Asheville police release body-camera video of use-of-force arrest

- The body-worn camera video showing the arrest of Devon Whitmire, 27, by Asheville Police Department officers on May 13, 2023, has been released.
The city of Asheville asked a judge to allow the release of the footage on May 19, and the petition was granted on May 22.
The video allows the public to see the events surrounding the arrest. The public can also hear the words spoken by Whitmire as he was approached by officers.

Why is this arrest even controversial? He has a warrant, his own family called the police, he threatened the officers and head butts a cop! He should be in prison for years and years.

When the police follow protocol, The police videos are released immediately. When there is police misconduct, show the same energy.
I'm not pro police but these officers were great in how they responded to a difficult situation. There's something wrong with Devon. I bet his twin Tevon is tired of all of the conflict D. causes in the family.

I praise these officers for the way they handle the situation. He is arrested from a call declaring he wants to kill people, says he is the twin of himself, and escalate the situation by provocation, lies, and bullshit and police officers are under investigation????????
