printed 4 years ago.
I knew it would never happen but imagine the reaction if Konami decided this rarity collection was going to be the first reprint of Air Neos. I feel like that alone would've shifted a good chunk of the negative feelings a lot of people had for the set.

When I opened RA01, part of the fun was getting a ton of variety. That set also had some cards that felt like filler but I got less of them. I imagine it would be very frustrating to buy a box of RA02 and pull like 7 MSTs
I like the fact that minutes after i saw this
Konami's official accounts post that trident dragion is gonna be in the tins
They basically said " yeah nah, we don't just want your money, we want YOUR ENTIRE WALLET"
We should all revolt against Konami and force them to adapt to the OCG product patterns.
It’s beyond horrible what the actual F they are doing to this game.
Takahashi surely didn’t wish for sth like this for his IP.
Honestly, at that point, RC02/RC03 should still come out to give us releases for RA01-RA03 and Maxx C
Thinking about it too, if the tins and rarity collection were the two big end of year sets, I wouldn’t mind that
you say reprints but you people never give an example
@@anakinsmith4770 but….. I did. There are names of cards above.
The fact that diviner isn't in here is absolutely wild to me
I am annoyed fenrir is not in this as he is an obvious one to print and has already been in the tins so deseves a reprint to lower price. Plus maybe more mmandium cards could have been done too if your printing their field spells
btw I see an official Konami partner passively advertising the set in the chat because he is not allowed to say anything negative to his overlords, lol.
they put skill drain in there because it's on the next ban list just like they did to summon limit
As someone who doesn’t already own much Yugioh product, this is still a really good set.
They reprinted Magician Souls, requiring them to print Illusion of Chaos. Requiring the print of Prep.
That's the highlight of the pack for me. The Souls engine is really cool but I wasn't spending out the nose for short printed Souls.
Honestly I need some of these cards and I am gonna enjoy trying to pull that quarter century Dragoon
Yeah I can't wait to pull an mst
This set was enough to fuck up the cards I was planning on selling, but not enough to where I was like “oh well at least I got this” shit was kinda wack
The 5 Cards that should have been in here (from my list okay) were Branded Fusion to get higher rarities, L&D Dragon because that would have been awesome because of past formate potential, Fenrir, Tidal, and Kurikara
Kurikara is borderline
Fenrir should have been in
Branded Fusion didn’t need the spot
17:55 Out of a pack of RC1, I pulled 3 Summon Limit. A super, a Collectors and a QCR.
They need to make a rarity collection: time wizard. Rarity collection rarity spread with underrated edison, tengu, and goat staples
So, just pick cards from TRC, RC20th, and PremGold RC, and then add Ghost Maxx “C”?
they should've put in Night Beam instead of MST, to respect our boy Dzeeff... :-P
Now I’m even happier I picked up my Euro Ulti Dragion for $45 a while back!
When are we gonna get a Duel Devastator 2?
The answer to this problem isn't bad core sets and fast reprints. It's fixing core sets.
This is why OTS Ultis are way better than starlights or collector rares. OTS Trish > starlight Trish. OTS droll > collector droll
My OTS Albaz/Ecclesia/Aluber sets are screaming right now.
Wait...why would they put DAD in a set centered around centralizing prize pulls in what your qcrs are when the card was printed in qcr already?
I don’t understand what MBT is saying at 8:48. The tins aren’t gone? They are products players look forward to every year?
He's implying that the tins used to be good (promo's that are actually good, not leaving out reprints, etc.).
@@Videoguygamer ah, I see now. thank you for explaining it to me
The recent tins have been ass. No real promos and the last tins just straight up ignored anything worth money from POTE (hence why we had to wait until now for Perlereino)
Cant wait for Morinphen QCR in rarity collection 3 or 4
this is counter productive to what the rc hobby does. the rc hobby understands price break points, and makes combinations of their products so that people of those break points can get them. this set would have been ok, had the base price didnt double for less than double the amount of cards you get
but even then the card pool is awful and so many cards that are just filler
Rarity Collection II is an amazing set because it means we get more Progrussy clips. Thanks, Konami!
ive been messing around with re dragoon in branded... it sucks but fusion deployment and duality are just fun cards to use.
Yknow what would have been cool? Waboku. Effectively the same as Threatening Roar, and outside of the obscure duel terminal stuff it's never been above a common. Put that in over PrePrep or Anti Spell. It's the oldest card that just says no to 10pi dragons.
I was just about to buy garura so this list helped me out
They should have at least printed cards to support upcoming popular archtypes. Dragion, Beckoning Beast, Opening, One for One etc. Hey at least we got Soul of Rage. Like, why Ryko? Why not Punishment Dragon.
They were doing some heavy narcs in their boardrooms when picking this trash list
What is Key Mera
We need more negativity with this set imo, rarity collection should be better most of the failed sets started good or decent and Komoney kept giving the following waves worse and worse product until they went, “well nobody likes this product let’s retire it”
As a on and off yugioh player i like this set. Because it has a lot of the useful generic cards that every new player needs. Not always you had acces to mst, poly, mind control, foolish, dd crow, etc.
Even though they are low cost cards it makes it easier for players to acces this cards without having to ask their old player friends to look for them in boxes of junk cards
3:19 chatter hits him with the "lawn take"
I'm dead
Honesty, I would have been fine if both collections were called the "pauper collections." It's all commons but has reprints of cards that price people out of the game. The collectors keep the value of their shiny cards while I can actually play
They’re called Rarity Collections because they release cards in a half dozen rarities with the minimum rarity being Super, and cards are generally available in at least 3 rarities (Super/Ultra/Ultimate, Secret, and Collectors)
For RA03, RA04/RC01, and RC02, this meant cards were available in a spread of rarities from Super to Collector’s, with 1-2 having Holo/Ghost, but before then, top rarities were kept to the peak cards
For example: the 20th Anniversary Rarity Collection featured 6 apex tier cards, 5 in XSR, and one in Ghost
Holo/Ghost
Blue-Eyes Alternative
Extra Secret
Dark Magician the Dragon Knight
Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon
Shooting Star Dragon
No62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon
Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon
(For RA01: Ghost Blue Eyes; Extra Secret DM, Neos, Stardust, Odd-Eyes, and Utopia)
@@insertcolorherehawk3761 Yes, I know this, I'm saying I'd be fine with a set of all common printings if it meant everyone would play the game with whatever cards they want without breaking the bank while collectors could stay happy that their shines are **Rare**
Rescue cat will be big at end of year and next year…year of the earth dragon in Japan…look it up ;)
All I wanted was ip masqurena but I'm pogging out for the traptrix rafflesia reprint
Feels like if this was a 2020 rarity collection
I got back to back effect veilers in rc1 I'm pretty sure
I like them, as someone who doesn't play current meta. Most of these cards are cards that at some point have been good/playable. Now if you ever want to play older formats, you can get these cards in neat rarities
Konami ocg: why brother ,why ? I give you one job.
Konami tcg: is no my faul they buy anything in high price ( see that people buy trident dragon ) see
Konami ocg : argggg
Rescue art for scareclaw
MST is the best selling card of all time, ahead of Blue-Eyes which is 2nd
phantasmay, crossout, accesscode, souls, slayer, lighsworn charge are some cards I would like to play but still don't have because of their weird price tag (like 10 dollars but x3 for a playset).... there's also plenty of cards with good affordable rarity bumps, like PEP, al art masq and apo, and all the "lower level" hand traps. Sure mst, sarc, warning etc are pointless, but the set overall isn't bad
The one with Team Samurai was so f#cking good xD
Was really hoping for kashtira, tearlament, bystial, and punishment dragon reprint
But i guess I'll just get guardian chimera and rindbrumm singles and call it a day
I really hate the changes they made to plat secret, looks so busy and messy now.
Rage was going up because Yubel and Fiendsmith. It's just a very good card for the deck.
tbh, at least the handtraps and Unchained cards are appreciated
I just wish they would have used the original arts for Mourner and Ogre. I'm not a fan of the alt arts.
There are things that make me personally happy in the set. If my picture wasn't enough of a tell, I've been trying to max rarity Branded and thought "well we'll never get fusion deploy or poly so already not happening". Seeing this I was like "ok now hol up."
Had a starlight slayer I pulled, is nice to have cheap qcrs to match a bit.
I do not understand why there were no kashtira reprints or any Visas lore cards
Kash reprinted last tins
How are Fenrir and Tear Kash not in here?
I'm just happy Perlereino is there
ive been waiting for diviner.... guess im forking 60 bucks or just still waiting!
At least we got Sol and Luna.
I had two predictions for this set: diviner and ultimate slayer. At least i got ultimate slayer right
The best hand trap in the game Retaliating "C" is still missing. Lets pray for RC03 to finally have it
rescue cat is there for me wtf
I knew it would never happen but imagine the reaction if Konami decided this rarity collection was going to be the first reprint of Air Neos. I feel like that alone would've shifted a good chunk of the negative feelings a lot of people had for the set.
