To conduct a safe and professional job, it is impossible to dig a deep hole into unstable saturated earth. Your wet hole would require massive dewatering pumps, reinforcement to prevent wall collapse, and lots of life insurance. Certainly would lose millions in lost equipment, life, and is a waste of diesel fuel. When they do finally excavate the money pit, they'll likely freeze the ground to form a 150' wide solid earth structure OR the will dig a 90ft wide hole and pour a concrete ring as they dig down...like a nuclear trident missle silo.

It would be, although they can’t. There’s waaayyy to many legal problems, most of the land on the island and lots of the structures are classified as “ancient landmarks” or whateve (it’s when a building/ structure is so soo old that the historical value is too much to destroy) there also a lot of tunnels and boobytraps, digging up the whole island could cause a lot of those tunnels to collapse and even some possible deaths from the boobytraps they don’t know about yet, then to top it off there also a huge risk of flooding when your digging on an island

@@bonks4395 when they do find the money pit it’s likely they’ll use the same method they’ve used when searching in the past, similar to your concrete method but it the giant drill that adds the super heavy metal cylinders making almost a giant pipe going down

I think when they analyze the "old coin" they might find it is amazingly similar to the wheel used to turn a square shaft which is used in kerosine lanterns to adjust the wick up and down. The outside of these had ridges like a coin to make it easy for fingers to turn. These are often made of copper and brass, so not to rust. What do you use on an island where there is no electricity or before electricity was generally used? If one was digging in a pit, they could be used to provide light. Or it could be other things and maybe an exotic coin.
In Britain, railways use rail chairs and screws or rail clips and screws to hold rail gauge. Gary finds a railroad spike which is used in North America to do those things and declares it is used in old wooden ships to hold planks. The North American boys go along with it.

I have found them before. With the size of that hole and how square it is I feel Chinese origin is possible. I don’t understand why these guys don’t clean off the coins. All it would take is a tooth pick and some careful work to identify the coin...

We are being told that they had to wait to get to Canada. They held zoom meetings from Michigan in an effort to conduct and remain informed on what's going on until they "arrive". Then we were told that they could come over but had to quarantine. The dive into C1 was during their quarantine...... Rick and Marty watched the dive from their two different Nova Scotia quarantine locations........ however...... look closely. What are the odds that your zoom location in Michigan looks exactly like the quarantine zoom location in Nova Scotia?
