    My initial review of this high end repro Rainbow Country Leather Jacket. If you’re in the market for an absolutely top tier leather jacket in the popular historic American styles of the 1930s and 1940s, Rainbow Country may be exactly what you’re looking for.
    I’m very active over at / dudsbydel
    I got into dressing better and exploring the heritage menswear scene in 2018. Leather jackets and boots became a particular interest but I am a fan of workwear, military styles, biker styles, trad Ivy League, and looking good.

    Thanks man for sharing my story about my discussion with Rainbow Country. Basically, this company is a leather jacket and accessories manufacturing company, which indeed manufactures Freewheelers as well as their own brand California Mfg. Co. (and maybe others ?). That's why there are some common construction details between Freewheelers and California Mfg. Co. ; the main difference is that Freewheelers has some additional details and fabrics changes within a single jacket, making it as well pricier. Hope that helps !

    • @DudsByDel
      @DudsByDel  9 місяців тому

      As my buddy on FedoraLounge described it, Freewheelers gets very technically specific on true to detail of period pieces, why Rainbow Country makes those period jackets as robustly as possible with fewer bells and whistles

      @@DudsByDel that’s not correct. Rainbow Country replicate vintage jackets to the exact specifications. They even have the original specs book for the A2 by US Navy. They try to make it period correct to the smallest details.

      Could be said for any model…many makers produce “single rider” or half belt styles, crosszips, A2s and so on. I would say, if it’s a question of value. If there’s a style you see yourself wearing a lot, then buying an expensive version like the rainbow country you’ll end up getting good bang for your buck. If it hangs in the closet most of the time will not. Also, consider going used if you’re not sure

    Hello Del.
    The type of jacket you are wearing should be the RAINBOW COUNTRY RCL-10080-AM Highwayman Horsehide 30s Style Brown Core Riders and not the RCL-10013H-JE Rainbow Country 30's Style Horsehide Sports Jacket “HERCULES” which has a throat latch and stripes from yoke to half belt.
    I looked for it to order and found it only in stores in Japan (Americaya in Ueno, Tokyo) with no possibility of sale outside of Japan. Where did your friend buy it from?

    • @DudsByDel
      @DudsByDel  6 місяців тому

      It is a special version of the Hercules which was modified for the Japanese store Avenue. So the model is RCL-10013H-AV. As you say they removed the throat latch and stitching connected yoke to halfbelt.
