    For anyone wondering what it tastes like: Like ACTUAL cheescake! My dad said it could be sweeter but it's very good anyway. Would highly recommend. BUT!! The crust was too thin so I had to use an extra cup of walnuts and dates to make enough. AND DON'T USE A PROCESSOR FOR THE CHEESE PART!! It leaves the cashews not blended well no matter how long you let it run. Use a blender like a Ninja and it'll come out smooth like in her video. And when you take it out after 3 hours let it sit for a bit. Gives it a better texture :)

    Wow! Just made this cake and it tastes awesome! Way better than 'normal' cheesecake with all the sugars, butter and eggs..
    And you don't even feel bad after eating this, no food-hangover!
    Only 1 critical point: don't eat to much, because it is raw vegan, doesn't mean that it is a light dish.. still contains as much calories as a normal one I guess..

    Alright guys, for all those people asking if it's good....It's amazing, I used to be such a junk food addict and I ate all the unhealthiest foods out there starting from donuts, to muffins, to mc'donalds etc.... I can honestly say, they all made me feel like absolute shit. This raw vegan recipe is so yummy, like for all of you people saying u don't like coconut oil or the taste of coconuts, trust me, u won't taste it, it blends nicely with the other ingredients. If you want to decorate the cake then get a piping thing and put the rasberry sauce on top, I like using blueberries but u can use any fruit basically! It'll make u feel healthy and fresh while tasting delsih so please try it!!

      I was wondering if there was a substitute for the coconut oil also but only because someone in the fam is allergic to coconut, but I might make something else for him anyways.

    This looks delicious!!!! For anyone who wants to make a less fatty version of this, you can substitute the coconut oil for frozen bananas

    • @antotheja251
      @antotheja251 11 років тому +1

      does that work? i always thought of a better way? how about buying a coconut milk with a high percentage of coconut, usually it is already quite thick then. does it do or still has the same amount of fat? would love to hear from you, thx

    • @Smiles5s5s
      @Smiles5s5s 10 років тому

      Anto theja
      Theoretically it works. lol. I just thought since bananas can be used as egg replacer and kind of make things thick, I thought it would work. I'm not sure about your question... I've never tried that, sorry.
      But on a completely unrelated, but somewhat related note, may I suggest this kind of but not really related clip that you may find of use since we're talking about all things coconut: nutritionfacts.org/video/is-coconut-oil-good-for-you/

    I have made that cheesecake and i love it! I put normal syrup because agave syrup its a bit expensive, but i think that it tasted really good! It was really sweet so you can only eat one piece but that waas amazign! creamy, with a little lemon taste. I just love it! Thanks Cassey for the recipe!!!

    I tried this and actually really enjoyed it! I did substitute some things though. I used almonds instead of walnuts for the crust, and drizzled in a little organic maple syrup to bind it instead of using dates. For the filling I used maple syrup instead of agave. It's really tasty :)

      Nuts and coconut oil are high in calories and fats that are good for you. But like any cheesecake, eat in moderation.

    • @SammySingally
      @SammySingally 9 років тому

      FudgecakesGOOD18 Coconut oil is empty calories. It is not a fat that is good for you (just like olive oil and all other oils). I'm speaking from research and not just things I've been told.
      This is a high fat cheesecake and the quantity of fat in it is in no way good for anyone (even just in one slice).

      and one more thing before I shut up: how unrooted people can become of their own-culture, like: Asians used to look at their meal mainly consisting of a bowl of whole-grains or brown-rice and vegetables, during the eating-process having a connection to what's on their plate. How denaturized we are as a society being all about showing-off/bragging instead of true-compassion/honesty. Good eye&day and may god bless us, all.

    i've had this cheesecake before, and I used to work at a cafe where we used this recipe - it really does taste similar to a cheesecake - zesty, light, sweet, not too dense, you can't taste the nuts or anything. honestly, it's delicious (or I think so, anyway)

  • @calabashyoga4943
    @calabashyoga4943 11 років тому

    You can replace the dates with raisins dark ones or the light ones or even figs. But dates are the sweetest and it allows for the binding to the nuts well to press down into the dish. I would place a piece of parchment paper
    on the bottom of the dish before placing the crust down.
    Namaste

      ***** thank you. I also use coconut oil, but know that all oil goes bad when heated so I rarely fry anything. Then I heard one man say using animal fat was ok for frying, the good old fashioned butter or lard that people used to use, of course everything in moderation. I can't endorse animal fat, it's a personal choice but not if you are Vegan. My son is total vegan, I'm concerned because he eats a lot of soy and all soy is GMO as is corn. I found an excellent Herbalist who has many cleansing recipes and I'd like to share it with you. Find him on YT HerbsPlusBeadWorks. Let me know if you like his stuff and what you think. bye now.

    I replaced the Argav nectar with Raw honey, only because of the higher glycaemic index of the nectar, plus honey is a more natural less calorific sweetener. Honey isn't as sweet so either use more dates in the crust or, and an extra helping of the raspberry sauce. Tried it today, was scrumptious:) Good video

      It came out good. I did have to use more coconut oil and I had to scrape the sides of the processor to get it going. the crust was easy and delicious. The topping; I added as a layer oppose to a drizzle. Mmm The "cheese' was darker at first like tan but once I put it in the freezer and added the raspberry topping it lightened up and looked like a cheesecake. I'll be honest though I was first having trouble with the processor cuz it was so dry I watched another vegan cheesecake video and saw I could add more coconut oil, so I did. And Mmm Mmm Mmm. anyway I hope this helps,
