Man, I think you should keep doing reviews, I like your style and the way you talk is natural and pleasant. Also, you provide plenty of info about the car.
How much do you get charged to change the PTU fluid? I just picked up a used ‘13 and did a full fluid flush and injector cleaning. PTU fluid change is next on the list for me
My 2013 SHO made it to 132,000 miles when I decided to do the timing chain/water pump maintenance. $2400.00 spent. Good to go right? Not so much. The very next week the oil seal in one of the turbochargers went bad with bad smoking of exhaust. Not willing to put another $3600.00 into it, I parked it at the end of the driveway instead of the garage that night. Mysteriously, it had an engine fire that very night, in the middle of the night. Weird how that happened but thanks Progressive...
Keep in mind, The 2013 model year for the SHO was known to have issues. Ford made corrections starting with a 2016 model year, where there is very few issues with the water pump and timing chain, were they added a second bearing into the water pump, keeping it from failing. I would never advise anybody to buy anything less than a 2016 SHO if they were interested in these cars.
I've got a black 2016 myself ... just getting to 34,000 miles. Pretty much the same as this one, of course, except a couple / few mods. H&R lowering springs. K&N air filter and cold air intake, straight piped the resonator/third cat, Flowmaster 40 Series race mufflers out back. Always run it with traction control off to get the all wheel drive balanced out better .. I don't drive crazy. Ecoboost engine is pretty decent in stock configuration. But even with these sort of basic mods, gets downright frisky. Kind of jumpy. Wants to run, like, all the time. The lowering springs do wonders for the handling. No torque steer, no dive. Superior highway cruiser. And like he said, one damn good daily driver. Under the radar, but somehow or other, people don't usually hold me up. And I almost stopped at Steeda Motorsports on Friday to see about some tuning options. After seeing this? Might be headed back soon.
this was perfect answer to the srt charger back ‘10 but Ford virtually left car untouched as in horsepower. this car could’ve been a real beast from the factory had they showed it some tlc. now the SHO has a death sentence, smh.
You'll like the car man. But just FYI google timing chain stretch - You should be aware of it. You have to pay the price to drive one of these cars. They aren't exactly reliable in my opinion. Just make sure you have a warranty or extended warranty. Saved me 3 grand already.
Will have still 1 year on the transferable warranty. Hopefully would be broken in at 46,XXX. Seems like it would need the regular preventative maintenance your saying? Like pump, chains, etc. You also mentioned no AUX but it has Bluetooth to pair up like an iPhone right?
SHO for sure I have slapped so many BMW's and Audi's its ridiculous. I push the button to bring the gas peddle forward I put the car into sport mode and slam the gas peddle there are not many who have been able to keep up with me. Even at 80 MPH I can downshift to 3rd punch it, shift to 4th, and this car will still have room to accelerate. for the price I don't think you can get a faster car. With a stage 1 tune you can get another 50 horse power maybe more and that's without adding any parts your already at 400 HP. There is alot you can do to these cars and considering you can get one for less than 15k where I live they are super cheap.
Actually my friend he’s right. The V8 SHOs only came mated to automatics, although the first gen SHO did come with a Yamaha tuned V6 that was available with a 5 speed.
Hi! I'm considering purchasing a used 2013 ford taurus and came across this video. Has anyone had any issues with the throttle body? I've read a few reviews about the car just shutting down mid drive.
These cars really are nice and YES they are quick. But reliability is the issue. Timing chain / water pumps/ turbos / PTU. Trust me. My car is babied and I had to replace timing chain / tensioner / water pump / rear turbo at 85K. This is the norm for a ecoboost SHO. 3K in repairs - which in all reality shouldn't be occuring. Google it
You should clarify your facts before reviewing a car with such a following. SHO is not a trim level. And stop comparing to your 96 town car your grandma gave you.
Who needs an AUX chord when you have USB and Bluetooth?
I do ..cause I plug in my guitar lol
@@patrickstearns7958 That's for a different use though

The turn signal is set up that way,to keep people from leaving the things on for miles, and miles, without knowing they have it on
I own this car. Keep up to date with fluid changes such as PTU fluid, coolant and oil.

What’s ptu?
@@QthAgR8 it's the transfer case, basically converts the power from the engine to spin the rear wheels in layman's terms
By 2013, you connected your phone with bluetooth. No need for "AUX cords".

@@R.P.EWell that's good to know...Was that a change from 2016 and onward or actually the 2017 'update'?
So you committed insurance fraud ? Smh

My brother had a 2011 wast a SHO but the limited and it was so aweosme had over 200k miles
As used car buy. Best bang for buck, for a daily.
Hope so, just bought one this morning!
@@ShadyLife101 Congrats, keep her clean she'll take good care of ya.
Also you can use just the Red and White Cable for aux . RCA - 3.5mm adapter would do it
You don't need an aux because of sync. You just use bluetooth with your phone.
Fun fact: The SHO (Super High Output) Taurus, and all other Taurus and Explorers are built in my neighborhood here in Chicago!
Because Miata hegewisch?
Yes sir, that's it!

Get a UPR catch can. I just had my engine replaced do to much carbon build up.
What grade fuel are you using?
Must be an option because my 11 SHO has an aux input in same location. But if it didn't? It was 2013 what device didn't have bluetooth?
The SHO never came with a manual transmission and a V8 Engine.
Hey it’s the bobs bigboy guy
How do you feel about head room? I am 6' 5" and looking at a 2013
You'd be fine.

There was never a stick shift v8 SHO.

Of course I'm right. There was a v8 but auto. I know my Fords.
I own one-
And know a lot about the V8’s
They didn’t come in manual
However, people have swapped MTX’s
Into them
Brolution Gaming do you know which gearbox? These things are not cute lol.
