I’m 58 and each year my mum brings out a cardboard Santa that I made in my first year at infant’s school, when I was 5. It’s now very fragile and very precious.
Laura you're enthusiasm and decor ideas for Christmas made me feel warm, fuzzy and excited to make home feel festive. The little one's bedroom is sooo sweet, I hope you and your Mum make wreaths together it's such a lovely thing to do especially with a mulled vino and some christmas music! x
I remember when Christmas shopping for decorations was so much fun. I’m 77 now so not much décor shopping for me. Teddy room looks good and Christmasie. I look forward to your video each week. I’m happy you were able to go shopping by yourself. Alone time is important. 🎄
I just love it all Laura…..I have 3 boys now aged 21-18-17, and we still decorate their rooms for Christmas. They love it! When Teddy is older a great tradition to start is a book countdown…..they open a new Christmas book a day. They still talk about it today❤.
Completely agree about the tradition of bringing things back out each Christmas. We have a fairy for the top of our tree from my childhood, and possibly before, and I’m 58! My kids think it is scary even at 25&23 but it’s not at all! Christmas for me is when she is up!
I looove bringing out the same decorations every year, each year I love it more and adds to the feeling of Christmas. The same smells, same decorations. Then if I see something I really love I'll add it to the collection. When people change everything each year I just think wow thats a lot of money on something you wont keep. I love your style, can't wait to see it all up again!
We are all grown ups in my house but we have decorated ever area of our living room and all the lights and decs are up outside. We love Christmas in our house it’s such fun. We have a Kinder at the end of our street and the children walk past our place in the day and get so exited by the Santa’s, reindeer etc. it looks even better at night.
Well Laura, you've gone and got me excited about Christmas! I love what you've done in Teddy's room. And your tree decorating video is always my favourite. Looking forward to it!
I passed on all my decorations to my daughter and started fresh, with a small sparse Scandinavian table top tree and felt mouse ornaments and garlands. I don’t over fill the tree and everything fits into a plastic storage box; so much easier. ❤ love your red cardigan.
My mom traced our hand outline on felt with our names and the year. She only did it once for me and my siblings. Now over many, many later it is the one ornament that everyone always looks for each year. Over the years, the grandchildren and great grandchildren have compared their hands to ours.
How sweet...I'm sure it will all be magical....some lovely little treasures for his first Christmas...🌲🌟🎅🎶🍪🔔🕯️🦌🎁ones to add to your memories from the previous years 😊
Laura, I got my son a sack from The Handmade Christmas Company, its brilliant for smaller presents when babies are little and tten again when they are teens and thete presents go back to bei h little again. I also got monogrammed stockings for myself and my hubby. They all come put every year and it wouldn't be the same without them x
I have bought my children one decoration each year and they are now being passed onto them as the create there own homes and families - they get excited each year to unpack them
When a new baby is born in the family I gift a large strong gift box with soft storage hay and a notebook. I write a note saying “ what can I give you that you will still be using at least once a year in 30 years time- something to store the baubles that mummy and daddy will buy u every year”…….. sadly I think the gesture is completely wasted on some and that I’m just the family oddball giving empty boxes 🎉🎉🎉😂
I do feel sorry for the instagrammers frantically sourcing new materials and a new “ theme” hoping for more likes and sponsorships ….. no sign of the kids home made stuff😢😢😢……… our permanent and immutable theme is always “ 70s working men’s club” - need to make a start those multi colour foil collapsible garlands are nt going to hang themselves😂

You need to slow down your speech it just sounds like a lot of mumbled words!!😮
and you need to slow down your fingers and get them away from a keyboard
What on earth are you talking about ?
That’s quite a rude comment but if you want it a bit slower you can just change the playback speed
Are you pregnant?
It's rude asking that so blatantly 😮
Not yet ☺️
@esunadeluna not really she just has that pregnancy flush in her face. She hasn't taken offence, so that's all that matters.
@MichelleWhittaker-b6c but why would you take the chance? if she was she clearly wouldn't tell you in the comments section 😂😂
