Adorable style and really practical for small spaces (small apartment, media room, she sheds and man caves!) They look a lot like the really expensive SMEG fridges that are made in Italy, but these are a very affordable alternative for those looking for some funky retro styling!
Terri West yes! Smeg is super cute but is pricey so this is a good alternative esp for small studios or man caves! I wanted to give Pple the pros and cons before they bought. I like it so far, not expecting it to be perfect but works for what I need it for~
Liked your review. I'll see for myself. I just bought the same fridge a few days ago and so far so good. It's definitely super quiet and cooled down quickly.
@@homesweetyou I've read a few others and was concerned because one guy said it doesn't get any cooler than 48 farenheit. Thank you and Happy Holidays to you as well 😁
We are having a problem with the fridge freezing food in the back of the refrigeration section. The handle came off almost as soon as we got it. It didn't cost much, but when I can I will definitely upgrade. My favorite part of it is the color.
That looks great! Thanks for the review. I will say, if it was truly retro the metal parts would be metal, haha. To me it’d be ideal if it was actually metal, but I guess given the price there have to be compromises. Does it feel “chinsey”, or is it quality plastic?
The problems I see with these types of fridges is: 1.) There is only one temp control 2.) No blower of any kind to circulate the air in each compartment. With these (and the Magic Chef 4.5 cu ft one I bought for a bar fridge) due to the lack of air flow in the compartments, you're basically relying on passive cooling through the back and some of the sides of the compartment. Which is why they take a day to day and a half to cool bottled beverages (from room temp) and most are at the top end of the food safe range, so not really ideal or efficient as they claim IMO. After trying the Magic Chef one for about a week and it barley got cold enough while on the coldest setting, I settled on a Whirlpool 11.6 cu ft one (which is about 6" taller, 5" deeper and 3" wider than the model in the video) which has a dual temp and especially a system for air circulation, which I think is key... If the mini fridges had some sort of air circulation, then they'd be a good fridge, but with the one I purchased and 2 other people with mini fridges with the same issue... I can't recommend them.
John Thorpe yeah it has one temp control for both freezer and fridge. I use it for beverages mainly and my custom cakes, it’s decent for a mini fridge use. Def not a main fridge type of purchase. If you know what you are buying and don’t expect it to have crazy high tech functions or be used as your main fridge then I don’t see a problem with it. Definitely not for your main fridge and cheaper than a smeg which I originally wanted.
@@homesweetyou The Whirlpool one I purchased (www.lowes.com/pd/Whirlpool-11-6-cu-ft-Top-Freezer-Refrigerator-Fingerprint-Resistant-Stainless-Finish/1002323036 - haven't received it yet, but it's been ordered) doesn't have any high tech features, no water through the door, just an ice maker you can add on if you choose. It's a basic 2 door fridge and freezer like the one in the video, except it has 2 temp controls and air circulation. The Magic Chef one I got, I wasn't expecting it to be great ... but I also expected it not to take between 1 and 1 1/2 days to chill anything warm, like bottled sodas, bar mixes, etc. as my use would mainly be for drinks, etc. It's mainly a bar/smoothie/drink cabinet area fridge, so didn't care or need any special features... just one that cools items in a reasonable amount of time and stays cool when opening the door a few times.
Nice~ this galanz one cooled fairly quickly just depends on the temp you set it at. The only thing is it frosts in the back a bit if it’s too high. Good luck with your new fridge!

I tried to buy two of these but the appliance store says the doors cannot be re-orientated to swing in the other direction. So side by side won’t work well .
