  • Addys Reilly was born in Havana, Cuba, on November 2nd, 1962. As a child, she perceived Communism as an integral part of everyday life. She fondly recalls her family engaging in black-market exchanges solely for survival. Addys' parents were not loyal to Fidel Castro and made efforts to shield her from the regime's brutality. She vividly remembers the Cuban school system's endeavor to indoctrinate her at a tender age. Notably, Addys shared a preschool class with Che Guevara's daughter. During her time in Havana, Addys can still recall Castro delivering lengthy speeches that could extend for hours. It wasn't for a whole decade that her family secured visas for Spain, allowing them to flee Communist Cuba forever.
