Got to meet Josh Groban at the stage door after a performance of Sweeney Todd he starred in. Not only did he sign my playbill, but I got to talk to him briefly. I told him that he was my favorite singer and that it was incredible to see him live. He told me “I can’t wait to see you on stage someday.” I don’t know how he knew I was a performer, but that was the most inspiring thing anyone has ever said to me. As a 17 year old who wants to be Broadway someday, all I have to do when I feel bad is think about his words to me. I will never forget his kindness.
In our home we love the voice and songs of Josh Groban. When the kids were little we played it in the car during long rides and the kids loved it too. We once attended a concert and it was lovely. His voice is like blanket, it embraces you with its softness.
I have no word to describe his voice!!! Angely, velvet, crystal clear, the voice of old friend on Christmass morning... I'm so proud that I'm his fan for 20 years! Twenty years ago... It seems like it was just yesterday. I was a teenager. I didn't go to school that day and I was sleeping under a blanket. At that time we had a video recorder... Between sleeping and waking up, the voice of an angel caressed my ear! I felt like I was becoming weightless and floating in the air! I jumped up, I shouted to my sister "record it!! Record it!!!" It was the music video of "you raise me up"...
Yes, his vibrato. And his voice has that not so common extra timbre. But also while he's not particularly a big guy he has a big guy vocal cavity and he just resonates beautifully. And he's really well trained.
The first time i ever heard Josh Groban was when he sand You Raise Me Up on Oprah. My sister recorded it for me because she thought i would like it. I loved it, i cried then went out immediately and bought the album. He's about as close to perfect as you can get.
I saw him several years ago. THIS song had me bawling like a baby. He's one of my very favorite singers. Then came Mitch Grassi... oh dear! They are both singers that I don't worry if they're going to make the note. It's a given. His voice feels effortless, comfortable, and creamy.
Josh’s voice always makes me feel peaceful. I’m sure it’s partly his voice and partly his choice of songs. I have been a fan for years. I’m a new subscriber, UA-cam recommended your channel to me because I am a huge fan of Pentatonix and you recently reacted to their Hallelujah. I hope to see you react to more Josh, PTX and any other favorite singers we may have in common.
Love Josh Groban and he should be more popular than he is as his voice is fantastic. He can do opera to pop. You should listen to his rendition of 'O Holy Night' which is stupendous and the best version ever.
He has a very "unique" voice. But its one of my favorite voices ! Thats why I look forward to hearing him on the radio during Christmas time, with O'holly night 😌
Pentaholic here. Loved your reaction and your comments about enunciation. They all are great at this but in my opinion especially Mitch. Sound of Silence, Amazing Grace and The Prayer are perfect examples ❤
Loved your review...Josh Groban is so classically trained that it is a joy to listen and watch. Also, I think part of his appeal is his sincerity in all that he does. You feel in the moment of his lyrics. .... He is believable when he sings and not to mention such a wonderful and caring person in real life. .... Wish I could go and see Sweeney Todd. That show must be fantastic.
I love Josh Groban. He is AMAZING in concert. His voice is like a piece of fine silk. ❤. I have had the privilege of singing this song in a few weddings and I always get choked up right before the key change for some reason when singing it. I use to not like my vibrato and now I embrace it because I learned it is not a flaw. I use to years ago but not any more.
Thank you very much for this interesting reaction. As a teenager Josh took singing lessons from a teacher in LA, Seth Riggs (Josh says he was in the Boy Scout with Riggs son), who worked with stars such as Natalie Cole, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand and others (see Wikipedia). In 2002 (maybe even before) David Romano was his vocal couch for a few years. In an interview Romano said that Josh chose classical training in lessons. (here is a short interview with Romano gushing over Josh’s ability ua-cam.com/video/WRDNHf8MK5E/v-deo.html). Josh never sang opera. He did some “pop” duets with opera sings like Bocelli (We will meet once again) ua-cam.com/video/Bg8A30a8tXM/v-deo.html or Placido Domingo “La tua semplicita” ( ua-cam.com/video/0zgiePdLGrQ/v-deo.html or the chanson “Sous le ciel de Paris“ ua-cam.com/video/kO2MFCLQVgw/v-deo.html BTW, Josh is now the demon barber of Fleet Street on Broadway!!! ua-cam.com/video/JNvZzKy6gwU/v-deo.html His catalog has many different styles. Josh is the reason why i became a singer.. But every time he goes to my country for a concert, something devastating happens to me, or someone close to me. His first concert - Dad had an aneurysm the day of his concert. His second concert - I got hospitalized.... both of those times, i bought a ticket to watch him. Both of those times, didn't get to watch him live. haha! He's only been here twice btw. lol
Josh Groban was ascending a grand staircase during a concert in Toronto a number of years ago.. and tripped up the stairs... oops. What a pro, though. Barely a blip before he caught himself and kept singing!
I love Josh since “To Where You Are” Would you please react more Josh Groban (my favorite are ‘Remember When It Rained’ live performance and Josh Groban in Concert 2002, Thanks
Again love this video. I'm a violinist, this may be a "dumb" question, but do women ever sing, or need to sing in "falsetto" to get a better tone on a high note?
Hey Nick! Big fan of the channel here. I’ve been watching you for awhile and notice how reacting to Jewish music are the videos that go viral for you. I’m Jewish myself and so I would like to suggest to react to “Shiru L’Hashem” by Shalsheles Junior , as it’s a great song to analyse and I think would do great for your channel. Either way have a great day and best of luck‼️
I would love if you make a reaction video to a recoding of Dido ans Aeneas, Z.626 / Act 3. „Thy hand, Belinda When I am Laid to earth!“ by Henry Purcell. It’s one of my absolute favourite pieces of music! I love the recording with Jessye Norman.
I call his sound rich, his voice is rich (not in the bling bling sort of way🤣). Have you done any reactions to the bass gang? Your commenting on the difference between bass baritone and tenor really makes me want to see your reaction to them, because Tomi P and Peter Barber especially, can hit low low notes but they can also get way up there (especially Tomi P)!
Personally I dont think the high A4 in the keychange sounded all that great. Sure he hit the pitch but it sounded very strained and nassaly as if he brought the sound too forward. Everything else was great tho! I just think that was a bit much for him.

Fun fact, kinda answering your question. Josh trained as a musical theatre performer, which is likely why he sings with so much vibrato.
His voice is a warm velvet blanket on a rainy day. A hug that holds my falling pieces.
Exactly this! Perfect description

Warm and genuine; melodic and sincere. Josh Groban is the best of the best in my mind and in my heart.
I have no word to describe his voice!!!

How do you not like Josh Groban...like honestly how?? He is one of the most talented male vocalists of the 20th & 21st Century...
It’s true!
I agree
Yes, his vibrato. And his voice has that not so common extra timbre. But also while he's not particularly a big guy he has a big guy vocal cavity and he just resonates beautifully. And he's really well trained.
Sincere, powerful, wonderful, very clear his range is amazing.

JB is one of the greats, that's for sure!
thank you so much for reviewing josh groban! it was on my bucket list to see him and i was able to do it when he was on tour with idina menzel!
Hope you enjoyed it!
I love Josh Groban. Hope to hear more from him. PTX fan too.

Warm and calming...i love him!!!!
He’s great!!
@@nickhiggsthesinger I love his albums, I love his songs, he is a real balm for the soul!!
Loved your review...Josh Groban is so classically trained that it is a joy to listen and watch. Also, I think part of his appeal is his sincerity in all that he does. I wish I could see it too.
He's NOT classically trained, it's a natural talent with a little coaching thrown in.
I love the information and technical aspects that you share. Makes me look at singing in a whole new way.
I’m so happy to hear it! I want to make singing as easy and as accessible to people as possible
he is what I call "a goosebump" singer , very few singers male or female have that quality, Karen Carpenter, Whitney Houston, Josh etc.....
Just beautiful! Love!
The most gorgeous baritone ever!
I love Josh Groban. He is AMAZING in concert. His voice is like a piece of fine silk. ❤. His voice is hauntingly beautiful
Both of those times, didn't get to watch him live. haha!
He's only been here twice btw. lol
He has a clean and warm sounding vocal with the right amount of highs. So Operatic. Smooth Like Dean Martin.
Alto... Tenor...Bass...his voice is heavenly.
Angelic, calm or Heavenly ❤
Perfection ❤❤
His voice is on the verge of operatic. His concert is still my favorite. He didn't sing You Raise Me Up until the third encore.
I think he has an incredible voice, my favourite song is remember when it rained. ❤
It’s actually Bb4 at the top with the last verse in Gb major
His voice is so rich!
Clear, excellent pitch; really like his songs in foreign languages as well. "pop/classical" genre? perhaps "classical/pop" ?
Josh Groban is my favorite singer
I love Josh voice warn tender his great!!!
A rare combo of bright and resonant, at times a bit pleasantly....tinny? in his middle range.
Loved your vowel modification tip!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Josh Groban was ascending a grand staircase during a concert in Toronto a number of years ago.. and tripped up the stairs... oops. What a pro, though. Barely a blip before he caught himself and kept singing!
9:24 AND IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Angel.
Ich singe gerne. Nur für mich selbst und doch, lerne ich gerne dazu. Es macht wirklich Spaß dir zuzuhören und etwas zu lernen. 🥰
I love Josh since “To Where You Are”

he es a classical crossover singer or popopera
Would you try with Anthem? (Chess the musical)… and maybe Pity the child with Adam Pascal also from chess
Very interesting I enjoyed your show
Glad you enjoyed it
Your great 👍 thank you!
Happy to help!
I think he has a clear voice in low tone.
Clear, smooth, and powerful
He’s the male Celine dion
the song is actually Norwegian: it's written by Secret Garden. ua-cam.com/video/sHpwbh9lxxY/v-deo.html
His voice changed compared to a few years ago, but he can still sing good.
I call his sound rich, his voice is rich (not in the bling bling sort of way🤣).

Classify Tim Foust voice 😂
Well he’s no Taylor Swift😆
Not bad, but Selah do it sooo much better 🐨🐨
Effortless
