on long trips I keep a small 2 or 4 oz bottle of wax chain lube in a zip lock bag. After closing the bag I wrap the zipper around the bag (like a dry bag) and use a rubber band to keep it closed. I get Finish-Line-Lubricant-Squeeze-Bottle. It has a cap so it should not leek (I have never had a problem with it )
You could see that your body was feeling a bit beat up in the morning. Par for the course sometimes eh? As far as lube is concerned I use Muc-Off and the cap is absolutely solid and I've never had an issue. I used to store it in a Ziploc bag but I don't even bother with that these days. On any trip you need lube! Great ride and Ventura must have made all the tough going worthwhile :)
Yeah, I didn't realize how visibly I was wearing down by the end of the trip! I could have done a better job training for the volume, but it all worked out ok. I definitely should have brought lube. Good tip on the Muc-Off, I've been meaning to try that brand, thanks!
To be honest, I had not heard of Henry before this. A google search satisfied my curiosity, but I'm not sure where he is from. There is a Ventura Freeway... maybe it was a highway back in the day. I was parallel to it a few times.
It did the job for a day and half. I ended up stopping at a bike shop the next day and asking them to lube the chain properly. In hindsight I did a poor job of applying it, but I don't think it works as well as a dedicated dry lube. I would keep it in the "emergency use" catagory.
That Santa Barbara bike path is so badass. Right in front of the ocean.
It's a good one!
I’m loving this!

Isn't Henry wildeberry from around that area?....and is there actually a Ventura highway in Ventura, like the song by America?....

Is WD-40 works great for a chain. I haven't used it but I might try it if it works.
