      Hope this is the year for their success in everything they hope to achieve. 2021. The year the mystery is finally solved. Best wishes everyone. I am looking forward to the next season. I'm also hoping they dig up a ship in the swamp and find something that will identify it in some way. And find some treasure for those who want that kind of thing. Love watching this program.

      The narrator questioning everything got so annoying I just stopped watching. Like when they found the log in the swamp he was like, "a log? Buried in the swamp on oak island? Could this be part of the ship described by the guy who was just talking about a ship?" I say get rid of the narrator and the over hype and the show would be as great as it should be.

    • @johnwoa
      @johnwoa 3 роки тому +1

      @Cynthia Arrowsmith With all due respect, have you been following this show long-term? Laird Niven is an Archaeologist and has his own office on Oak Island. The government mandated a few years back that an archaeologist be present for the excavations. Terry Matheson is the on-site Geologist and provides geological direction and oversight on Oak Island. Additionally, geologists and geophysicists from the Geological Survey of Canada based at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia did extensive research of the seabed adjacent to Oak island back in the 1990's. Detailed Bathymetric maps were produced. As for "dating the wood", it has been done on various pieces of wood that have been uncovered in various places on the island, but I don't believe everything that we are being told on this Reality TV show in regards to the "dates". I believe that some of the dates could be, in reality, MUCH, MUCH OLDER. One Oak Island "insider" that I know of said that there is a lot about Oak Island that is not being divulged to the viewer. I believe that!..... Sorry so Lengthy!

      Actually, Cynthia, yes. John did a pretty good job of introducing the people. I've also been watching from the beginning as have been very happy with the way professionals have been sought out and brought on when necessary. The team is VERY big on making sure things are done "right," that is to say they continue the hunt, but with absolute regard for the fact that what started out as a treasure hunt has turned into a vehicle for rewriting North American history.

    OK I've Always been Skeptical .... But what accounts for all the things they have discovered and uncovered .... What's all this stuff doing on a tiny island off the coast of Nova Scotia? Someone was there ..... Is this the Worlds Longest and most Elaborate Practical Joke in History?

    • @johnwoa
      @johnwoa 3 роки тому

      There is A LOT about Oak Island that is not being divulged on this Reality TV show. That being said, Marty Lagina was a real skeptic going into this endeavor, but now he is a firm believer that "something" is deep underground at Oak Island. Even the CEO of ROC Equipment who has overseen the excavations, etc... on the island "is one hundred percent convinced" that something is buried deep underground at Oak Island. Vanessa wouldn't have said that if there wasn't evidence to back it up. These above mentioned beliefs are as a result of what has been discovered so far. Again, we the TV viewers are not told everything about what they are finding. As for what you wrote in your 'Comment', it wasn't that "someone" was there.... it was MANY different peoples from across the Atlantic Ocean that made voyages/pilgrimages to Oak Island over the past nearly two thousand years. The purported symbols etched on the "missing" 90-foot stone confirm just how ancient Oak Island is. The island was apparently a VERY, VERY SPECIAL PLACE to those visitors.

    • @johnwoa
      @johnwoa 3 роки тому

      @Buggles mymind Not to go into depth here, but, after researching this extensively for many years, I have believed that the purported symbols are, for the most part, genuine. I say that because the translation of the symbols made by that professor (James Liechti) at Dalhousie University in Halifax back in the very-late 1800's was "Ten feet below are two million pounds buried". When the purported symbols came to light when they first appeared in a 1949 publication, "True Tales of Buried Treasure" by Edward Rowe Snow, the symbols shown can be easily translated to read "Forty feet below, two million pounds lie buried". If the 1949 symbols were fabricated and made up, there is no way in a million years that the same basic translation could have been made that basically corresponded with the Professor Liechti 1800's translation. Therefore, I truly believe that the 1949 symbols are, for the most part, genuine. I truly hope that the missing 90-foot stone turns up someday where it can be scientifically examined with modern technology. BUT HERE'S A THOUGHT.... If you were the person who quietly removed the Oak Island 90-foot stone from Halifax nearly one hundred years ago to have it preserved in safekeeping and your family/descendants had current possession of that clearly priceless artifact--- the most valuable and sought after "discovery" in the 225 year history of the Oak Island mystery, would you reach out and readily turn it over to a sensation-oriented Reality TV show??? I don't think you would! Money talks!...... Sorry so Lengthy!

    • @johnwoa
      @johnwoa 3 роки тому +2

      @Mahatma Sloth If you are referring to the 90-foot stone uncovered in 1804, an interesting fact is that the archival records state more than once that the stone was found with the inscription/symbols "face down" in the Money Pit, said inscription clearly not meant to be seen by anybody digging down into the pit. I believe the 90-foot stone was a 'capstone' for an ancient tomb that was below and yes, it was apparently protected by the water (booby) traps.

      It does matter according to the legend/superstition! A person must be killed while in the process of searching/excavating. And the total number of "dead" from ALL causes of death would be ten (10) if you include the show's Associate Producer from Season 2, Matt Chisholm, Craig Tester's son, Drake Tester, Mr. Fred Nolan and Mr. Dan Blankenship. That would technically be ten. But the number of searchers that have been killed so far has been six (6).

      @@elreydavid1857 The answer to your question is NO! It was not made up by Rick and Marty or the History Channel. The '7 must die' legend/superstition came about long, long before the show or History Channel even existed, and this Reality TV show capitalized on it. The legend/superstition probably goes back over one hundred years to the very late-1800's.

      Nope! The Money Pit and the workings/man-made beach at Smith's Cove is ANCIENT and was way beyond the scope of pirates. It was a major mining and marine engineering project done by ancient peoples.

    More click bait. The treasure will never be found because that would end this nice little earner PR stunt.

    • @Mrsnichols1965
      @Mrsnichols1965 3 роки тому +1

      Even if the treasure is found, or perhaps because the treasure is found, this "PR stunt" could open up huge amounts of research on things that were never known before. In turn leading to all sorts of media opportunities.
      If you think its click bait, don't click.

    getting tired of hearing in order for the treasure to be found 7 must die... BLAH BLAH BLAH ... when are they gonna realize 8 PEOPLE HAVE DIED?? or have the forgotten Dan Blankenship and Fred Nolan ... thats 8

    • @johnwoa
      @johnwoa 3 роки тому

      I agree. I'm also tired of hearing that '7 Must Die' superstition/legend. That superstition originally was intended to refer to those who would be killed while in the process of searching/excavating on Oak Island, not dying from old age or natural causes. Technically, from all causes of death there are more than 8. There are ten [10] if you include Matt Chisholm (an Associate Producer of the show in Season 2) and Drake Tester. Additionally, there is STILL another legend that I haven't heard mentioned on this Reality TV show that the "treasure" will not be revealed/found until all the oak trees on Oak Island are gone. That 'legend' is specifically referring to the non-indigenous Canopy Oak Trees that once lined the eastern side of Oak Island--- NOT the conventional North American oak tree that is commonly found throughout the northeast U.S. and Canada. My understanding is that the remains of one (1) Canopy Oak Tree remained on Oak island around the year 2000 and it is now gone. Sorry so lengthy!
