Omg ! That little puppy is so darn cute I was cracking up when she threw her toy in the air on the bed. You are my favorite UA-camr you motivate me so much and brighten my day. Love you girl!!
It will also be nice if you make some bands from the leftover fabric for the middle of the pannels, which you can remove or leave for light peeking. Like giant side bows 🎀. Love your videos, greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
I’ve been hoping for a long time that you would do something like this to your bedroom doors. It looks so much more elegant, and I love the privacy part. Bedrooms are truly private spaces, and even your guest will feel a lot more comfortable when they can’t see directly into your bedroom. It turned out so beautiful! I’m so glad you did this. The fabric is wonderful.
I used small cafe rods for a similar curtain install. With the rods, there is no worry about fatigue on the springs. I used brass L shaped hooks to keep the curtains taut. The L hooks on the bottom were installed upside down to keep the curtains under tension giving a very tailored look.
I love that fabric and looks so good with the wall color in the bedroom! :). With the leftover fabric I would make a couple of pillows for the bed to tie everything together! :)
I love the look of the curtains. The difference in the sound when you are inside your bedroom is because you now have the fabric absorbing the sound waves instead of them bouncing back at you off of a hard surface. That is why theaters always have fabric walls with sound boards behind them.
That sweet baby girl Kinsley is the cutest thing ever!!! You can definitely tell she has been spoiled. Love Love Love I so enjoy watching your videos and following your days in the life of your family. So happy for ya'll with your precious baby boy.
If anybody is going to make curtains like this for French doors, you can buy a set of curtain rods that are specifically for this purpose. If you have insulated metal doors, you can buy magnetic ones, which is what I did.
Opted for sash rods on French doors, in the past, and really liked the look and ease of use. Appreciate what MaCenna wanted to accomplish, here, but the fabric, especially with it being doubled, feels a bit heavy, IMO. (If it's a sturdy linen or drapery weight, that may the issue. A lightweight, printed cotton could be doubled and not be as thick.) Understand the desire for privacy, but loved how not having the glass covered made the rooms feel more spacious and bright. Given that she used the ribbed glass in the kitchen, there are glass films which replicate that look and might've afforded blocking the view while still allowing for light to pass through.
I'm obsessed with the curtains... They look gorgeous 😍 you definitely need to do cushion covers for kitchen chairs how gorgeous will that be!!! They we're meant for that ❤
Elna owner since 1974! You orchestrated your panels in a creative way. We owned a drapery workroom for 13 years during the 80's and made lots of case top and bottom panels for French doors. I.e. used small bracket
The curtain panels is such a great idea for the doors, & i love that fabric, its so pretty! They look beautiful from the living room when you close them!❤ Really pretty & cozy on the bedroom side too! Honestly its like that's the way its supposed to be or meant to be! Thanks for sharing!😊
If you change your mind on the curtain rod, go to Jo Anne’s and they have 1/4 inch round white & brass curtain rods that would look amazing. Love the curtains so much. Beautiful Fabric!!! 👍
Your curtain panels look so nice! You could also use some of the leftover fabric for bed pillows to match the drapes, or for cafe style curtains above the bed. You're doing a great job as a wonderful mother, a fantastic vlog master, incredible candle maker, DIY creator! Believe in yourself and enjoy whatever comes your way. Don't fret, just accept the day, make the most of whatever moment life unveils along your path. I read once, "the universe is unfolding as it should." Be at peace with your life and you'll feel a calming sense of relief. Nothing's perfect, this world is full of flaws, yet it's a beautiful 🌎, and perfect enough. 🙏💖
I love that you finally did this! I was wondering if this was part of the plan down the road, especially as Cade gets older too haha. Just curious why you wouldn't do the same rod and bracket system you used for all your cafe curtains?
Here in Australia we have a plastic coated wire that you attach inside window frames with a hook and eye. Same concept as the one you have although thinner and the coating makes it easy to thread through fabric. Perfect for your job.❤
Same in the UK, my mother uses them for her net curtains. I have asthma and personally am not a fan of the look of nets so have window film on my bedroom windows for privacy and nothing on the living room windows (apartment life so they are my only windows). I think her curtains are great for her more traditional aesthetic but I'd have picked a window film in maybe a reed effect or something similar, to get the wanted privacy but still have the light be able to come through. I lean pretty heavily on the contemporary side for my personal aesthetic but I appreciate what others do in their spaces, especially when it's more appropriate for an older home = more traditional leaning Vs newer build, more contemporary style. I take issue with people who buy older houses and rip out features like coving, fireplaces etc. if that's your aesthetic don't gut what makes an older home special, there's plenty of homes built in the last 60 /70 years that contemporary and clean lines work in without sucking the soul out of the house.
I can relate so much!! I have about 6 piles of supplies for holiday DIYs and different household projects, not yet complete or even started. Trying to find the discipline to do it! You’re doing so great trying to balance everything as much as it may not feel like it sometimes ❤
@@xomacennavlogsyes a bow would look cute but once you gather the center, you’re met with the original problem again…can see into your bedroom. Don’t tamper with perfection!
MaCenna!! Privacy yes, but what they did for the whole feel of both rooms is amazing. It's those small individual touches that makes it a cozy home and not just a house. Great job! Love those curtains!!! wow!!!
Love the curtains!! The kind of rod you are really needing is called a sashing rod. Didn’t you use them to put the curtains up in the bathroom and on the doors in the kitchen. They are so very cheap and I love them like you have in the bathroom! Love watching you work on building your life and home! Cade and Kinsley are precious sidekicks!!!
The curtains look so pretty, love the fabric! FYI, there are tiny gold rods made for this type of sheered curtains, and they are rigid, not floppy like the spring, Walmart carries them for sure, probably on Amazon, too.
The curtains are gorgeous! The pattern is perfection! I have a thought: since you said you like seeing the texture of the window panels with the fabric behind and the doors will mostly be open, switching the curtains to the opposite side would let you see that more often!
Get a thin piece of metal from the hardware store and put it inside the spring to strengthen the hold of the curtains. The curtains look like perfection.
McKenna I absolutely love your new bedroom curtains, they came out beautiful. Privacy is everything especially when you have lots of people in and out of your house.

Those curtains look gorgeous on those doors. I grew up in a house built in 1920 and we had those same little springs through the curtains on the 2 long windows beside the front door.
I know you love having an en suite but for the next few years could you see yourself using your 2 upstairs bedrooms for yourself and Cade? That way your downstairs bedroom could be a nice flexible workspace for all your office/project needs/future play room - so you don’t need to impede on your living and front room? I’m sure you considered this but it feels like a good solution from the outside 😅 Love your videos and following your projects and watching your growing family! ❤
The curtains look lovely, tying it all together with the idea for cushion covers in the kitchen is a great idea. I saw you only had fabric for four chairs perhaps finding something in a solid that is similar to, but doesn’t match exactly for the other two chairs which could be to the middle or as head of the table chairs. Great job with the door curtains 👍 It’s warm and cozy and gives you the privacy you need. Love little Kinsley she is so adorable. Loves her mama!!!! A great family💕
Would've made a wonderful table runner as well as cushion covers, but for the bedroom French doors, I'd chosen nylon plainer materials gathered tightly ,so it couldn't be seen through by passer-by-guest or company but gave more options for bedding later but it does look great and the toile is very beautiful but I'd used it all up in the kitchen 😮it's that perfect with those cabinetry
Hi MaCenna, I like the fabric you bought. I have a thing for birds & I recently looked at an accent chair with a similar pattern, but wrong color for me. Those springs bring back childhood memories. Those were always used for French doors with curtains, one at the top & one at the bottom. Then you gathered the fabric to make little pleats. It looks nice. I like it. ❤😊
