Have you ever done any official soundtracks? You are so freaking talented - I find it baffling that movies and video games aren't banging down your door to perform for them.
Thank you! I did get to work on a few projects this past year. A song for a game called Inkulinati, and the soundtrack for an audio book by Whitney Avalon. :)
One, I love this rendition. Two, I was actually able to use it in a D&D campaign. Our party was trying to really creep out the people in our caravan, and my bard sang this particular rendition of this song. It was especially fun because my bard plays the dulcimer, and unless I'm much mistaken that's the main instrument in the backing track in this piece. 😁
I fell to this spell as a child, and still to this day, so many years later, it still compels me, sending shivers down my spine with the mere tune, and the magic of the singing does indeed, take me away.
My 8 year old just stood here beside me and listened to this in its entirety, completely enthralled the whole time. And now she's singing along on the third playthrough lol
Gurl when you release your first album you be sure I'll be the first in line to buy it. You're def one of the most talented artists and musicians on UA-cam
You have no idea how hyped I was to see this. I've always thought the original was legitimately haunting and eerie with its guise of innocence while actually being sinister. As always, you did it such justice!
I remember first hearing this full song on a rainy October day 4 years ago as I was waiting for one of my classes to begin. This song has, ever since, been one of my favourites to listen to on a cool autumn day. I especially like the full version as it paints the witch in a different light, where we got the evil, soul stealing version in Hocus Pocus; in this full version she sounds more like a Mother Witch. She genuinely cares about the children and what they are suffering, trying to comfort them but not excusing how bad life can be, just saying “for life must be this way”, helping the children by saying sometimes bad things have to happen. The witch in the full version is such a stark change from the Sanderson Sisters, and I truly love it. You did this song justice and truly made it an enchanting version to listen to.
The lyrics do still entreat the children to come with the singer. In that way it's similar to Yeats' "The Stolen Child". Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
I came here to listen to a new song. Now my guard is down and I’m very curious about this garden of magic. Surely a voice this pure cannot betray…. Into the garden, y’all!
“No man, woman, or child, even those with the greatest will power, could defy the enchantress’s voice. Only yield as she whisked them away, disappearing into an abyss taken in the form of trees.”
If... Or when... they remake the original Hocus Pocus, you have my vote to play Sarah. Brilliant. 10/10 would have followed that voice as a child to my death lol
Whoever they choose to play Sarah not only needs to have singing chops, they must also have the acting chops too in oder to pull off Sarah's dim-whitted personally.
Not only did you do an (as always) excellently ephemeral job of making beautiful music, but you restored the original lyrics! I've always been incensed that most covers say "garden of shadows", especially those who come from witchy-type artists.
I've been in love with this haunting, wistful tune since I first heard it, and you've done a gorgeous job singing it here, keeping all those things I love about it, and adding that very special touch of your own. Beautifully done, Hildegard!
Thy renderings of these melodies are truly marvelous. Thou never dost falter in capturing the very soul of the original tune, and thou maketh it most amusing as well.
Ah, Lady Hildegard, I find myself most enchanted by thy tapestry of tales spun with both sight and sound. Verily, thy rendition of 'Hocus Pocus' hath bewitched mine senses, yet it is in 'I Need a Hero' where I did find particular delight. Forsooth, as thou didst sing of traversing rain, plague, and deluge, the maiden's quip-"You need Legion"-provoked such hearty laughter that I could scarce contain mine mirth. Thy craft is akin to wizardry, and I await, with bated breath, what magics thou shalt conjure next.🎉❤✨💯🤩
This is AMAZING!!! For a while now I’ve wondered about how a medieval version of this song would be, and here it is! This is genuinely incredible! Thanks for this!!! 😍😍😍
This song resonated something to me - it took me all day and a few listens to place it - this is much like the song in Anastacia, "Once Upon a December" Love both songs!
What sorcery is this?!?! This rendition could have even the most faithful and religious brothers and sisters finding themselves flying astride a broom!
After listening to this a few times, I had to go re-watch the movie. The movie version was so short and hard to hear! THIS version is much more satisfying!!
Hildegard woke up and casually decided to bless us on Spooktober like a Santa coming on Christmas with gifts

Unless they are the one singing this song
You’ve earned your children’s souls with this one.

Thank you so much! 🙏☺️

Amazing version! For some reason my brain started hearing "Once Upon a December" from the "Anastasia" soundtrack.
It's very similar
Yes!
Same
I would a cover of this song as well. Imagine perfect little holiday line up.
I could totally see how it made that connection!
The Sanderson sisters in dagged sleeves is what I needed to see today.
Disclaimer: Make sure any children are out of the room when you listen to this, otherwise they might start wandering into the forest.
Especially if you live in Hamelin 😅
😂
Like the Pied Piper.

Have literally been waiting years for someone to do a serious interpretation of the song in this style.
As enchanting as hoped.
Pov: You wake up to the local Fae singing a lovely song and hear your kids start to walk out the door.
Lovely cover as always by the way!
The voice is ethereal and the song sounds like it could be in a Tim Burton film (especially Sleepy Hollow). I love it!
Thank you!
Hauntingly beautiful, you definitely did the song justice. And the illumination art is perfect.
Re the art - especially Kathy Nijimy - the expression is perfect!
Sarah Sanderson, eat your heart out!!!! Beautiful, lyrical, enchanting. You'd steal adults as well as the children with this rendition ❤👏
Just as beautiful as ever, my fair lady. I thank thee for blessing mine ears.
Hildegard is the Elf Queen sitting in a misty ring of stones luring children, young and old, to Faerie Land with her enchanting song 🧚♀️
Not sure if this would be the voice of a witch or an angel… truly bewitching and beautiful.
This Halloween gets a new soundtrack 🔥🔥🔥
