@@JT-466 Adding frustrating gunplay mechanics to force the game to be played a certain way is not the way to go. Teamplay enhanced Squad's success before suppression was added and even before gunplay recoil was increased. You can still solo with ICO changes since you can abuse ICO's mechanics to your benefit, it's just a bit more RNG and not very fun.
The bullet deviation mechanics in PR are more like a necessary evil because sway and similar mechanics that would affect aim stability are not possible/hasn't been figured out yet for the BF2 engine. PR ( and other BF2 mods that heavily change or add to the game) basically revolve around figuring how to crack into and work around an old, limited, and proprietary engine to add new features (like when they added vehicle fire control systems).

Playtesters are the most invested in the game, probably more skilled. And considering it was meant to be more teamwork based, people who wanted to teamwork were prob more likely to go out of their way to playtest. Leading to the game mechanics being used as intended and feeling better in general. Now its live, and the build doesn't fit the normal playerbase.
Some servers with global escalation tuned the ico perfectly. It messes up your aim when getting shot at or while moving and firing but also doesnt feel like your gun is fighting you

You probably ought to change the title screen and description, MEE mod is totally different mod that overhauls the gunplay in the way you describe. Global Escalation simply replaces models and adds new factions/weapons, the gunplay is still basically ICO.
Like others said, it would be interesting to see you follow-up with thoughts on the ICO now that everyone has had more time with it. A lot of your channel's early days were about dunking on Squad for having arcadey gameplay compared to PR, yet now there's two videos out with you talking about how this mod is so much better than vanilla Squad, bbecause of the more arcadey gunplay.
Ironic how the ICO lovers and the ones who called those that critiqued it to begin with, ‘COD sweats’, are now coming to realize that the ICO does indeed need major adjustments. Either that or Slorgs actually enjoys the ICO but wants the other side to click on this video for views.
It's wild to me that people still don't know how to play the ICO in 2024 and still complain about it like the solution to their problem hasn't been said a million times by now. Don't run around with low stam all the time and for fucks sake if you're getting shot at shoot back. The amount of times I've seen a whole squad stare at a tree line that they're getting shot at from and all die because no one shoots back. Check your map, if they are no teammates in the area you suspect fire from, light that area up. "I'm suppressed so I guess that means my gun doesn't work now''. As for the marksman, Not sure how people expect a perfectly clear sight picture on a 6x+ scope while standing immediately after sprinting 200m.
this mod made me actually play squad for more then 1hr, the new inf update is great but nobody plays it the way its meant to be played which lovely slorgs went over
this is the Global Escalation mod not the Middle East Escalation mod. the MEE mod removes all elements of the ICO and from what I've played of it has even more arcade gunplay than pre-ICO squad. absolutely no suppression effects, not even the vignette effect from pre-ICO squad. the gunplay is stale and boring, the weapon optics look like shit and teamwork is non-existent. it's call of duty in a squad setting so you may as well play CoD or battlefield, which are more fun anyway
what server did u play on i tryed to find MEE server but i found only russian speaking servers they have great teamwork from what i seen but i dont understan them so its hard to be a team player

Yeah I could never get proper suppression coordination cause that’s just not how people want to play. Idk I think it was a nice idea but just not possible in practice. Unless you can get a dude to literally piss himself from fear of death, you’ll never get “real world” tactics in games
Squad is the most poorly optimised game I've ever played. I'll be honest at this point I'm not sure it runs well on any system 😆 they claim on the steam page an Nvidia 1060 is "recommended". In my experience if you have anything less than a 2080 you're gonna have a tough time. I have a 3080 and often drop below 60 frames so 🤷♂️
MEE is a mod that uses and makes their own assets or sources them legitimately. GE is some idiot who figured out how to rip assets from escape from tarkov. MEE is not currently updated to work with ICO.

I think the ICO is great. It forces u too control your stamina, to be able to shoot straight and penalizes u for trying to run all over the map…..troops don’t run all over the battlefield ALL the time trying to get to their next point of interest…
Honestly suppression does so much unnecessary movement to the gun that its good to see good gunplay on Squad. Hopefully mod continues to get supported and gets more people on board who don’t want to play ICO with suppression!
squad devs: were going to make it harder to run and gun, we will add an insanely unrealistic amount of weapon sway and suppression, making it harder to kill the people running and not gunning.

The ICO masks the players ability to properly hold and aim their gun and gives the terrible player leeway to the skilled players that can actually shoot. They butchered the most important aspect of a first person shooter game to please a crowd of people who play only for the cinematic moments, over learning how to play the game, and staying as a long term player. OWI knows that catering to new players with a controversial updates brings in sales. The same people who cry for teamwork, and say the phrase, "go back to call of duty" can barely hit a broad side of a barn.The ICO is simply an overreaction to game mechanics that could've been addressed in other forms to slow the pace of the game in a healthy way, but ultimately fractured the games community in half and people to this day still refuse to accept that the current infantry mechanics are incredibly flawed.
How does a game Like squad go fucking backwards? I remember playing at this game was so fun. I put over 3000 hours in this game. And after that infantry combat overhaul it's unplayable games trash

I like both personally . MEE when I feel arcade, and when I have time and energy, ICO is good. Not every opinion is black and white.
