Mark Knopfler, j'écoute sa musique tous les jours depuis que j'avais 19 ans. Des Dire Straits à sa carrière solo, ce monsieur est quelqu'un de fantastique. Ses chansons m'ont accompagné tout au long de ma vie et ont été présentes dans tous les moments que j'ai traversés. Grâce à sa musique, je pense avoir surmonté tous les problèmes difficiles auxquels j'ai été confronté. Sa musique a été thérapeutique pour moi, elle m'inspire énormément. J'ai écrit de nombreux projets destinés à aider les gens grâce à sa musique. Mon plus grand souhait serait de pouvoir lui dire cela en personne. Je prie pour avoir la chance de rencontrer Mark Knopfler un jour. Mes enfants ont grandi en écoutant sa musique depuis 1990 jusqu'à aujourd'hui. Cela fait maintenant 34 ans que j'écoute Mark Knopfler matin, midi et soir.

This, Speedway at Nazareth, and Silvertown Blues exemplify why Mark is so loved and respected well beyond his Dire Straits days.
Speedway and S/Blues are 2 of the songs I also would have chosen to epitomise Mark's story-telling skills, also.

Mark and I were both born close to the Clyde. I fished in the upper reaches near Lanark for many years. I now live in Tennessee but Mark's song of the Clyde takes me back, he captivates mixed emotions with his guitar and lyrics. I hope he continues to perform. Thank you Sir, you are the humblest of souls.

This is now one of my favourite Mark Knopfler songs. It just somehow has all the things I love about his music rolled into one.
What I like about Mr. Knopfler is that he paints mental pictures with his guitar 🎸 and his lyrics always match his picking style and enhance his storytelling capabilities. He's in my top ten of great guitar players.

This refers, I am guessing, to the grounding of a redundant steamship at e.g. Gujarat, Pakistan, for purpose of scrapping the vessel. Sad event, and Mark has given that episode a fitting anthem.

Yeh,we know he was born in Scotland but he always has & always will see himself as a Geordie,but to be fair even though this is about ships from the Clyde it could so easily be about ships from the Tyne,both shipbuilding Mecca's (although sadly not so much now, especially the Tyne) but very much kindred spirits the Jocks & the Geordie's,might be because we're the only people who can understand each other 🏴🏴
