Celine has always known her voice inside and out. She knows exactly what she’s doing! The “nasal” sound she produces on certain notes is totally a staple of hers. She’s able to control the speed of her vibrato, control when she uses vibrato, etc. She’s always watching the person she is singing with, and she’s just an all around nice person. Great descriptive video! As someone else mentioned as well, her duet with Pavarotti “I Hate You Then I Love You” is also great.
There have been several singers who I have absolutely loved throughout my life, but whenever Bocelli sings, I always catch myself holding my breath momentarily and I close my eyes and feel it in my soul! He is mesmerising and captivates me every time.
Hello! I love this performance, and what a lovely analysis to watch. I don't know if you noticed, but at some point Celine takes Andreas hand and pulls him towards her a little bit. She does this because Andrea is standing a little too close to the piano. You can see him move ever so slightly backwards throughout the video. Celine notices, takes his hand, and make sure Andrea is standing in a better spot. I just love how Celine is his eyes here, and how she looks out for him.
Thank you for posting this. Great comments, very specific, nicely explained. So many people nowadays commenting on vocal performances on UA-cam only do reactions or vague comments - this video is the opposite.
Thanks, for this reaction. I love Celine, and I love this duet. It was really interested to listen to the breakdown in their techniques and interpretations. Both are phenomenal talents, and I guess one’s appreciation lies in their love for a style of musicianship, whether it’s classical or pop- leaning, no right or wrong answer. This song and this version are master classes in their respective genres. Thanks for Illuminating the differences in their vocal stylings, really enjoyed it. You should do more pop-focused reactions, I’d definitely subscribe.
My favorite thing about this song is how it aleays hits the feels, regardless of who is singing. The arrangment of a french canadian singing the English part which lets be honest Celine always has a slight French accent on her English singing. Which of course I love and is one of the reasons she's so identifiable. I do enjoy that she blends her classical training with pop vocals to make for a very strong voice that sticks to your bones. Bocelli, well, its Bocelli. His classical training and ability to maintain his lung power is amazing. Very little movement is shown in his body including for diaphragmic breaths. His tone of course is on point and his clear words make me feel like I understand Italian. I can't say anything horrible about either of these singers in general and together they are magical and inspirational. My favorite upgrade of this song is from Pentatonix. The classic will never disappoint
I love your reactons and Andrea and Celine are perfect in this wonderful song. I hope you will do the nessun dorma from this concert to. In that song Andrea gifs his all end he gives me chills every time. Thanks fore this great reaction.
I love this song. Do you know the Celtic Woman group? They also have a beautiful version of The Prayer, but the Italian part is only instrumental. Very nice too
Great reaction Celine has such a wonderful voice. I've always wanted to hear what you thought about David Phelps voice do you think you can do a reaction to him singing Whitney's I have nothing. I think it will blow you away
Great reaction to 2 truly great singers. I would like to recommend Dimash Qudaibergen The Story Of One Sky. It's an amazing MV which I think you'll really enjoy.
Sorry but I have never seen your reactions but this popped up as a video to watch but I have already seen it, and want to offer a suggestion for you to watch the cover version of this song by Lucy and Martha Thomas, who owned this song !! Lucy was 18 and her younger sister was 12 when they sang what has been desscribed by musical people as the best version ever done. Lucy is a new force to be reconned with, she is STUNNING, and puts Celine and whitney, Bette, Eta James , any singer in there place. Check her out and her little sister. they are British and FANTASTIC !!!!
I prefer this one and apparently so does David Foster, although I'm not sure it was very smart of Bolton to try to sing it with "The RING" (big open recognizable sound). She's from Sicily and probably could have sung BOTH parts (Curiously odd for native English speaking singer to sing Italian to a native Italian and a native Italian (who speaks 5 languages' fluently) singing mostly English part. ua-cam.com/video/xkFSNXwBVRw/v-deo.htmlsi=cndzH_yTX4Erqan_
I actually heard her sing that LIVE back in MTL the recording that most know of was filmed in Québec city for a televised special.... so many anecdote I can tell you about it.... let me just say, when I heard this, it was the ENCORE at the end of a concert. I remember thinking "oh dear... she will not be able to sustain this a the end of a concert!" Well like a well trained athlete, she knows her limits and was able to wow the crowded stadium... The musician in her gives us great music and the trained instrument that is her voice gives us the precision and variety of sounds rare in any singer.
That’s a valid opinion - I don’t personally agree but I can see how someone could think that. Whenever a singer has a unique sound like Celine, it’s going to be met with criticism. Celine can really belt it out with the best of them. I would argue she’s not shouting at all, because if she were, she wouldn’t be able to perform as consistently as she did her entire career.
@@nickhiggsthesinger in her prime ... Celine could out belt MOST. If you have a chance to listen to "le Blues de Businessman" 1995 I think the most impressive thing was that she could belt live but her training allowed her to sing concert at full throttle.... impressive.
Celine is so known for blowing away everyone she sings with, but in this duo, Andrea totally blows away Celine. His voice is so strong that when they sing together, his voice almost drowns her out even when they go loud and high…. especially when they go loud and high Andreas voice is clearly the prominent sound. Andrea is also one of the very few who can hold notes longer than Celine. His breath control is unreal. I am always amazed at how seemingly little effort it looks like Andrea is expending but this big sound comes out even when he barely opens his mouth.

@@nickhiggsthesinger do you think you could do a cover of the marseillaise? A few years ago you did a bit but not a full one.

"two of the greatest vocalists to ever live" -- high praise indeed!
Your analysis is wonderful. Thank you so much!!
Its especially special when the song was specifically written for the two of them. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
more Celine Please
Will do!
Celine's commitment and discipline to singing will definitely make her continue singing with her illness.

Your reaction and comments are so INTERESTING and EDUCATIVE...THANKS
Two angels singing live 🥰💗
This is really good reaction and explanation! Thanks!
I would love to see more Céline reactions!
2:23 ah yes this is what I personally call "The Curve". This is so iconic and I love it
she has a song with Pavarotti called I Love you then i hate you and they did it live ! we’d love if you check that out ❤

An angel voice, and if God could sing in a human voice would like Andrea bocceli

React to Celine Dion's "I Can't Help Falling in Love in 1993" one of the best vocal performances I've seen

I like Charlotte Church & Josh Groban’s performance of this song.
It would be great if they added reverb because their vocals here are a bit dry and forward
