Upgrading RAM on HP Probook 6560b

- Hi, today I'll be upgrading the system memory to the maximum this PC supports. I bought a Crucial memory kit, that's 2 sticks at 8GB of DDR3 PC3 10600 (1333Mhz) SODIMM; these two will happily replace my single 4GB stick, taking the full two avaliable slots. Just pop up the panel by holding the latch to the right, remove the existing module by releasing the notches, and extract it by pulling the RAM stick in a 45 degree angle. Take the two new sticks out, make sure the notches are aligned, and insert them again, in a 45 degree angle. After closing the panel, turn on your PC and if doesn't turn on, just open the panel again, resit the sticks, but blow any debri in the slots. When the PC turns on, click on the Windows logo, then click on FILE EXPLORER, right click on THIS PC, select the last option which reads PROPERTIES, and make sure the Installed Memory (RAM) says 16.0GB. This tutorial also works for both, the 4GB and 8GB configuration if you aren't upgrading it to the maximum; just make sure you install it in pairs, they are the same size, and hopefully, you got then from the same manufacturer.

Guys, that Crucial website can help you to check what's the maximum of GBs for your specific model!
really good video
I have the Probook 6560b, Undergraded to 16gb of ram, back in 2015 ish I couldn't afford the ram prices and lots of scammers, prices were around 80-125 dollars for 16gb of ram on ebay but it's dropped down to 50 dollars across most markets for the DDR3 PC3 10600 (1333Mhz & 1600 mhz) SODIMM (2022) . Good laptop
I use it for studying and gaming on linux
Short notice for Probook ram upgraders: some versions with Intel i3 cpu might detect only up to 8gb of ram and as I heard i3's only can use up to 1333mhz speed ram on this laptop while versions with i5, i7 can get to 1600mhz. So be sure to check this before buying. I personally have i5 version with 4 gigs running on 1600mhz and I plan on upgrading to 2x8 gigs at 1600mhz
where can i check this?
Damn I'm an idiot I thought it only worked on the frequency of 1333mhz. of course you can use 1600mhz ram it just won't work on that frequency and dial it to 1333mhz is how I interpreted it. not an issue though
Thank you so much guys for watching this video! i hope it has been of help!
That's easy!!
Can I install the i7-2670QM in this notebook? 6560b
Do you still use this laptop? I’d plan to buy a 6560b for my entire college.
My brother
I recommend a Windows 10 laptop with 8GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, DVD drive (college library's disc format documentaries) and at least a 2GB of dedicated graphics.
It's good if you know how to use Windows software that your college requires on Linux. I use mine for lots of studying but I didn't use it for College because at the time software incompatibilities from lack of knowledge of fixing and knowing which packages to download on ubuntu back then.
I can't get the first memory out the first Bank not enough give. How did u get it out so easily.
Just release then from both notches. Move it a little bit from side to side.
Hey can i use only single 8gb ram in one slot and other one empty??
Yes.
Yes. Some people desolder off the ram for some reason, i guess for the gold, maybe that was just a uncommon occurrence I had.
What was that near intel sticker
Windows 7
@@megamanx2006 nope that was finger scaner I think
Do u know how to use Windows hello with this? The finger print scanner login.
Not really. I know Windows Hello should allow us to login by fingerprint scanning or facial recognition.
oh I figured it out, just had to get the right driver. Windows Hello works now!
I don't answer questions.
Is there a specific ram brand I should use or any is fine
Good morning! Any brand will work, just make sure you use the same architecture. PNY and Kignston are good, trusty brands.
No, any is just fine. I use the off-brand ones on ebay , works just fine. I would use the same ram though. I am pretty sure the architecture doesn't matter as much as people claim it to be judging by the cross-compatibilities improvements since the 1970s
can u pls give the buying link

Does it really work?I was told that we cannot upgrade simply by putting new rams as it already is inbuilt
RAM and Hard Drive/Solid State Drive upgrades are always welcome. I don't think we should be upgrading video cards nor processsors.
You were lied to.
@@megamanx2006 We should.
@@garymorris6835how do you do that without fucking the laptop up
@@lex2k1 you can change processor very easily not graphics
Can I install a DDR4 instead?
Man... I'm not sure...
no
nope
No. Unless you change out the motherboard and someone fit it inside the board, then it's not really a probook 6560b.
Hola amigo quisiera pedirte ayuda.
Pues pregunta a ver si te puedo ayudar...
Can i use 2 different type of ram?
I would advise to just stick to same brand and architecture.
'Can', sure. Is it a good idea? Probably not. Consider the fact that RAM manufacturers are always walking on egg shells regarding patent infringement even though ram has been around since the 1970s , would they rather use a different architecture just to apease the giants who probably DO know they exist but rather not worth their time? It may be possible even to use 2 different ram and run the same, there are smart people out there, maybe even better.

Y otra pregunta esos disco duros SSD me hara trabajar mas rapido mi laptop?
