Finding the trusted would be the best thing that could happen or did happen this year
I know it seems like this show is dragging on and that may be a small island but it’s a heck of a lot of land to be digging in to find artifacts. Geeze people quit griping.
Boring, boring, boring, boring, boring!!
@@lolacola6457 lola cola
@@edwardandrade4390 think of what? Your question is weird.
wouldn't it be a whole lot cheaper to just dig up the whole island? Start at one end and don't stop till it is all gone.
To conduct a safe and professional job, it is impossible to dig a deep hole into unstable saturated earth. Your wet hole would require massive dewatering pumps, reinforcement to prevent wall collapse, and lots of life insurance. Certainly would lose millions in lost equipment, life, and is a waste of diesel fuel. When they do finally excavate the money pit, they'll likely freeze the ground to form a 150' wide solid earth structure OR the will dig a 90ft wide hole and pour a concrete ring as they dig down...like a nuclear trident missle silo.
Sooner Jon the Conservative: No it wouldn't be! FYI There's a curse on Oak Island and Louisiana is the only state below sea level!
It would be, although they can’t. There’s waaayyy to many legal problems, most of the land on the island and lots of the structures are classified as “ancient landmarks” or whateve (it’s when a building/ structure is so soo old that the historical value is too much to destroy) there also a lot of tunnels and boobytraps, digging up the whole island could cause a lot of those tunnels to collapse and even some possible deaths from the boobytraps they don’t know about yet, then to top it off there also a huge risk of flooding when your digging on an island
@@bonks4395 when they do find the money pit it’s likely they’ll use the same method they’ve used when searching in the past, similar to your concrete method but it the giant drill that adds the super heavy metal cylinders making almost a giant pipe going down
They may drag each episode out but I have to admit I keep watching and that’s every season. Will probably do the same for Beyond Oak Island. I like these guys!
Oak Island is one of my favorite shows. Maybe this year they will find the Treasure. I’m rooting for you guys. Love your show.
I found a real old penny in my garden recently.............thinking of starting a tv series about it........any interest out there?
Excellent show idea.
Just mention something about incorrect history an you are right for the history channel.
Such as Romans wore pants.
Lol
That would be much better found than what they got.
If you work cryptic and UFO angles into it, it will sell.
Can I be the quirky Brit?
I really hope these guys find something substantial and valuable.
Ancient Chinese coins, had a square hole in them.
Not so ancient, 1910 or so Chinese holed coins.
@@jimmyd8206
YES fully aware, having lived in China, and was only indicating the origin of such coinage.
Yes I agree, I thought it looked Chinese. They were traded everywhere, so it wouldn't be impossible to have one wind up on the island, from whatever period within the 1000 years they were produced
They didn't put holes in coins to deface them. It was so it could be strung together to prevent loss.
Pirates shot holes through theirs...lol!
Hi! I love your channel, and all of your episodes!!! Keep doing what your doing HISTORY Channel!!!!!!!!❤️✨✨
Chinese cash coins i have found 3 in Michigan one is 400 year's old . A Chinese coworker identified them for me. I was told Chinese workers brought them to America and during the Victorian era people carried for luck and money I was told .
I hate to do this to Gary, But that coin is not Colonial but Chinese in origin.. Now for the good news I believe it is of a very ancient dynasty... This coin is not easy to find and is defiantly a top pocket find... Don't ask me about it's age, because I don't even know how old I am....
I saw a expect review the episode. He guessed 15th or 16th century Chinese coin.
I knew it was an 1800s Chinese coin. The holes so they can string there coins.
Your very funny👍
@@hotwirea ~ That style of coin was made from appx 300 bce thru the 1900s. There is no way to date it, however, without reading the inscription.
They are getting closer, but i think the whole Island will keep uncovering tantalizing clues.
There still marveling over the little cross found six years ago.
You mean the lead one that Gary salted the site with late at night, then "found" a couple of days later?
Ugh every episode, they sure know how to dragggggggggg this out.
I gotta admit, the metal detector guy and his sidekick are beginning to get on my nerves, mite!
@@judyweeks1480 i think they just put stuff out there to act like they found it.
@@DerekL Yep, I think you are right. That "Templer cross" they found about a week after Rick returned from France, where he saw a carving of one on the dungeon wall, was awfully coincidental in my book. It just happened to turn up, really? That put me off the whole show.
@@judyweeks1480 lol exactly!
@@DerekL Even Rick looked at it as if he was saying c'mon now, this is going from the sublime to the ridiculous, while the metal detector guy was going crazy like he did over the "square holey coin", lol.
Merry Christmas 2020 to all on Oak Island Treasure hunting and Family.
Undisputed Best Show On
TV.
I think when they analyze the "old coin" they might find it is amazingly similar to the wheel used to turn a square shaft which is used in kerosine lanterns to adjust the wick up and down. The outside of these had ridges like a coin to make it easy for fingers to turn. These are often made of copper and brass, so not to rust. What do you use on an island where there is no electricity or before electricity was generally used? If one was digging in a pit, they could be used to provide light. Or it could be other things and maybe an exotic coin.
In Britain, railways use rail chairs and screws or rail clips and screws to hold rail gauge. Gary finds a railroad spike which is used in North America to do those things and declares it is used in old wooden ships to hold planks. The North American boys go along with it.
Good comment
Thats a lot of typing my friend?I don't know if the show worents the effort 😕
You may be right but they have professional people who know about what items are and predict the age so I kind of go by what they say unless their just saying what the guys want to hear “it’s old”
@@garethmiles9984 Yes, he kno hou to rite an spel gude.

should be called "speculation island". ridiculous!!!
Joke Island seems appropriate at this point.

I wish for their sakes that these guys find something but I live in a 300 year old house and I find more in one year than these guys have in all this time, I usually just put the stuff in a box somewhere.

Am confused that only after Mr. Blankenship's death are these maps/documents, etc., being found. He was so involved iin the search...yet apparently he kept these important maps/documents to himself?????
Jeanne Oravec it's tv....
@Paddy Angel Yeah, but this is "Entertainment" television and not about getting answers in short order or solving the Oak Island mystery.
Coin
Its a washer from a dyson hoover made in Singapore
I do a lot of metal detecting in New England and from what I’ve found most holed coins don’t have them in the center. In my opinion that looks a lot like a colonial era Chinese coin. I have found them before. With the size of that hole and how square it is I feel Chinese origin is possible. I don’t understand why these guys don’t clean off the coins. All it would take is a tooth pick and some careful work to identify the coin...
I agree, I think its chinese as well
I agree and it looks bronze, not copper.
The first couple of seasons were entertaining. At this point it's clear nothing is there. It's painfully dragged on.
The professor and Mary Ann ...................
Shocking!
The square hole could also be from a square nail and the coin was used as a washer. It was cheaper to use outdated currency than to buy washers, and they used what they had.
I see the coin you hold in your hand in the clip.
A large square hole ... coin over 2 inches in size.
I think it belonged to the reign of King (Han) ... or King (Song)
Jack "noooo waaaay" Begley...
Gary looks good in tan. He should wear it more often
I used a coin like that in the 1980s.tie a string to it and play video games at the arcade all day
This show is so fake it should be on CNN
Very interesting
Seen a bag full of these Chinese coins myself. Common as trees on oak island
If you find that coin ... under a river of fresh water then that's okay.
If you find it in the deep ocean, it is difficult to stay intact.
The money pit is just a decoy and yes there is real treasure and lots of it
Look an old Chinese copper coin
here in Brazil History has stopped broadcasting and is putting these pieces of a chapter for the broadcast and does not speak to the viewers of Brazil ...
ya but did anyone notice that Rick and Marty were doing the zoom meetings from the same locations before and AFTER the dive into C1? If you recorded the show like I did, go back and watch. We are being told that they had to wait to get to Canada. They held zoom meetings from Michigan in an effort to conduct and remain informed on what's going on until they "arrive". Then we were told that they could come over but had to quarantine. The dive into C1 was during their quarantine...... Rick and Marty watched the dive from their two different Nova Scotia quarantine locations........ however...... look closely. What are the odds that your zoom location in Michigan looks exactly like the quarantine zoom location in Nova Scotia?
I think there was something there at one time, but its lomg gone. What they are finding are just small bits that were dropped or something. But I think most of the voids and tunnels are just an old gold mine thats long abandoned. As the sea rose, it started flooding and was abandoned.
This episode was a top pocket curse
These guys are just putting items around the island for the show arent they?
Yeah, my family was farming in Maine by 1630's. So there is metal to be found. When they find something earlier than 1599 it would be okay to 'add' it to the show.
no
Yah, Its to much of a convenience to be finding a cross from a place in France on the beach of Oak Island from where they JUST had visited. I think its Marty an Rick and producers planting stuff. This TV series makes History channel a lot of money.
In all joking aside teasing an comments ect. Just dig the dam treasure up now. 8 seasons is long enough. This isn't Game of Thrones.
Yes it is game of thrones... With an even more disappointing ending.
If that coin is pre-minted in the reign of King (Han) or (Song).
I don't think it exists underground to this day.
It depends on the land where the coin is found.
If the soil you are looking for ... is acid soil ... or it is contaminated.
The coin cannot hold for more than 200 years
Nice revelation.
Good piece--nice tension.
LOL😜😜😜😜😜.This is definitely JUST now my GO TO COMEDY SHOW 😅😅😅😅😅! Absolute insanity at its very very best. "A coin, a coin" Lol, 🤪😜🤪😅😅😅, hot on the track now......... once again Lol. Best comedy series nominee?
Best of luck 😎 might seriously consider stepped coffer dams 😏 just saying
Chinese coin. Not rare. Millions made.
Why is it at this island in Canada
I think the brothers are the curse
They should have to take a Lie Detector test to verify some of their Treasure finds, LOL
Another boring story made for children..to be continued LOL
You just know after seeing the season opening episode and seeing cliffhangers like this that this season is going to be HORRIBLE.
Really upset
George Morrison you know, it's not compulsory to watch...
Question, 7 must die right? Ok one more must die, what about the 2 found to be middle eastern and another area
That means this is the season history changes with the treasures of epic proportions. Wish I was there, good luck gentlemen 😉❣
One part of rusted ax and a piece of Chinese coin like? You can better than that if you dig any part of soil in Washington state.
You write like you live in Washington😂
Big treasuer
Train tickets were punched... maybe the coins were punch so they could only be used once
It's Chris eubanks monocle..he was there last year prancing around and it fell out his eye
Best place to hide secrets a island someone is laughing at them didn’t watch last year tried to watch made it 10 minutes the narrator has to go
That is an Ancient asian coin
No it is not. It is a very common Chinese 10 cash coin circa 1905.
Chinesse coin lol
Looks to me like a Chinese we'n ... they can date back to long before the Ming Dynasty, depending on the inscription.
the Chinee s had coins with square holes in middle
They never found treasure did they ?
Xu Chinese king later ... the square hole shrinks.
Cool pirates had a 3/8 ratchet with the ratchet wheel adapter !
Can I move onnnnnnnn.e
Why marty push everybody to spoke like a producer ?
next episode alien coin found! lol
Gcool
There was no curse to oak island no oak island was where a bunch of oaks live and they had what you call pollen and many of people that came from snow were very allergic to the pollen they did not understand their own allergies
Didnt hear anything shocking
Please get rid of jack he is by far the most annoying person on the planet, he’s so oblivious to his surroundings he honestly just says the most obvious things. Not once during the last 8 seasons has he ever said anything that amounts to something intelligent!
LMAO!!!
Nooo waaaay!
Whatvi dont get.... the items they found that have 'value' seem to me to be to many found to be believable...we people 100 plus years ago really that careless with their precious items ? Some of these items would be like losing $100 or 200$ or more in today's funds
Looks like a lock washer to me.
FAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I opend the fridge.... i found some pepperoni from italian decent dated a week ago... there were some anomalies in the marbling. So i made a pizza.....
A Ming Dynasty coin! So China is involved with this curse? I knew it! 😁
Ee Er San.... Nahoma!!!
@@johnwoa "next week on "The Curse Of Oak Island":
