I love this era of 3D in filmmaking where directors were like "you know, we could shove the camera anywhere if we wanted. Make it fly everywhere, all the time, for no reason whatsoever. It's on the plane. It's on the bomb! Who gives a shit, make it spin around if you want!"

If they already knew they were going after warheads, command would already know about the risk of fallout. They'd have the launchers set up as a secondary target to begin with and they'd strike them regardless of the situation with the warheads. They wouldn't have aborted the mission. In fact, they'd likely take the launchers first because the anti-aircraft was located there, then mop up the warheads with gun runs so a ground unit could fly in and take the warheads.

It's Hollywood. Half the movie would have been setting up and executing a proper assault. In this case, at least they included in the plot that intel reports were incorrect about population proximity. Besides the underlying plot hole is that the nuclear war heads would not have released much radiation into a cloud without a proper detonation. The only way to recover the cores would be to repossess them. At best, an attack such as this would have simply ruined the launch capability. It would not have destroyed the nuclear material.

people love to criticize this movie, just for reference, a real world official military strategist said that those F18 juggling to bomb that target on Top Gun Maverick movie was beyond preposterous, there is a much efficient, much more safer, and much more lower cost answer, but.... is no fun, we love to see actors struggling against high G, the thrills, the cliches, the complete nonsense action (those SAM's missiles uses radar to aiming not heat, a 5th generation can not lock on target in a canyon at low altitude but a F15 can, and so on), we enjoy the ridiculous as long as it is enjoyable.

I don’t understand this: a future time, a future technology. Even today, when targets can be destroyed without flying so low, why are they buzzing around like flies over dung here? And once again, America is bringing justice and freedom everywhere :))

Opens weapons bay minutes away from target. So much for stealth. Cockpit the size of a 1982 Cadillac Fleetwood, yeah...bounce around in there like a ping pong ball in a coffee can. "Fuel-Air" munitions are huge cannisters of FUEL not small missiles and they do damage to people by removing oxygen, not massive detonations. They also require specific environmental conditions to operate.

They do remove the oxygen, but by using it up to burn the dispersed fuel. That burning creates a massive detonation and shockwave. It's basically an intentional gas leak explosion.

At 3:40 “Tin Man will not abort. Tin Man will prosecute.” The correct word is “execute”, not “prosecute”. That was a dumb line. execute: “to do or perform something, especially in a planned way” Source: Cambridge Dictionary, 2023.
