Now we need a video where you renovate this house, keeping “the essence” of it but maybe a little less…weird.
This. Even if he wanted to change up all the color schemes and utilized different textures too, but kept with the idea of the Original House as a trendy and entertaining community lot where you could "rent" rooms.
And maybe make the bathroom functional lol
Keep the exterior of the house and the landscaping heights, but everything else is fair play for him to change.
Ah, yes. The bathroom. That's the room I want to have 4 wall-sized windows, pointed directly at the steps leading to my front door. No privacy issues here.

as well as no door, it also seems to be floating a level above the rest of the house (edit: upon further look, i actually have no idea how this room is positioned, the grid lines up with the rest of the floor, but the wall height does not? it's like half a tile from the rest of the building? which is impossible?)
i am always in such awe of how james can always tell what build strategies and items are used even if he can only see a little. this is such a cool build, great work

This house gives me such Sims 1 vibes. Awkwardly spacious, bizarre furniture choices, orange toned wood floors with red wallpaper... I LOVE IT!
I spent so much time trying to recreate the empty cavernous rooms from the opening video in Sims 1, I thought they were so cool. Ah memories!
@@KorriTimigan The spaciousness was so necessary in the original Sims and Sims 2 though! Sims would get trap each other constantly.

I'd love to see the guru who built this react to this video, I wanna know which of the sneaky tricks like the bushes around the pillars were exactly right and what you may have gotten just almost right but was actualy done differently.

Your consistent passion for this game is inspirational! You must keep a notepad beside your bed at night so that when you wake up with another brilliant idea in the middle of the night you can write it down! This is the most hideous build I have ever seen and yet I love it! ❤❤❤😂😂

This reminds me of how back when I was a kid and played the Sims 1 I used to sit down and watch the intro excitedly each time, and they built this funky looking house - so I tried to mimic the build myself (and back then I didn't even know screenshotting was a thing so I just saved, closed the game and reopened it to see how the house looked each time lol!)
We even got a little terrain tools tutorial built in! Just a few days ago i was trying to do something similar with terrain and I gave up 😩 Now I'm inspired to go back and try again!
The terrain tools are pretty good if you can work them out, but they're a little clunky haha
this came out great, would love for hazel to come out of retirement for one last gig to make this house functional
architecture student here! that style with the columns holding up the house and the huge windows covering all the walls is Le Corbusier’s five points of architecture.

Okay actually though, the line of wall lights as an art thing? That's pretty cool.
I'd love to see you do a update/reno of this to evoke this original design but be made more functional.
Next you should attempt the Sarah Winchester House floor plan 😊 or capture its essence with confusing hallways and rooms to nowhere and rooms leading through others

I work from home 3 days a week and honestly don't take many breaks but when I make myself take one it usually includes watching a few minutes of James. This was amazing how much you made your house look like EA's house. I would love to see a renovation of this with your touch. Thank you for filling my life with fun.

As weird as the layout of this house is, I'm actually very inspired by the multi-level aspect of it. I NEVER touch terrain raising tools so maybe it's time...

I like how much stuff the promotional picture utilises!! The terrain manipulation, split levels without the actual splitting, and the position of greenery is phenomenal!!

I've been loving all the content lately, but even as entertaining as some of the series are... this was amazing to me. I mean to be able to shut your brain off enough to really see what's actually going on. I never would have noticed that pool was where it was. To me looking at it, my brain just plopped it on the same height, right close to the back patio area, but it's on a different level and so far away! You did a really fantastic job with this.
I would love to see a video where you renovate this to make it more practical. And it would be so cool if you could ask The Sims 4 team to provide you with the original file for this house so that you can compare your recreation to it. It would be awesome if they agreed to giving it to you.
Also, I love the music! It has got some real nostalgia vibes.

Personally, I love it. Great unique vibe, but easily walkable and useful, too. A bit much on the shrubbery, but it does look good, so...not going to complain about that for once. I love how you did the 'unseen' areas behind and under the house. You should build more homes like this. I am partial to the 'split level' styles.

Very entertaining video! I had so much fun looking at the comparison between your build and the original. You should definitely do a renovation of it because it has a lot of potential, especially with the underground pathway and the usage of the landscape tool.
YASSS! I wanted to see this house made real! lol I can't remember if I looked at it long enough to notice it was weird; I think I did but not to this extent. Btw, I always wanted to recreate that house you see at the top of the EA Gallery website; overlaying the screenshot of the enthusiastic red-headed Sim on the left. I think they built it on that empty lot, Arid Ridge, in the Skyward Palms neighborhood of Oasis Springs, where the Caliente's live (alongside two empty houses.) I'm assuming it's all base game because I think that image has been on the gallery for as long as I can remember! There's no floor plan, and it looks rather small and weird in hindsight, but I was irked that EA hadn't shared it (from what I could tell by.) I'd be thrilled if James wanted to build that one too!

In general this is such a cool build challenge idea - copying any build with just one picture from just one angle! You could challenge other people to do one of your builds, or get Deli to make a build and take a picture for you to copy
This is a good shell challenge. Wish we could see who built it to at least give props to them, even if only for the shell 😂

Stunning bit of work, the overlay is incredible. Definitely agree that it has alot of scope for tweaking. The lower area is really interesting and could definitely be played around with alot. Weirdly kept wanting you to do the walkways as swimming pools. Either way, you definitely understood the assignment. ☺️
