Wow. The guitar adds so much passion and soul to this piece. Also, love the expressiveness of the performer, he's not just playing the piece, he's... FEELING it. Amazing job.
I wasn’t sure about this at first; I thought I would miss the “grandeur” of the sound of the organ. But this is fantastic. Beautiful playing, beautiful tone; great recording.
I didn't believe that this complex piece could be transcribed for classical guitar. I am glad i clicked to start the video. Though it is more like an adaptation than a transcription, it is very enjoyable... and it showcases what a fine instrument can do, expertly managed :) will hear it often. Thanks
I'm by no means a concert level guitarist but I am of the strong opinion that you can do anything on the guitar. Perhaps educated decisions must be made in terms of transpositions and displacing certain notes by an octave or perhaps excluded all together. But for the most part whatever it is it can be done.
@@robkrug4304 i wouldn't go so far as to state "can do anything"... for every instrument has its limited range of notes, and a computer can "play" much faster. There are also limitations as to the spread of the Left hand fingers. A transcription would play every note in Bach's composition for Pipe Organ; an "adaptation" is what you mean. A Pipe Organ is played with 10 fingers to press on keys, plus 2 feet to press on the bass pedals. For 'ukulele, it would be even more difficult to adapt this masterpiece from Bach. Nowadays, church organists don't compose much - there's so much to draw from, once an efficient music notation was developed.
I believe the prevailing opinion among scholars at present is that Toccata and Fugue was originally written for strings and transcribed to the pipe organ later, but that only a copy of the piece for organ survived. It's a very odd piece on a pipe organ, even leading other scholars to assume Bach would never have written it because he never would have written an organ piece like that. For organ, it's simplistic, bombastic, and breaks very many of the rules Bach was devoted to following... however, it's is far more natural as a composition for strings and here, the level of complexity is appropriate for a virtuoso performer. As far as 10 fingers and 2 feet go, much of Toccata and Fugue consists of octaves, if the piece was transcribed to organ, it's likely that these would have been put in to fill out what would have been a sparse sound for such a powerful, and characteristically multi-voiced, instrument; those octaves are the only part of the composition that seem to be missing here.
@@will9357 So, therefore, the scholars could have transcribed it for string orchestra. What we know for sure is that the piece survived as a Pipe Organ version... (With J.S.Bach's name on it.. ) The rest is speculation. Scholars get paid to speculate...
There are a lot of organists who have posted their renditions of this song to UA-cam who need listen to this. His tempo and feeling are absolutely perfect! He GETS it. It's not a race... it should be felt. Amazing job!

Mega ultra wow and respect. This has to belong to the history of what a classical guitar can achieve, perfection in every single aspect of music: nail tone, rhythm, interpretation, groove, continuity, the guitar itself, the reverb, the control, the presence of the artist throughout this gigantic piece. One of the best to ever play this instrument in my opinion. As a classical guitarist myself have to admit I didn't even expect that summit to be conquered.Almost shocked and I'm not exaggerating at all.
My thoughts and sentiments exactly. The clarity of tone, the nuanced phrasing, the volume dynamics, tempo, and flawless technical execution. This represents a new gold standard.
I'm pretty sure Bach would approved this performance and loved it but the most important is to be proud of you, this is an absolutely wonderful interpretation you gave us !!

Гениально....спасибо за музыку за то ,что Вы есть.💥🌟🌹
This piece has always been a favorite of mine. I've heard it on an organ and a harpsichord...never on a guitar. This is awesome!
You deserved this like from this artist. I couldnt sad it better myself. You took words out of my mouth... Thank you!
@@dejzzster Thanks a lot my friend
I'm just an amateur, but I am very much into the guitar and this is - wow. I couldn't have put it better than you. Amazing.
Absolutely incredible gymnastics on the fretboard, wonderful performance thank you
My thoughts and sentiments exactly. The clarity of tone, the nuanced phrasing, the volume dynamics, tempo, and flawless technical execution. This represents a new gold standard.
Bravo, Maestro....this touched my soul.
أداء راءع سكون يتخلل النوطات الموسيقية في مكان يبعث المؤلف المبدع باخ في حينه ..... في وحدة الزمان والمكان ❤
I'm pretty sure Bach would approved this performance and loved it but the most important is to be proud of you, this is an absolutely wonderful interpretation you gave us !!
What an arrangement...and so flawlessly performed. Sheer genius. There can only be a few people on Earth that could play at (THAT) level. Masterly...
Absolutely incredible. I’ve been playing for decades and don’t have a hope in the world of playing this. If a miracle happened and I could, it wouldn’t have the nuance and impeccable technique on display here. Unbelievable. Positively spell bounding. Most of all, thank you. It’s not only impressive but a testament to your own dedication, and let’s be honest, obsession with this piece. It undoubtedly took more time than any of us could give credit for. Bravo.
You my friend are a true guitar virtuoso. You’ve reached heights of artistry that very few guitarists reach. Brilliant control, clean tone, flawless tempo. And above all, soul.
These are very hard days for the whole world. Listening to this melody and how it is executed, make me have hope in the future. Thanks for your music.
One of the best performances of this beautiful piece of music. Love hearing it banged out on the organ, but this is so subtle and controlled.
Thank you
I never heard this piece on the guitar and I didn't think it could work. You proved me wrong. A truly mesmerising performance, thank you.
Какое счастье - иметь возможность услышать безупречное исполнение любимого классического произведения! Огромное Вам спасибо! Удивительный талант!
Your interpretations of bach's music are my favorite, your music is unbelievably alive!
My neighbors will hate me for this, but i couldn't help myself, i had to stand up and applaud. Amazing, just amazing..
Исполнено потрясающе , слушаю и чувства переполняют : слёзы на глазах , нет слов...Спасибо вам...💘💔
My first and still favorite of yours. Unreal. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you, Dave! Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
Исполнитель раскрыл максимальные возможности гитары исполняя это произведение! Браво !!!
I'm speechless... 12 years of guitar and just feel as a beginner after watching you play.
No words can express how that piece made me feel.
Thank you sir.
One of the best guitar performances I've ever seen.
....the most astonishing rendition of this piece I've ever heard,..on any instrument, bravo!!
The nobility of the classical guitar, perfectly exemplified. Lifts you out of ordinary life. Otherworldly. Thank you.
A masterful interpretation of a timeless baroque piece. Thank you for recording this.
Как нежно, оказывается, звучат произведения Баха, исполненные на гитаре. Понравилось очень.
Я бы сказала: именно это произведение! А Пера-Улофа Киндгрена не слышали? Тоже очень «нежно»:

Bravo! Your amazing interpretation illustrates the breadth and depth of the classical guitar tonal capability. Especially in your hands!
Here I lay in bed one night trying to turn of the world and run across this gem! What phrasing and what musical control! After listening to this for just five minutes i am completely relaxed and not thinking about the world. Thank you Tariq for sharing such beauty with the world.
The transcription is very very well done, thanks to Edson Lopes. (Not to take away from the masterful playing)
This is perfection! Thank you for posting, maestro!
.And I'm Still in love with this tune/video/artist. ..and I return to this tune, time after time..
2023 Verry verry good sound, and performance !!! ❤ᜃ♠ Thanks.
Wow just amazing! After listening to this piece played on pipe organs and pianos, its refreshingly beautiful to hear it on guitar. I never thought it possible!
How could you not like this performance? It was passionately and brilliantly executed. Well done sir!
There are solid reasons to not like the australian guitar tone, it's noticeably different from a traditional construction. That aside, there's nothing to dislike about the performance tbh, it's great.
Absolutely! Only those with no soul could dislike this!
The tone here is astonishing!
Thank you mister Harb. I really needed that. I can go to sleep peacefully now.
Tone. Dynamic control. Fun. Perfect. Loved this 100 %
You really demonstrate the polyphonal aspects of your instrument in the way that Segovia talked about it and did. Just amazing.
This is absolute perfection. The sound of the guitar is splendid, the balance between bass and high notes is astonishing, there is not a single sound of a sliding finger... simply breathtaking.
Thank you Mr Harb for sharing, and thanks to Mr Lopes for the beautiful adaptation!
I don't miss the orchestra when listening to this masterpiece.
