You persevered, accepted the parts you didn’t like/finish, and seemed to enjoy the process too. There’s so many lessons to learn from you and your video with your approach and attitude towards art. Thanks for expressing that you found the exercises/references hard and challenging. Art can be scary and is often challenging, and it’s nice to know that we’re not the only ones experiencing those emotions and challenges with art. Great video, thanks again.
Thanks for your kind words! You’re right, everyone struggles and often times we are our own worst critics in art. I like to be transparent and encouraging. Thanks for watching! 😊👍
I just found this on my FYP a couple hours ago and I decided to watch it later because this sounded fun! I have no regrets watching this because I always had trouble working on art without giving up, figuring out what to make, and making friends. But this video basically solves it all because first it feels like I’m actually drawing with someone, I don’t need to figure out what to draw myself, and also you only do it for 2 minutes and if I spent awhile I would more likely just stop because I will lose interest.
That’s great! I’m so glad you gave it a try and enjoyed it! The more I do the 2 minute videos, the more I see all the benefits everyone is getting from them. I’m so glad I could help solve the obstacles you mentioned! More to come! Thanks for watching and sketching with me! 😊👍
So well done, both the video and your art! I LOVE Neocolor II too, and it's fun to watch your draw something, then the magic happens when you went over it with your waterpen.
All of these look so beautiful! It gives me inspiration that i could do something in just 2 minutes and if I like it, work on it more and if I dont like it, oh well, it was just 2 minutes
Thanks so much! You’re right. It’s a good way to make a start and follow the fun. It doesn’t have to be a great outcome, but it’s a little practice either way. Thanks for watching! 😊👍
This is a great warm up exercise and fun way to improve your drawing skills. I’m always looking for quick fun warm ups to do before getting to work in my studio.
I did not do this with you and think the lantern was my favorite. The keys were good too, but probably coloring that swayed me. Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great way to relax and try something new without too much pressure.
The more I do timed drawings the faster I get. You start learning to be more expressive and worry less about details. It's really changed my drawing brain and my perspective on what's really important to capture about what I'm looking at. I liked your lantern!
Thanks! I agree! I don’t do timed drawings much.. but when I do, I can definitely feel and see a difference. Drawing has always been a struggle for me because I always seem to get too focused on the details and then get bored.(like I did with the top of the lantern) I’d rather scribble or intuitively sketch something. I just need to make myself do it more often like you said. I’m sure I would see a big difference over time. Thanks for sharing your experience! 😊👍
I enjoyed drawing along with you with this one. I like your end results, I hope mine turn out ok also. I prefer to be able to join in rather than just watch video demos!
That was so much fun to watch - and also a little stressful!. I'm a beginner artist, and these types of timed exercises might be just the thing for me. So glad I found your channel!
I’m glad you found me too! Welcome! It is a little stressful.. but in a fun way. You just have to remind yourself that it’s only a 2 minute sketch. It’s not supposed to look great or even good. I hope you give it a try and have fun with it! 😊👍
First time watching one of your videos. I love your sweet nature and that your not afraid to show your quick sketch results. I will try doing these with you cuz I work so slow trying to get everything perfect even if its just a sketch. I would like to work more loosely and I think your videos will help me with that cuz you sound like your having so much fun.😁 Thank you for sharing. I will definitely watch your other videos 😊
Welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I have the same issue with being slow drawing and too focused on details. I think the more I practice being “sketchy” or “scribble”, the more I have loosened up. I like to laugh at my mistakes. It makes everything more fun! 😊👍
This was SOOOOOOOO fun to do!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I did it along with u. It made me feel less lonely. I was just about to have a panic attack (I suffer from that 😢) and remembered I had this video (that I had in my watched later folder), AND THE PANIC ATTACK DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! 😭❤ Thank u! It would be awesome to see more videos like this! I know I can do it alone, but is not the same. It was very interesting to rewatched it and see where you decided to begin draw your drawing vs what I decided. Oh girl, I really enjoyed this!
You are so welcome! I’m glad this video helped! I will absolutely be doing more in the future. I have another 2 minute quick sketch video on my channel. It was a few months back if you’d like to check that one out in the meantime. I agree, it’s always more fun doing exercises like this with someone and I’m so glad I could be that someone for you! ❤️😊👍
@@artbyheather Oh thank u! Let me see if I can find it! By the way, I just finished now tweaking them. So looking at my previous comment, I spend more than an hour relaxing and feeling great thx to u! Hope I can find the other video. 🥰
Here is the video link: ua-cam.com/video/68vCLX8y0_w/v-deo.html For some reason I wasn't able to send it on my phone. Hopefully that works for whenever you need some more relaxation. Happy to Help! 🥰👍
Hi Heather! Thank you for the inspo, I've followed along too! I did the keys and phone, and did a small tiktok crediting back to your channel. Hope that's OK! ❤️
I love the concept of timing yourself. I want to try that. You are braver than I am . I will always start with a pencil. Good job. Just found your channel and I love it. Have a great day.😊
I love neocolor 2s ! I only have about ten as yet but would love more. The gold is my fav! I want to get some stabilo woodys for my little girls but they’re a bit pricey wherever I look. Great video
Yes the Woodys are expensive. I got them for Christmas. I would definitely wait for a sale to get them. I’m so glad I found the Neocolor 2s also! They’re so fun and look great! Thanks for watching!😊👍
No. Unfortunately this exact sketchbook is only sold at Hobby Lobby. ( It’s a Master’s Touch - Mixed Media sketchbook) The sketchbooks I have linked are in some of my other videos.
I love the shiny 3D effect you got with the keys! I have a set of Neocolor II’s that I don’t use nearly enough… I may just try this warmup exercise with them. Thanks for the ideas!

Thanks so much! I’m so addicted to the neo IIs! Definitely glad I gave them a try! You’re right, the water is like magic to watch! 😊👍
Love it all! But the lantern is my favorite!
Thanks! The lantern was definitely my favorite too! I love that it’s purple! 😊👍

It can be stressful.. but with the 2 minute outcomes it’s a lot more fun. I think it really wakes you up. Thanks for watching! 😊👍
I’m here for the journey! It’s been great watching your videos!
Love this series also, your videos are really relaxing and inspiring. I love the 2 minute idea and then how they look all finished too. ❤
Thanks! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the channel and getting some inspiration! ❤️😊👍

I love the lantern. I totally get loosing perspective. When I draw I start out with no perspective, and never find it. Lol
🤣👍 I know the feeling! Thanks for watching!
I ĺove your phone scatch. Thank for telliing your thoughts while scatching. That helps me a lot.

I really like the idea of a timed sketch, especially for a beginner like me. ❤🇦🇺
It’s a great way to practice and learn! I’m so glad you’re enjoying them! 😊👍
I LOVE this. What a great way to just have fun mark making. Thank you for showing me such a great forgiving way to practice. :)
Feel free to play around with timing also. Try 1 minute, 3 minutes or 5 minutes. I hope you give it a try! Thanks for watching! 😊👍
This was so fun to watch and your music was a great vibe too! So glad your video showed up on my feed today!
Thanks so much for your feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😊👍

Hi Heather! Thank you for the inspo, I've followed along too! I did the keys and phone, and did a small tiktok crediting back to your channel. Hope that's OK! ❤️

Thank you for your video. What is the sketchbook you are using?😊
This is a Master’s Touch mixed media sketchbook. I believe it’s a Hobby Lobby brand. Thanks for watching! 😊👍
What do the keys go to? 🤔
Your creativity. 😉👍
Are the links for the sketchbooks this exact one?
No. Unfortunately this exact sketchbook is only sold at Hobby Lobby. ( It’s a Master’s Touch - Mixed Media sketchbook) The sketchbooks I have linked are in some of my other videos.
