@Tucson Jim The Xbox One X is not the best out there because it only offers HDR10 from discs. Dolby Vision is only available from streaming video apps - not from discs. HDR10+ is absent.
@Tucson Jim Well, in some cases the difference between Dolby Vision and base HDR10 is negligible. However, in some titles the difference is quite dramatic. It varies from movie to movie. Dolby Vision is actual far more useful in TV's that DON'T go above 1,000 cd/m², than ones that do, because then the TV gets the dynamic metadata to help it correctly tone-map a scene. When a TV can do 1,000 nits, HDR10 doesn't require the tone mapping that it does on a TV that has, say 600 or 700 nits of peak brightness. And, I have a 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos/DTS-X setup for audio too.
@Tucson Jim Take, for instance, UltraHighDefDigest's review of Valerian, "I've updated the score on the picture quality because the DV offers a dramatic improvement over both the HD SDR and HDR10 encodes. While resolution and clarity understandably don't show any change, contrast is significantly brighter and more vivid with blazingly crisp and intense whites. There is also a major difference in the specular highlights, making lights radiate and glisten much brighter while looking tighter and sparkling without ruining the finer details. Even more surprising are the richer, silkier blacks throughout, providing the image with better dimensionality and superb, inky shadows. The best part, the area where Dolby Vision proves superior over HDR10, is the richly-saturated palette display far more sumptuous primaries, like the luminous blues of lights, the jubilant reds on some of the aliens and the more true-to-life greens of the solider uniforms. The same goes for the vividly luminous and wider selection of secondary hues which continuously dazzle the screen."
Panasonic UB900 is a fantastic 4k Blu Ray player! The picture and sound quality (through my Sonos surround system) are excellent and the 4k streaming is great too! Worth the money.
This is great. I’m a person who likes to watch old BluRay movies from 1930 to 2019 and needing a good Blu-ray player is essential. Thanks to this video I can see what options I can get!
BD player is always relevant. With the right player and TV, the full features of the disc (HDR, Dolby Vision, etc and Dolby Atmos) can be enjoyed which you can't get on most movies on Netflix (all are in HD except that which are produced by Netflix) and others streaming services.
I prefer the panasonic before the oppo, I do not know much about this Chinese brand, and I do not doubt that it is good but panasonic is a true beast of the blu- ray
Am I the only one missing the styling of the early 2000s Sony Top-of-the-Line DVD-players? The wide silver ones with the big screens and all the knobs? This Sony UBP-X700, this model that is supposed to be a flagship model is just looking so much like ... A BUDGET model!
I think all are good but i like Panasonic UB900 ,if any one agreed with me so pls vote by commenting "true". I am very satisfied after watching it. No doubt no issue. Continue your support.
I know I’m writing this years later but the Sony UBP 700 is way better then the Samsung BD7500, The picture and sound is superior on the Sony not to mention the fact that it’s still working today perfectly fine today, where is it in my Samsung 7500 didn’t even last a full year before breaking down. There’s a reason why Sampson stop making players because they suck at it.
Sony's 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player | UBP-X800M2 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray 4K High Dynamic Range HDR10 Anti-Vibration Stream 4K Content 4K Upscaling up to 60p. its worth it.thanks for the video.
sony upb x700 best option no dac & external psu.so you can add your own I've put a toroidal linear psu with mine sound and picture is smoother puts it into standard of pioneer players for fraction of cost.
Um, oppo doesn't make Blu Ray players anymore since 2018. It's 2020. WHY do you have it as even an option to buy? You can get lucky and buy a USED one but there shouldn't be ANY oppo players in this list. Yes they are good. But NOT available.
I am getting a new tv within the next month and have noticed that the 3D fad is over when it comes to tvs but it seems as though the feature is still available in Blu Ray players. Why do they continue to offer this feature? I feel like even at its peak 3D tvs were a gimmick.
I love watching 3D movies at home. Luckily I was able to get the last 3D tv that's also 4k with HDR and Dolby Vision. I noticed Microsoft removed 3D from the Xbox One but my Oppo still plays them.
It's not worth it, sent mine back 3 days after receiving it, it's DV picture quality was underwhelming because my ps5 that only supports hdr10 looked just as good if not better in some instances

I have 2 oppo 203 one of the best players ever made.
After 3 Years ... the Oppo 203 is still the best BluRay Player, i did test Panasonic & Sony. Nothing compares to Oppo 203/205.
From my experience, the Samsung BD-J7500 model is a very good product. I've been using it for over 3 months and I am very satisfied with it!
I use the Panasonic UB900 to play all movies. I Have not had any issues with it and it has the best quality movie player. I recommend it.
Brian Jesse is it a big upgrade from an Xbox one?
@@Vividersnake considering the xbox one doesn't even play 4k movies yeah it's in a different league bud
What one should I get if I want one that is very small in size?
The best currently is the Panasonic UB9000. Way better than Oppo.
Got myself a Oppo 203 and a Panasonic UB820. Best player for Dolby Vision discs and the best blu ray and HDR player.
Thanks so taking your time to explain everything into details, it will be really helpful👍👍
one of the detail review about best blue ray players.i have a Sony UBP-X700 it's amazing sounds.thank you for including this on your list.
I prefer the panasonic before the oppo, I do not know much about this Chinese brand, and I do not doubt that it is good but panasonic is a true beast of the blu- ray
Nothing looks better than a Panasonic UB900 !! I think that is best Blu-Ray Players !! Thanks for very good video !! 👍
best video ever regarding best blue - ray in 2019 definitely going to buy second one
OPPO UDP-203 is the best Blu-ray player now available
But it's only available used or resale but still overpriced
Subscribed. I'm in the market for a new player and I'm old school as well, I like to see the front panel display.
It is a great help for one of my friends. He needs a new BluRay Player
Is it worth to get a stand alone player or use a game console like the ps3 or ps4?
Those don't play 4k bud
Bluray Players give crystal clear videos, my favourite is to be sony
Me Also i love Sony
Great review, I learned more about blu-ray players. Panasonic UB900 is the best for me. Thank you
What about the Sony x1100, is it a good 4K blu ray player with ability to use bluetooth headphones when you want to see movies when other people sleep
Am I the only one missing the styling of the early 2000s Sony Top-of-the-Line DVD-players? The wide silver ones with the big screens and all the knobs? This Sony UBP-X700, this model that is supposed to be a flagship model is just looking so much like ... A BUDGET model!
It is a budget model
What's the difference between ubp-x800 and the m2
I think all are good but i like Panasonic UB900 ,if any one agreed with me so pls vote by commenting "true". I am very satisfied after watching it. No doubt no issue. Continue your support.
Bro honestly speaking Sony UBP-X700 is no doubt the best in this list .If you are going to buy ...then buy only sony UBP-X700
when did some manufacturers decide no display on the player was necessary. you can't even tell if they're on or off...
I love Samsung BD-J7500. Just wanna say that Samsung is definitely my favorite brand. Never disappointed me.
very useful and interesting your information about the best Blu-Ray players in 2019, thanks for sharing
I want to buy OPPO UDP-203 because it is well-built, premium 4K Blu-ray player and the first to support Dolby Vision disc playback.
Well good luck with finding one for fair price
Does the blu-ray box have LED readouts .... why not????? Do the remote controls have lighted buttons. why not???
1111 My old tv 20 years ago had a remote you could light up. Man those were the days
Sony UBPX800 cannot play BD-RE XL (100GB) discs. I regret that i didn’t go with the Oppo203.
Oppo is simply the best far away from competitors. All other BR players are toys compare to OPPO devices :D
is Oppo the only one with a display left?
Is the lg ubk80 good

Samsung BD J7500 is the best one in my opinion. I recently bought it from amazon and I am totally satisfied. My recommendations.
The Panasonic UB-9000 is the best player for 2019, not sure why it wasn't on this list.....
I love 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, but Blu-ray will be the best quality at 1080p!
I have the Oppo and it's a shame they don't sell them no more and no I won't sell
Sony's 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player | UBP-X800M2
4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray

Was going to buy an Xbox X but this is better. Panasonic UB900
Panasonic UB900 is the one i am getting bought just now, helpful review.

I think the Sony UBP-x700 is really worth it.
I have the Sony UBP X800M2
Don't waste you're time with the Panasonic UDP 900 .... Get their latest UDP 820 and if you can afford paying more $ get the UDP 9000
M2 had Dolby Vision
@@maxcollie7446 m2 is terrible picture quality compared too the ub820
UDP-203 is out of stock for a long time
Sony UBP-X700 is the best option - top features for a very reasonable price.
I liked sony blu-ray player
Seriously... no Panasonic UB820?
Craig Schray I think this was an older review (even though it says 2019) that’s a newer model.
fantastic review
SACD Playback AND Super Audio CD Playback are the SAME feature.
Best video about Blue Ray players. I personally like SONY. Features are just good. thanks
Gotta love manually selecting Dolby vision
Can blu ray play bootleg dvds
Regrettably Oppo appears to not sell players anymore.
感覺上4K播放機的HDMI輸出應該有Video Only才對
Thanks.
Sony x700 is triluminus?
I have the same question. Because my Sony LED TV W904 has Triluminus feature
Seems to me that Blu Ray is on the way out. Samsung has already stopped making them. I see fewer and fewer movies on Blu Ray.
You didn't talk about the price??!!
can i play a normal blu ray disc on a uhd blu ray player ? =)
Yes, you can play blue ray, regular dvd and cd as well.
okay thank you for your answer =)
Samsung BD-J 7500 is here by mistake! It's not Ultra-HD Blu-Ray Player.
The Panasonic is an old model, Oppo has stopped producing players....
But where is blue ray disks
Good
Samsung is going to stop manufacturing Blu-ray players, is that right?
You can't get the oppo anymore unless you over pay for it, so if you're in the market for 4K player just skip the shit and get a Panasonic ub820
9:42: audio soundbar hits the home theatre peak? its a joke right? it has to be..
Is a blu-ray and a DVD player together.
Leonard Thompson yes, a blu ray plays both, dvd and blu ray
I have a feeling this is a robot talking
I have an LG Sony 4K 890 and I love it
They don't make the oppo dvd player no more. Sucks.
é bom ter um aparelho blu ray que tenha o dezainer gordo grande com displey luminoso bem bonito
Soundbar - always inferior sound to real speakers.

Wheres the Pioneer lx500?
The OPPO UDP-203 LOOKS LIKE A BAD AS* BLU-RAY PLAYERS steep price tho
I wonder why am I watching this? I don't use blu rays anymore. I use pendrives.
Oppo is over 2,000 there crazy. have a Sony plays great
Help
Players
only sony good ~ others sucks
In terms of quality build, I would avoid Samsung and Oppo. Japanese manufacturers are still much better!
Sony UBP-X700 players should only play movies. Not all this mumbo jumbo . Keep it simple and focus on the player.
OPPO UDP-203 is the best Blu-ray player now available
