I took guitar in high school. I found this exact sheet music piece in a parking lot. While everyone sat around plucking and learning music theory, I spent the entire semester learning it by heart and then played it for my grade at the end. My teacher was wide eyed and speechless. Lol. I didn't go on to be a guitar expert but I can still play this by heart somehow. I don't even know how I remember what to do haha
Me too. I learned to play Blackbird from a friend back in the late 60s. It's so intricate to play. Never knew till recently the history behind it. I was always interested in how he came up with it.
Jethro Tull’s live version on UA-cam (French TV 1969 La Jocund) is by far and away the most prodigious rendering of this beautiful piece. Superlative musicianship displayed with amazing cameo solos..
Well played with accuracy! ❤ This piece is rather short but it demonstrates Bach’s genius of counterpoints to a great extend. Here the melody on the first string is overshadowed by the base line melody, rendering a convoluted mixture of notes, I’d like to see the melody line on the first string to be more of a prominent position, vis-à-vis a key note speaker in a dialogue where it can interact with the base line melody throughout the piece.
I didn't even catch that, thought it was the usual trill with fast hammer on and pull off, but he doesn't do it with the left hand it seems! He's probably choosing a fingering where the trill notes can be played on adjacent strings and then he does a kind of rasgueado-like tremolo I guess, where you alternate quickly between all fingers to strike the strings? (to me it sounds like that because it's very percussive sounding. If you use all fingers from pinky to index you can do exactly a 4 note trill)
How exactly do you do that trill at :22 ?? I play it by using a major 3rd dyad and hammering on the 4th but I do believe thats not correct. Everyone else on youtube plays it that way except for you and my first guitar instructor and ive been trying to figure it out for years
In a time of homelessnes I learned this 1:46 minute piece of greatness. It took most of a year. I've come to watch new technique and remember. I have forgotten the last one-third but this has already helped.
Excellent but i think there's a mistake in the partition you play compared to the original. There's a missing part in the beginning of the second movement in the second part.

The definitive version on guitar. As a child, my dad used to serenade me before bedtime every night with this on his flamenco guitar.
Love it! I was watching an interview of Paul McCartney taking about The Beatles song “Blackbird” and how it was based off this.
That's what got me here too

I am learning the piece right now. Such a great performance. Watched it many times. Thank you

Very, very beautiful rendition. I love it.
Fun fact: Bach in German means small river/body of flowing water.
Fun fact: if Bach was portuguese, his name would be João Sebastião Ribeiro.
@@desiderioelielton2051 In France we call him Jean-Sébastien Bach (and we pronounce it Back) :D
@@aq6390 , in Brazil, we used to call him João Sebastião Bach, but now we do not do it, unfortunately.
Which is why Beethoven once said "Bach sollte nicht Bach, sondern Meer heißen", "Bach shouldn't have been called Bach (= brook) but sea" :D
Fun fact: in modern English Bach translates too “shiny golden god”
Beautiful thanks.
Well played and with a very nice view ;D
Great playing!
I know this one from Jethro Tull back in the 70's. It starts like this and then gets more jazzy and wild.
Lyrics for the first part:
Can't you see he's the man,
Let me hear you applaud,
He is more than a man
He's a shiny golden god.
Que DIOS bendiga tus manos, tu corazón por regalarmps esta hermosa caricia al corazón ❤

Nice playing. Tums up. I had said there is a little more in the second section but... what the hey 👋
Yes there is.
Yeah! Agreed....
also the C in the bass at the end of the first section
The fact that he didn’t use a greenscreen, to honor this Bach masterpiece, is like and subscribe worthy.

Exactly. It sounds better the way it was written. Nobody seems knows the piece, or have an ear for music. What a wasted effort!
I think you need to check the original score of the B section
Correct. I noticed he's missing a small part there. I've heard this piece too many times. Thought I was tripping lol.
