Move one piece of the garland over to the right at the top of the stairs (balcony) and add a wreath in the middle to cover the slack. You wouldn’t even know it isn’t long enough 😉
Your *MEMORY TREE" is gorgeous. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 I loved the crafted covid ornament. Vintage glass ornaments came to me when my grandparents and an elderly aunt passed. My mother made a million crafted (quilted, beaded, painted) ornaments. My dad made stained glass ornaments and I Have ornaments from dumpster diving adventures in the bins behind the Hallmark store. I bought some when I traveled, received gifts from friends and crafted, thrifted and after-Christmas-80%-off-saled some myself. And as I am downsizing from multiple large to multiple small trees, I am passing my larger nicer ornaments to younger family members and giving the excess to Goodwill.
I’m 64 and I still hang my 2 kids ornaments on the tree that they made in their primary years. They are 40 and 44. I have 9 grands and have homemade ornaments for them as well! I love it so much each year when I get them out!!!!
While I've dreamt of a color coordinated perfect tree, the older I get (now I'm 65 and Nana to six lovely grandkids) the more I appreciate my tree full of homemade ornaments, special ones brought back from vacation places, gifts from my daughter who has traveled the world, and now, most precious, things my grandkids make and give to me, or ornaments I've purchased that commemorate them in some way. Your tree is magical, especially Tina. It did make me burst into tears, but I love it.
In my home as a kid I loved all the 80s-90s style of mismatch ornaments and every piece of the living room was filled with shiny things hanging from everywhere. I absolutely loved it. As an adult with kids I'm so boring, I have matching decor and not very many special ornaments. I love everyones decorations insta or not. I love just the joy it brings to everyone do whatever makes it magical for you and your family 🥳
Hello Kim. My husband and I have two children one is 36 and one is 34 both out of the house, not married and have no children, but they still come over every year to help decorate the tree which has paper ornaments from when they were in kindergarten homemade ornaments, memory, ornaments of trips we’ve taken and so on. To me that tree is priceless.
My tree is full of ornaments we've collected over the years, received for gifts, bought on vacation, been thrifted or have been made by my kids. I love our collection of ornaments and how special they are.
Me too! And I also have several vintage ones that my momma made, like crocheted ones. I’m always so careful with them. To me, it’s about memories of my childhood, and now memories of my kids and grands.
Thank you so much for sharing decorating your tree. It made me cry, remembering I use to do that with my kids. Now they are all grown up and live very very far away. Thank you again. Ann
I can't imagine having family so far away. Both my family and my husband's family all live not so far, the farthest is 6 hours away the rest are all within 20 min drive. And we both come from large families
It's just my 22 y.o. daughter and myself in our home. We have narrowed it down to one little black goth tree with tiny red l.e.d. lights and a black star. Up in 5 minutes, down in 5 minutes like the 2 little grinches we are 😂
We leave our tree up all year. Decorating it for each holiday! Easter, St. Patty's day, 4th of July, Veterans day, so on and of course Christmas! You only live once 🤣😂
I have 2 trees. In the family room the tree has a variety of ornaments collected over many years and the tree in dining room has gold ornaments. I love them both!
We have had a Christmas tree in our various homes for over 49 years. Never a coordinated tree. I could never give up the ones with the memories of my children’s craft attempts, the ones from various travels and activities and even a few that are generational.
When the kids were little we had a traditional tree with the homemade and cutesy ornaments. They are now grown so I do a beautiful snowy winter tree that I would call diamonds and pearls. Very elegant, but then I'm a blingy girl. Happy Turkey Day❤
I love the more "homely" feel decorated trees. Im like you, our tree has all the decorations the kids made throughout the years and ornaments me and my husband had as kids. We collect ornaments from places we've been. So its more like a memory tree and we love it!
We are team homely feel for the tree that is kid friendly and kid decorated. I never knew there were people where mom only decorates until I saw it on UA-cam!
I’ve seen it a lot more lately. The moms do it all to make it look picture perfect. Screw that. My daughter is 20 and she still enjoys decorating the tree with me. I don’t touch the tree until she’s able to do that with me.
With the whipped honey, another thing you can do is add cinnamon & a splash of vanilla to the honey as it’s whipped… good on toast, on charcuterie board, & much more!
My trees (15), are magazine worthy every year, with the exception of one. Every year I change our theme and color. I have an entire room in the back of my garage full of Christmas. Last year was Grinch, this year it is winter wonderland. My colors are white, gold and silver. Decorating for Christmas is my passion! On the other hand my sisters tree is all collected ornaments from her entire life. I love the simplicity and meaning behind it all. The one tree that stays the same each year is my Packer tree! Go Pack Go! My beautiful green and gold.💛💚💛💚💛 Do what means the most to you, because in the end they are not going to remember the tree, they are going to remember the family times and celebrations together. Look how much fun you and your family had decorating.
I love looking at tgeme trees but i looove decorating with memory mixed ornaments. Its a sentimental tree and bring me so much joy when i look at it. I remember the places i have been and the people who gave me the ornaments.
i have always loved the the trees that children get to help decorate. Trees like this warm the heart and bring a smill to my face. The more formal trees seem cold to me. I love years of mismatched ornaments where each one brings back a memory. I still have pink mini croched angels that my husband and I baught for our first Christmas I know they are over 58 years old because we would have celebrated 58 years if he were still here. Your tree is lovely and warm
We have always done the homely tree. So many hand made ornaments we should probably get another tree at this point. It is so fun to remember the memories and smile and laugh about it all over again. 🎄
I use mismatched ornaments and ornaments I like, when my kids were growing up it was decorated with their yearly ornaments as well as my childhood ornaments, they are grown now and I gave them their ornaments and just kept a few that reminded me of them. Your tree is beautiful with the decorations
Hodgepodge tree here! That’s how I grew up, and that’s the tradition I’ve continued with my own family. Every year I give my kids and my husband a new ornament. It’s fun to look back and see what the kids were into when they were younger. They are now 19 and 22, and we all still decorate together. The garland on the stairs looks great, Kim! Maybe if you get a tree for the upstairs, you could position it makes up for the space without garland.
We don’t have children but we have furbabies - so we do a ‘fancy’ tree and a meaningful family tree with all the mismatched beautiful (to us) ornaments 🎄
I have a hodgepodge of Christmas decor. I made a lot of them through our 47 years of marriage. And now I make some for my 2 grandkids. We have old ones new ones strange looking ones. It’s all good. This the season of love not suppose to look like you got Martha S to decorate. It’s all good memories for your kids. My adult boys still comment on the simple pancake breakfast Christmas morning. It’s all about togetherness and love. Early merry Christmas to you and lovely family Kim.
We have an assortment of ornaments that we have collected, were gifts, handmade from family. Sometimes I want a "beautiful" tree but I also love our tree.
Kim all the Christmas treats looks so good they all look delicious 🤤 it was so wonderful to see all the family decorating heartwarming it turned out beautiful too
Spending the holidays with the Party People and Mrs. WHISK!! We have always had a traditional tree with old ornaments that are precious and must go on the tree ever year. I never do a curated or themed tree. 😊❤
Def a “ homey feel” when my kids were small we all decorated it and now my kids are 43 and 45 I still use their school ornaments that they made and everything else in between now that I crochet , I make so many ornaments now and they are all on our tree . Your amazing you remind me of myself and now that I’m 65 , I still have the same energy Lolol not sure when it will Slow down but I now have two beautiful grandkids Michael 7 Marianna 5 I also put up a huge Christmas village kids just love it michael is always mobi g things around my lil mr Christmas ty for all you do ! 🌻🌻🌻
I would take all those cute little ornaments and get another tree for the top of the stairs the way you wanted, the playroom and do a more elegant tree with bulbs and such for the living room
This year we just put ornaments on our pre lit tree. Because we have a newly 1 year old who likes to touch things and this is a new tree so we didn’t know what would look good. In the past we also put some tinsel on it and some beads. But I’m really liking the just ornaments. Makes it seem less crazy and minimal
My tree is filled with personal memory ornaments, my child's hand made ornaments & just random ones that represent our relatives, the things we like & things that make us smile. Like the baby hippo figure that I tied a ribbon around to make into an ornament (b/c of the song "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas", lol) For me, a Christmas tree should hold tokens of love & years of happy memories. I want our tree to say: "This is Us." ❤
We love to just put up ornaments on the tree. We get everyone a new one every year so when they put their own one up they have special memories of when they lived at home with us but I also have a small one upstairs that I decorate different every year. It’s about memories not perfection
When you have littles it needs to be reflective of your family- you can do a professional decorator tree later if you want. Ihave added new ornaments through out the years butI have some that are well over 30 years old
Yay!🤸♀️ It's the most wonderful time🎄 of the year.. and we get to know all that🤩 Kim is up to. A double treat for all of us, Party People. 🎉 Love the decorations and delicious recipes. Soo much fun. Thanks Kim.❤❤❤
I have ornaments that mean something to me , and memories too . Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family ! Enjoy ❤️ Thanks for the recipes, and you still make me smile , and laugh ! ❤
Kimberly…your tree is lovely! We decorate our tree with special ornaments from everywhere we have traveled both near and far. It is a great way to get a small memento from a trip and remember that trip every year when you decorate your tree.
I love your tree. Our tree is a mish mash of ornaments from over the years with whatever the kids were into that year. We have dinosaurs, back hoe, a paper tree my daughter drew at a restaurant, American girl and now just married, first home, makes me cry. The days are long, the years are lightning. 😢(Tanya Tucker) Enjoy every single moment. 🎄🎅🏻🌲
Our christmas tree is filled with homemade crochet etc ornaments and we buy one new one every year. It's something that is special. We also have photo ornaments on a smaller tree.
Before we had our daughter, my tree was very themed, decorated perfectly. Same with even last year since our daughter was only a few months old. Now, we still have those ornaments, but we now have some homemade ones she made at daycare, and my mil had some from my husband that he made as a kid, and my heart absolutely LOVES it
My tree was always homey with a special ornament for each of my kids every year. Now that they're grown and in their own homes their ornaments are with them. Now I make ornaments for all (including nieces, nephews) family members, decorate the tree with them, and when they leave our family gathering, they take an ornament from the tree.
Our tree is decorated with ornaments that go together, but we have a few special ornaments that we add. We make a new ornament every year, so there's a collection of those.
Our tree has our childhood ornaments on it, homemade ornaments we make, every trip we go on we get an ornament and every yr I get one for my husband and our 8 yr old to represent milestones etc. Definitely not Pinterest worthy but we wouldn't have it any other way. Every year we put a mini tree in our son's room also. He loves it! ❤
My tree is small but it’s decorated with glass bulbs over 50 yrs old some are almost 100 yrs old❤❤❤all from my great great aunts and my parents too. All have past but the memories are so special💕
My tree is mainly candy themed with a mix of child-hood ornaments and vacation ornaments scattered throughout like little gems. I remember having lifesaver candy garland as a kid in the 80's and when I found some similar online I had to have it.
My husband and I get a real tree with our kids every year, and ours is decorated with a combination of store-bought ball ornaments and family ornaments, including ones from when I was a kid. Oh, and we ALWAYS have our pickle ornament on the tree! Anyone else have that tradition?
Our trees are filled with sentimental ornaments. My husband always says that he wants our tree to look like it belongs in a home not a hotel lobby 😂 I see where he’s coming from but think the perfectly designed “lobby” or “Pinterest” trees look pretty in a home too.
My tree has been put together over 25 years. It’s a variety of stuff I like, mostly with a snow theme. I have sparkly snowflake garland which a little more breaks each year. Stuffed handmade looking snowmen wearing hats and scarves, wobbly snowmen with button arms and legs, balls that look like sparkly snowballs, I stuff some snow related signs in there and even a wood and metal sled, so many things. And if anyone gives me a handmade ornament it most certainly goes on the tree EVERY year. ❤❤ not much matches but it’s fun.
Move one piece of the garland over to the right at the top of the stairs (balcony) and add a wreath in the middle to cover the slack. You wouldn’t even know it isn’t long enough 😉
@@AllisonZ7 that's actually a really good idea 👍👍
Your *MEMORY TREE" is gorgeous.

FIELD TRIP FEET!! So funny 😂
Did I just see Kim taking tags off of something?? 😲😁
Right! 😂
Hahaha😂 I love her videos ❤
I always loved when the kids made paper chains for our tree.
Our tree is not Pinterest worthy 😂😂😂 it’s colorful and full of my kids artwork! I love it!!!

Our tree is a collection of ornaments made, bought and given, so many memories. I can’t imagine doing a themed tree.

Another great early morning hangout! Fun ideas thanks Kim 🎄✨🤍🍯
My favorite tree is the one with my children's homemade ornaments.
I love your tree. Our tree is a mish mash of ornaments from over the years with whatever the kids were into that year. I can't wait to make those snacks!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family Kim love watching you all decorate your Christmas tree
Before we had our daughter, my tree was very themed, decorated perfectly. Same with even last year since our daughter was only a few months old. Now, we still have those ornaments, but we now have some homemade ones she made at daycare, and my mil had some from my husband that he made as a kid, and my heart absolutely LOVES it
We only have one tree. Every year it’s decorated different but full of love and memories. I couldn’t care less about it being Pinterest worthy.
Good morning Kim! Thank you for sharing yummy recipes! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! ❤️🦃
My tree was always homey with a special ornament for each of my kids every year. Now that they're grown and in their own homes their ornaments are with them. Now I make ornaments for all (including nieces, nephews) family members, decorate the tree with them, and when they leave our family gathering, they take an ornament from the tree.
Hi Kim.. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing your day with us,. You always put a "HAPPY" in our day.. Love Fromm Kansas🥰
I like the price tag 😂on the pot holding the fall bush 😂! You crack me up 😂! Love your videos ❤
Our tree is a memory tree😍 We love it!!! I have tried a Pintrest worthy tree, but it does feel right for us.
we call it tacky Christmas. Nothing matches and I love it
THANKS for the snack ideas!! Love your family!! We have a mixture tree.. we have a theme with baubles, then add our family ornaments. 🥰🥰🥰
My tree is small but it’s decorated with glass bulbs over 50 yrs old some are almost 100 yrs old❤❤❤all from my great great aunts and my parents too. All have past but the memories are so special💕
I love your tree! It reminds me of the Christmas trees we dis when my daughters were young! 💗
I have decorate one tree with ornaments purchased on trips we have taken over the years.
47 minutes❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful work on the tree! God bless, happy thanksgiving, and merry Christmas
Hi Kim! Your christmas tree is so beautiful! 🎄😊
I have a big tree in living room and small trees in every room in the house. House is looking good.
100% hodgepodge tree. Our kids pick out a new ornament every year and we let them decorate however they want. It's beautiful because it's us
Our tree is ornaments from my childhood, my kids' homemade things and ornaments given to us each year
I have a hodgepoge Christmas Tree. Old, new, and homemade ornaments. Some ornaments my kids made 30 years ago.
Hi Kim! What a sweet video! Love your tree and you Tina angel!
Our Christmas tree is a mix of different ornaments that we’ve collected thru out the years. 🎄
