First time I ever heard this song was yesterday at my uncles funeral. He loved your music. This song is beautiful. Thank you Mark.
My Dad left us in 2016 after a brave battle against cancer…. he played the pipes and was such a good man …. this got me !🥲Miss him and his bagpipe tunes so much ! ❤️❤️

I grew up listening to what my Dad listened to. Mark Knopfler was a staple in my music house. He has an amazing voice and makes me engage in his music and albums. I love him and his voice is one of the most amazing voice I have heard
when i found out my dad only had few weeks left as he had cancer we sat down and he said nothing but played me this song, i could not look him in the eyes as tears rolled down my face but he just smiled at me :-) this will all ways mean so much th me
It really gets to me,too with an amazing healing effect. I feel in any battle when love is what we share ,love wins. Mark really got that and once again has exposed his heart for all of us.

What a nostalgic song! Similar inspiration as other songs like What it is, created on a Scottish ballad. Here with traditional instruments. Great mix between past and present!

Loved this album when it came out. My dad was a big Knopfler fan, so we went to a few concerts of him, one of them where they played this entire album. When my dad passed away I knew this song has to be played at his funeral. It will forever bring tears to my eyes now, but I will never stop playing it.
Carry my liflong friend the last steps,and his son and his wife played/song this song. Its in my heart till the day its my time.

Before Gas and TV is a great tune that is up there with Drovers Road when it comes to giving me goosebumps.
