- "Hey there, Bio Buddies! 🌿💚 As much as I love talking about cells, chromosomes, and chlorophyll, I've got to admit, keeping this biology bonanza running takes some serious energy - and not just ATP! If you've ever found a nugget of knowledge or a chuckle in one of my videos, consider tossing a little something into the tip jar. Every donation, big or small, helps keep the lights on and the mitochondria fired up! Together, we can keep this biology party going strong. Thanks for being the DNA to my RNA - you're truly the nucleus to my cell! 🧬✨ #SupportScience #LetTheBioLoveFlow"

I listen to your videos instead of my online lecture's playbacks. You are so much better at teaching these!

26:25 I'm confused why would 50% of females would be carriers on the hypothetical question? Also thank you for the video so so helpful
I was confused over the same thing as well. Only one female is a carrier, or bears the recessive allele
because there are two females and one of them is a carrier, making it 50 percent
A carrier by definition is a female that has a recessive allele but does NOT express the recessive phenotype. Her phenotype is normal or dominant-looking and her genotype is heterozygous (XNXn). She can pass the recessive (Xn) on to her offspring. Only 1 of the 2 females had this so that is 50% of the females are carriers. Also, be careful of wording with these questions. The question asks what percentage of females are carriers vs. what percentage of OFFSPRING (which includes males) are carriers. 50% of females are carriers, while 25% of offspring (1/4) are carriers (no males can be carriers of X-linked recessive alleles bc they only have one X chromosome).
yo tyler you here bro
of course i never miss an upload
Can’t thank you enough!

Would you please mind teaching for neet
I had to look up what NEET is - yes there is A LOT of overlap. I'll definitely make lectures for that syllabus content in the future. It will be a little while before they are made though. Best of luck in your preparations!
