Very difficult for me to sing but I tried. And will continue to. Beautiful also I think I got a few of the words at least some of the words. I just love this simplicity and good taste in treatment of so otherwise overused melody. Everything fits together just right. Nothing overdone, nothing over-showed off - all in total balance. It really works very well. I truly enjoyed it to my biggest surprise!
My mother used to sing me this as a lullaby when I was a child and I thought I'd never hear it again. Recently I was trying to remember the word she sang it in Ukrainian because it's a Ukrainian song. It's very sitting that they're playing at now but this is the only jazz version I've ever heard.

I haven't heard many Russian melodies, this is great, draws you right in. Obviously a jazz treatment of something created in quite another idiom, nice, the clarinet doing some more folk elements in contradistinction to the percussion/piano/bass.
Some other Russian greats---.Dve? Gitarra (2. Guitars), Dorogoi Dlinnoyu (Road is Long = ? Those were the days), Pod---Moskove Nocheya? ( Edge of Moscow Night.+ etc., etc.!!
