Ah, the Harris Grade Road...I recognized that corner in the video, even before you said the words. It's amazing how some views stick in your memory when you're on a bike. 🙂 For some reason I really enjoyed that road, maybe because it was such a contrast both to the coast and to the flat, straight roads of the first half of the day. It felt like visiting a different ecosystem. Cayucos was also memorable. I stopped and watched surfers from the pier for about half an hour...beautiful glassy swells.
I’m loving your posts and the authenticity that you bring to these rides. You’re obviously a strong rider and to hear you deal with the physical and mental challenges makes it seem more approachable, if that makes sense. Thanks for posting!
Thanks! I will always show it like it is. Sometimes I question myself showing the difficult bits because I don't want to come across as complaining about things, but I think it's important to be honest about the challenges of riding bikes. No matter how difficult things get out there, at the end of the day, I'm having a blast riding my bike!
Lol... you had me smiling from the start when you said it's not a huge ride just 95 miles!! That's a monster ride for me. Fair play to you for completing it with the climbing involved and into a headwind 👍👍👍
Haha! To be fair, 95 miles is a lot! I had to convince myself 95 miles wasn't that much in the greater context of the overall mileage. I was just happy that I wasn't up against the elevation from the previous day. Although, after facing the headwinds, I'll take that elevation any day!
Well done! Sometimes it's easy to get lost in the rhythm of pedaling, other times it's hard to find that rhythm; that is when doubt and negativity floods the mind and make it hard to spin the pedals. Glad to see you beat those negative thoughts and make it to the days end goal. Now you have one more memory to fight back the negativity next time it tries to bring you down. I'm sure that squeaky chain didn't help easy your mind either.

Head wind is always, alway the worst. So brutal and mentally demoralizing. I’m glad you kept pushing and finished the day. Well done!
Thanks man! I agree, I'll take rain or hills over headwinds!
