This reminds me of how my brother used to rearrange my barbies when I wasn't playing with them. I'd leave the room for a while and come back later to find them naked on top of each other in the hot tub, or he'd have stuck one in the mailbox, or some such.

Mego's Cher doll sold very well in 1976 and she even outsold Barbie that year. But their other celebrity female fashion doll's did not sell very well except a few of them.
I had the Cher and Farrah dolls. They were very played with. Just 2 weeks ago, we moved and I actually donated a little suitcase with those and a few more childhood Barbies. I don't know what I was thinking. I was always fascinated with the Cher and Farrah's long fingernails.
They really did do a great job with her. Of course she is marketed more as Julia than Diahann Carol, so she is not exactly the same kind. But she is still lovely.

Thank you for watching and I am glad you enjoyed. The think is...it is all done in fun. I love that they were made, I love that they were part of my gen, but sure, they look a little funny sometimes. But I still love that you collect these. Enjoy.
I had a Cher doll, chewed her fingers as a kid. But my favorite was my Marie Osmond doll. Her body was able to fit in all Barbie clothes. I took her everywhere.
I had a small handful of the dolls mentioned and some others not mentioned. What I have never owned in my life is a Barbie doll, as my mother refused to buy them for me (or my sister) because she thought Barbie was ugly. The other kids made fun of us mercilessly. No wonder I have been in therapy for 33 years. Nevertheless, I loved this video. p.s.: My favorite doll that I owned out of the ones that were shown was the Cher doll and recognized the silver and black dress as well as the red one with the dragon on it. Oh how I miss her!
I got the Donnie doll for Christmas in 1977 or maybe it was1978, my older sister got the Marie doll the same year. Neither one of us liked or watched them. We both wanted the KISS dolls but got them instead. One of the most disappointing Christmases of our childhood lol
So you were expecting fine French wine, but instead got plastic bottles full of sewage water from an cold war Eastern European suburb...can't say that I cannot understand that you were disappointed.

@GENXPERIENCE it was I was 19 20 yo slot of my former classmates and go out every weekend and buy Christmas presents for my younger brothers kiss dolls startrek sets and race sets
This is a great video! You have a new subscriber! I actually have the Andy Gibb doll - always great for a good laugh. I always put my finger over his name on the vest and make people guess who he is supposed to be. I have Arnold Horshack, Evil Knievel, Donny Osmond, Shaun Cassidy, Farrah Fawcett (Mego), Mork, Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Fonzi, Planet of the Apes Set, Erik Estrada/Ponch, Starsky and Hutch, Brooke Shields , among others. This video has me written all over it!
I love your Andy Name Game, lol. What a collection. So glad you liked it. And know it was all done in love. These were fanstic...just like your pic with Coco Peru.
I remember the day I got my first Cher doll. I could have died from happiness. Later that day, I received the whole Montgomery Ward exclusive wardrobe.
I had the Donny and Marie dolls and the Dorothy Hamill Doll which which you could mount on a base and make her spin and glide around like she was really skating
Yeah, those 90s dolls were starting to leave my territory, but MC and Ice were certainly part of our experience...X & Y overlap sometimes. OH, and B George....OMG. HOly SH$T
Thanks for pointing out the Kitty O'Neill doll. I knew there was a third doll, but I thought it was Stockyard Channing, seeing that those came out when Grease came out.
The Boy George doll looks like a clown and I don't think they sold very well when they came out. These dolls were probably put on a clearance sale a month after their release and the ones that never sold in stores were probably just thrown in the garbage even when new in box.since very few people wanted them.
Boy George's doll is highly sought after by George's fans & sells for hundreds of dollars, even now. There were several versions of the doll as well. Some dolls had bright red hair, such as George's look seen in the video of "The War Song." Also, there was a Boy Snoopy doll as well, with Snoopy dressed as Boy George.
I got one of my male friends a KISS action figure (Peter Criss with kitty makeup) when we were in college (Y2K era) and he loved it. My older cousins had the Donny & Marie dolls as well as the Cher dolls. I am a Xennial and I remember we had Spice Girls dolls, too.
I had the first Cher doll, she was terrifying! They improved for sure. So many of these dolls look like they’re just desperate to get out of their boxes. But I’ve always stuck to the mod era Barbies, though I did go insane for the better Xena dolls. They were awesome. I’d have loved a Wonder Woman doll and… those Abba dolls, in all honesty they’re as hilarious as the Andy Gibb doll. And now Mattel have done a gorgeous Stevie Nicks doll! I’ve been hanging out for that one. Was there ever a Freddie Mercury doll? It would be so cool if they did a Bohemian Rhapsody era doll. I loved this so much, thank you!
I had a Six Million Dollar man figure and a SWAT van. There were figures on the box but I never had those. My sis had a 3ft Marie Osmond doll. There was a Barbie that size as well. The Marie doll freaked me out. There were also mannequin type heads of Barbie, Marie and Cher. I vaguely remember the Cher version. Girls could style their hair, apply makeup and jewelry.
A 3 foot Marie should freak you out, lol. Any Six Million Toy would be the bomb. Great collection. T hank you for sharing the memories. My sister had those Busts for hair and make up too, although I loved to make them look really over the top.
Your videos are fantastic! I had a number of the dolls that you mentioned Dorothy Hamill, Wonder Woman et al. I also had : Grow Up Skipper, The Bionic Woman, Jody the Country Doll, Suntan Tuesday Taylor, Dusty, Hispanic Barbie, the female version of Evel Knieval w/ cycle,The Sunshine Family, Sindy, Rhinestone from Dazzle and Her Friends, the '70's African Amer. version of Ballerina Barbie (Cara?), Curtis, hair styling Barbie bust, Mimi the singing doll, Starr the teenage doll, Fashion Photo Barbie & Midge and the Superstar Stage Show. Good grief, seeing this listing makes me look like Veruca Salt, but I Promise I wasn't a spoiled kid ( I would've gotten a whooping if I was! 😆 )I loved all of my dolls and was super grateful that my parents bought me my dolls. Thank you for the memories!
I had a New Kids on the Block doll and several of the 90210 dolls. Fun fact - they only made the 5 most popular characters (Brandon, Brenda, Kelly, Dylan, and Donna) out of the 8 main cast into dolls. 1 of which was, of course, Tori Spellings character😜. No luck if your favorite was David, Steve, or Andrea...
These dolls bring back memories. One of my cousins had Cher and the original Charlie's Angel's dolls. I knew a neighbor use to have both Donnie and Marie. I still have Diana Ross. Three of the original StarWars 12-inch action figures. One 12-inch lndiana Jones. Three 1990s Hasbro 12-inch action figures.
Oh my Lord! I was such a lucky kid to have had some of these! Wonder Woman (my fave), the Bionic Woman and her chair, Evel Knievel, and Brooke Shields. There were so many spectacular fashion/Barbie-type dolls. I had these 2 fashion model dolls: brunette with blue ombre chiffon skirt and blonde with sunset ombre chiffon skirt. Each came with a camera and stand for photo shoots. I've looked for info on those for years, but I've found nothing 😔
This was an absolutely hilarious trip down memory lane.♥ I had the Diana Ross doll. I don't remember asking for it and I honestly don't remember them advertising that doll, but I know my mom and dad loved the Supremes later known as Diana Ross and the Supremes. Her nails were so long that I actually used to scratch myself! I loved painting them of course, red was her favorite. LOL Her lashes were really long and eventually they fell out. 😭You know the 6 million dollar man and woman probably should have been on this list. I had the Lindsay Wagner doll and she really had a mannish look to her LOL but I loved that she made the creaking noise from the show.
I would steal my brother's GI Joe doll. He and my
Barbie had date nights. Thank you for bringing back memories.

Thank you for watching and I am glad you enjoyed. The think is...it is all done in fun. I love that they were made, I love that they were part of my gen, but sure, they look a little funny sometimes. But I still love that you collect these. Enjoy.
...I always wished they'd done a set of Duran Duran fashion dolls
Or Adam Ant ❤
I had a Cher doll, chewed her fingers as a kid. But my favorite was my Marie Osmond doll. Her body was able to fit in all Barbie clothes. I took her everywhere.
Marie was versatile and so friendly with that big smile. Thank you for sharing your memories.
I'm still holding on to my Mego Starsky & Hutch action figures!
One of my favorite shows of ALL time. Loved them and their car.
I had a Cher doll with the pink halter dress, Donnie & Marie, Charlies Angels and their van. The fun childhood memories with all my dolls ❤
My favorite dolls were the Barbie ballerina that came out in the 70s and the Darci doll
I had those too.
Hahaha at Cher’s first face🤣
Yup
I had Donny and Marie, the bionic woman and John Travolta. I wanted the Cher and Wonder woman dolls, but you know parents, they always got the dolls I didn't want.
I worked the assembly at memory in Holbrook NY York for two years from Farrah Cher, kiss dolls styling heads etc in 1978-1979 time period
That is awesome. Must have been kinda fun.
@GENXPERIENCE it was I was 19 20 yo slot of my former classmates and go out every weekend and buy Christmas presents for my younger brothers kiss dolls startrek sets and race sets
I loved my Cher and my Farrah Fawcett doll
No matter what they were glamorous.
You were so very fortunate. THat is some wardrobe. Hey, I still think Cher is incredible and her doll was awesome. SO glad you had her.
@@GENXPERIENCE Great video. You can't go wrong with celebrity dolls.
Class of 1985 here..70s childhood and preteens, full on 80s young adulthood, 90s adulthood
You got some of the best of everything X had to offer
I still own my Jam doll.
The Travoltadoll is awfull.
I didnt tknow Blossom had a doll.
Now i NEED one.
Grate video X
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yeah, John Travolta was a bit creepy, but Blossom...go get them. There were 3. They look pretty good.
the amazing cher doll
I still have Sonny and Cher. LOL
Damn, actually that is pretty cool. Keep em safe.
I had the Donny and Marie dolls and the Dorothy Hamill Doll which which you could mount on a base and make her spin and glide around like she was really skating
Yikes, Boy George looks like Jack Nichalson Joker! We had Mc Hammer and Vanilla Ice. I’m pretty sure they are in a box somewhere
Yeah, those 90s dolls were starting to leave my territory, but MC and Ice were certainly part of our experience...X & Y overlap sometimes. OH, and B George....OMG. HOly SH$T
I have a Cher doll and they did a good job on the likeness.
Those pop star and music dolls were great too, they were passed my prime, but certainly are cool.
Why does the Andy Gibb doll look like Martha Stewart? Sorry Martha.
Sorry, Martha, lol. I love everyone's comments on different people that doll looks like...they're great. I just know, that isn't Andy Gibb!
That Cher doll is iconic.
The Boy George doll looks like he's from Insane Clown Posse!
With all due respect to some awesome Culture Club songs...I think that doll was a CLOWN
LOL - Juggalo Georgie!
I still have my Donny and Marie dolls and a Shawn Casidy doll. And I totally remember that Brooke Shields ad, lol.
I think there was a limited edition or Exclusive Freddie. As for Abba, yeah, they are just about as unrecognizable as Andy, lol.
The Cher doll face finally was spot on. From a distance she could be mistaken for Morticia Addams.
NOw that means it was finally done right, lol
Thank you, you're very kind. I find it all fascinating and poked fun all in Love. So happy youvenjoyed and shared.
I had a Farrah Faucet doll!
I have some of these. I have Cher, Dorothy Hamill, Faraha , Princess Diana, Vanna White, Christy Brinkley. And more.
I almost have Diana in there. Vanna? That is awesome for such a limited edition piece.
I know we had the Cheryl Ladd, Marie Osmond, and the Chrissy dolls. I almost forgot but when I saw those outfits it was like OH we had those!!
I loved my Kitty O'Neil doll! And, somewhere, I think I still have Vanna White.
No way. I had Vanna in my show, but it was too long and she got the cut. Amazing, but not surprising, that she got a doll.
I had a Cher doll as a child. Thanks for the memory flash
So glad you had that doll, she was probably a wonderful plaything. I loved that there so many. Thanks for sharing.
I had the (4) small Charlie's Angels, Dorothy Hamill and Farrah dolls.
The 2 Farrahs were pretty different. But I think having all the Angels would have been wonderful.
Talk about getting the shaft, lol. Interesting info. Thank you
I had a New Kids on the Block doll and the MC Hammer doll
These dolls bring back memories. One of my cousins had Cher and the original Charlie's Angel's dolls. I knew a neighbor use to have both Donnie and Marie. I still have Diana Ross. Three of the original StarWars 12-inch action figures. One 12-inch lndiana Jones. Three 1990s Hasbro 12-inch action figures.
Had all the Large Size Star Wars and I know Donny and Marie were in the house somewhere, lol. You were very fortunate to have such a collection.
That is exciting. There were so many, and I think it would be wonderful to have in your collection.
I don’t see any difference between the dolls and the people, they nailed it!
I remember wanting the Dorothy Hamill cut as I kid. I got it, too :)
She and that hair were a STATEMENT. You were on point with hair fashion.
Kitty ONeill is awesome! Wish Ida known who she was back then when I was little
I Love your Inflection on words.
😉
I love that you noticed. Thank you, sincerely.
I had the Jem Collection and all 5 of the New Kids On The Block dolls
Well, that's my nightmare material for the next week all sorted. Haha
OMG! Im really getting old!😂 I have the NKOTB dolls until today😂
My mom still has my Joe doll. Unfortunately my sister and I reassigned his gender. We drew makeup on his face and duct tapped breast on his chest.
This is a great memory, thank you. Sounds like your mother wanted to live through you.
@@GENXPERIENCE 😂Absolutely! ♥
