I was wondering if you fish other than kayak fish. We tried fishing inside the harbor last weekend between the island and the inlet to the harbor the boat/kayak/paddle boarder traffic was insane. I pretty much only surf fish if I am not yaking, can't stand jetty's or piers. Probably going to hit the surf with cranks and plastics in HB or shore along Alamitos Jetty and see if anything hitting, hopefully a halibut or corbina =)
Yes, I’d avoid the mouth of the harbor, way too much traffic! Surf fishing is the way to go. I’m not a fan of jetty fishing
My friend what brand and model are sandals you have in this video? They are not the Vibram KSO EVO because I already have one of those, let me know, thank you.
You're more than welcome to use my kayak while you wait for yours. 👍
No worries dude; I'll use this time to practice surf fishing and maybe more carp fishing at Irvine Lake
Always look forward to your videos! I have a 2016 outback with bait tank off the top of your head , how do you think i can get for it? Thanks.
Jose Ponce If it’s in decent shape, list it for $2k on Craigslist
Thk you!
@@OCOutdoorsman what fish finder are you putting on the new kayak?
Jose Ponce Not sure yet; it’ll either be a Lowrance or Humminbird
Jose Ponce why are you selling your yak?
Nice job! Do you think that was a short fin corbina or a White Sea bass? I’ve caught both right there on my hobies in shallow.
Good question; my guess was a WSB since corbina have smaller mouths
OC Outdoorsman yeah it’s hard to tell, it’s probably a white sea bass, my friend just caught one off the sand over there and a couple months back I caught a 27 inch
@@vincentunzueta5916 Nice! Almost legal (I think they're supposed to be 28" to keep)
OC Outdoorsman yep, very close so I tossed him back
No kayak no problem you’re out there having a good time🙂
Anthony I agree with Vincent that may be a short fin Corvina. They have a few small “fangs” in their upper mouth.
SaltCreek is not too far away as well as San Clemente pier and beach. I met up with Simon yesterday. The current was ripping at the barber poles and the wind became a nightmare as the day went on. BTW you caught more fish than I did 🤣🤣🤣
Nice.. I was out there camping last month. Should have brought my gear and try my luck before everyone woke up. Stay Salty.. >")))))
Hilarious.... didn't have to walk as there is parking literally right behind ya. Only place in oc where you can back up to the ocean/sand.
So, no fish but still had to be good to get out there and make an interesting vid.
Nick Molinaro Yes, I am determined to fish - even without a kayak 👍
Love your video i fish doheny all the time
All Over Sportfishing Thx for watching! Maybe I’ll see you out there sometime
@@OCOutdoorsman cool that wood be awesome
Fyi....kayaks are terrible. Try an 8ft Achilles with a minnkota trolling motor..... I can stand up lay down...make lunch while fishing 🎣 and room for the dog.... easy lobstering too.
