This. Even if he wanted to change up all the color schemes and utilized different textures too, but kept with the idea of the Original House as a trendy and entertaining community lot where you could "rent" rooms.
Ah, yes. The bathroom. That's the room I want to have 4 wall-sized windows, pointed directly at the steps leading to my front door. No privacy issues here.
as well as no door, it also seems to be floating a level above the rest of the house (edit: upon further look, i actually have no idea how this room is positioned, the grid lines up with the rest of the floor, but the wall height does not? it's like half a tile from the rest of the building? which is impossible?)
i am always in such awe of how james can always tell what build strategies and items are used even if he can only see a little. this is such a cool build, great work
I'd love to see the guru who built this react to this video, I wanna know which of the sneaky tricks like the bushes around the pillars were exactly right and what you may have gotten just almost right but was actualy done differently.
I'd love to see you use the shell of this house to make something functional in your actual style! this house definitely has huge potential and i feel like you'd do an amazing job

This was so entertaining! The house is the epitome of an EA build. I'm actually really excited to give this home a refresh, it has so much potential! You did a great job recreating it!
The sheer effort put into this build 🥵 From one perfectionist to another, I feel your pain James! But it came out so good and looked so similar to the inspo. Worth it!
This reminds me of how back when I was a kid and played the Sims 1 I used to sit down and watch the intro excitedly each time, and they built this funky looking house - so I tried to mimic the build myself (and back then I didn't even know screenshotting was a thing so I just saved, closed the game and reopened it to see how the house looked each time lol!)
We even got a little terrain tools tutorial built in! Just a few days ago i was trying to do something similar with terrain and I gave up 😩 Now I'm inspired to go back and try again!
architecture student here! that style with the columns holding up the house and the huge windows covering all the walls is Le Corbusier’s five points of architecture.
Okay actually though, the line of wall lights as an art thing? That's pretty cool. I'd love to see you do a update/reno of this to evoke this original design but be made more functional.
I work from home 3 days a week and honestly don't take many breaks but when I make myself take one it usually includes watching a few minutes of James. This was amazing how much you made your house look like EA's house. I would love to see a renovation of this with your touch. Thank you for filling my life with fun.
Next you should attempt the Sarah Winchester House floor plan 😊 or capture its essence with confusing hallways and rooms to nowhere and rooms leading through others
You know I've always known you had a bunch of genius to you but this right here is next level genius. You could be an architect or an advertising exec or anything with your set of skills. I'm just grateful that you decided to entertain us!
Definitely a very cool build challenge! I loved watching you put this together. If there’s any other weird builds from early sims promo, I’d love to see you try it. Even the houses from the sims 1 and 2 intro/trailer videos!
I like how much stuff the promotional picture utilises!! The terrain manipulation, split levels without the actual splitting, and the position of greenery is phenomenal!!
This is genuinely astonishing, just really blew me away how completely right on it was with the picture. You really are a true artist with such a unique eye and attention to detail. More important of all though, to me, is you’re really fun to watch and you brighten my day. There are a lot of great builders out there, but I you are charismatic and a good laugh, thank you! 🙂 You and Deli both make my day!
I would love to see a video where you renovate this to make it more practical. And it would be so cool if you could ask The Sims 4 team to provide you with the original file for this house so that you can compare your recreation to it. It would be awesome if they agreed to giving it to you. Also, I love the music! It has got some real nostalgia vibes.
Very entertaining video! I had so much fun looking at the comparison between your build and the original. You should definitely do a renovation of it because it has a lot of potential, especially with the underground pathway and the usage of the landscape tool.
I've been loving all the content lately, but even as entertaining as some of the series are... this was amazing to me. I mean to be able to shut your brain off enough to really see what's actually going on. I never would have noticed that pool was where it was. To me looking at it, my brain just plopped it on the same height, right close to the back patio area, but it's on a different level and so far away! You did a really fantastic job with this.
YASSS! I wanted to see this house made real! lol I can't remember if I looked at it long enough to notice it was weird; I think I did but not to this extent. Btw, I always wanted to recreate that house you see at the top of the EA Gallery website; overlaying the screenshot of the enthusiastic red-headed Sim on the left. I think they built it on that empty lot, Arid Ridge, in the Skyward Palms neighborhood of Oasis Springs, where the Caliente's live (alongside two empty houses.) I'm assuming it's all base game because I think that image has been on the gallery for as long as I can remember! There's no floor plan, and it looks rather small and weird in hindsight, but I was irked that EA hadn't shared it (from what I could tell by.) I'd be thrilled if James wanted to build that one too!
Once again I am amazed at the things James can do with that terrain tool. Am now looking forward to a usable reno of this build. It's absolutely beautiful. Thank you for your amazing content.
Personally, I love it. Great unique vibe, but easily walkable and useful, too. A bit much on the shrubbery, but it does look good, so...not going to complain about that for once. I love how you did the 'unseen' areas behind and under the house. You should build more homes like this. I am partial to the 'split level' styles.
Watching you slide the photo for comparison is so satisfying lol Build challenge where people send you a screenshot of their weird builds and you try and match the screenshot 😂
This build gives such 80s and (some) 90s vibes! It would be neat to see you take more liberties with it and make it your own. Hopefully you'll do a reno of it!
YOU are so talented!!! I love watching when you do stuff like this - (burger boys-mcdonalds, high school- real high school here in USA, now this from the Sims4 game) so much fun! thanks for all the content James!
After recreating every big wallet building not on the gallery, and then giving up on recreating Chaz's farm, I cannot properly express how satisfying it is to watch James try such a difficult recreation.
Your attention to the little details are as always on point. Would love to see a fixer up to the weiredness but such a cool house with great potentail . Maybe a bigwallet could move in...🤷♀
As weird as the layout of this house is, I'm actually very inspired by the multi-level aspect of it. I NEVER touch terrain raising tools so maybe it's time...
