@@deildegast funny enough, you have quite a bit of real and CG in this scene. The wide shots are obviously CGI, but the close-ups are all practical. Heck, the shots of the Talons on the deck prior to launch are actual mockups made for the film. They used the CGI where it was actually needed, and the rest was done using more practical effects Heck, if you watch the dogfight scene, you'll notice that the first Su30M (what they would be irl) destroyed was not a CG model, it was a practical model that they actually destroyed
Speaking of Hornet. The funny thing is that those are legacy Hornets, which were officially retired by the Navy in 2018. Meanwhile these pilots are flying 6th gen jets that are already in production (which are still under development irl). This is basically as funny as having P 51 Mustang pilots watching F 14 prototypes taking off from their flight deck

Made up a Spartan long range hypersonic asm/atg missile (with a ridiculous 800 damage pt antimatter warhead lol) it could fire as well and a Brilliant Rainbow loitering cruise missile with arm capability. Even the best aircraft in that game get shot down though due to the game engine so I used the talon as a hypersonic long range strike aircraft and allowed only a few to reflect it's scarcity. Almost non existent as it were lol 😂
Edi has a flexible wing where control is achieved by moving the shape and surface under the outerskin, drastically reducing drag. Not unlike a bird's wing in someways.
Not really realistic, but futuristic. Real 6th generation fighters would be really stealthy, but the design would be really simplistic. Kinda like the EDI, but sharper
Not really. Russia vs NATO is one of the most commonly used fictional warfare scenarios, UCAVs as a real world concept have been around for decades and sentient AIs for even longer. This film didn't really bring any new concepts to the table or predict much of anything.
@@DCTriv it's basically the only non-franchise film that brings such concept to the big screen simply because of its high budget though. Top gun is definitely more present, conventional warfare rather than full on futurism like this film

i think we have drone fighters atm, but i havent seen much of them, probably because fighters hardly ever do fighter things anymore and we already have ground attack drones

Just a flight of the 3 Talons flying over the Polish / Ukraine border today could change things a lot . They would need to turn their transponders on for about 2 minutes, then they go dark again. Watch the S-400 & S-500s systems going mad trying to find them.

Such a bad movie, lol. Josh Blucas and Jessica Biel came and did a press thing on my carrier as part of the promo for the movie, though, so that was cool.
Old tech that still works is the backbone of the military. The newer electric catapults are only in the new Gerald Ford class and they're having issues.
The writers and actors may leave something to be desired, but the visual artists gave it their A-game.

Book/Movie/TV 101. You have to tell a good story and you have to have relatable characters. Top Gun had that.
