- Rabbit Side is the residence of 3 people with whom I had a very pleasant visit. they are quite knowledgeable about the desert living environment and have turned their place into a variable art gallery. Though it is their home, they were more than inviting and afforded me the privilege of a tour. in the future I intend to donate one of my paintings to their collection and perhaps they'll place it on display for all visitors to enjoy.
Peter, Jessie and Ryan are pretty amazing. They are truly building an actual desert oasis/art haven, and it's wonderful. As the years go by, if they keep going, they may end up being the best point of interest in Slab City; they're well on their way! I also commend them for the effort they've put in to rescuing the chickens and ducks, and giving them a safe, happy home.
love their set up.
I have seen this guy on multiple channels. Something about the way he talks and walks amongst a personal creation makes him a national treasure. Makes me want to visit Slab City real bad. As a local.
They have an awesome and incredibly impressive little compound going. Vegetation, animals, ponds, fish and art...very cool.
amen
wow the set up they have is hands down the best kept
i’ve seen.. Love everything about it 🖤
I adore their set up!!! If they ever feel the need to leave the desert and venture into the woods, we have 17 acres of nothing but old trees, rocks, creeks and a pond…they would forever be welcome to come here and settle an acre or so! Actually I hope to carve out an educational nature trail and non-denominational chapel here, run on donation…with a small souvenir shop filled with local art and nature-inspired creations. We actually need people like the Rabbits to settle this land and make something of it. Gardening here is a little diff than the desert but we have water catchment and solar opportunities here. We are only limited by our imagination too just like they are. Wonderful video!!!❤
It's so clean and well organized for being outside. Very beautiful!
job well done!
That guy is amazing I watched him and his wife do an interview I was seriously impressed by these people so interesting and very intelligent people
I love the rabbit-side place . They seem to be awesome people.
true facts
Rabbitside is completely inspirational to me..im getting ideas for my place. Im super humbled with how you so welcome people who just come up filming...definitely more tolerance for that sort of presumptive visitor than Id have!
Absolutely Amazing!! Thank you rabbit side for being so hospitable and passing on your knowledge to us…the humility and intelligence in equal and beautiful measures❤️🐇💎
love it! xoxo
I wish I could have met these people before I moved. Absolutely amazing.
i just love this. This shows that not everyone in slabs is a low life or a bum, but some in fact are more time productive and creative and survivalistic than a lot of ppl who live in modern normal society . There is a lot to be learned from these guys here. That could benefit us all. If we are willing to listen look and learn
Rabbitside, beautiful ingenious gardens, bravo!
I wanna live there!!!!!! How relaxing. I wouldnt think this place was in slab city!! Great video!👍
The Homestead they have just Amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I always enjoy a tour thru the Rabbitside. ❤ I fi d so much inspiration!!
You asked great questions. It’s good you expressed like even though these are not “normal” circumstances, it is their home so be respectful of that. Awesome tour very informative.
Peter is very intelligent! Thinking the way he does, knowing that one thing can help something else and not being wasteful..you guys really got it going on.
I wonder if Peter went to college for a certain degree... very aware of everything and how to make things work and super intelligent! I’m amazed.
i just love what you have done to this place. much love and respect from france!
Acquireponics systems is awesome.
There whole home is based on sustainable living, they got there heads on stright .first ppl in these documentaries that i can say are neat and tidy doing things the right way ..well done.kind of reminds e of domes day prepers who think things out .🇦🇺👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I would love to visit them and bring them some random things like artwork, treats for people and their animals. 💛
reversing desertification....dude, you're a god!
Thank you for the tour! I met Peter once, I accidentally stumbled into his camp looking for the owners of the Eco Retreat next door. He was a very nice, hospitable guy. I'd love to visit Rabbitside, get my hand in their dirt. They are inspiring, for sure!
"Thats their rent" 😂 love it!!!!!!
Beautiful...
The man that is behind all the gardening, etc is truly amazing!!
i love their pic of the wooden bridge...it looks real man i would love too see rabbit side in 20 years what a description..the roots are like the IT dept.
LOVE !!!
thers an lot going on there...///very nice layout....looks professional.....well thought out....LOTTA EFFORT/ WENT INTO THAT PLACE...
Love the couple living at rabbit side I wish they made more videos like Cornelius over at the library or she was over there.
They have a really nice collection of antiques..those little antique fans go for about $50-$100..those big dressers go for about $500 easily , they are really nice. I hope no one ever paints the dressers..antiques like that are best left as they were.
They are so cool
You guys are truly amazing, doing such a great job in the middle of the desert . I hope to be able to visit when it isn’t too hot and I’m totally recovered from my broken femur.
Rabbit side very much reminds me of a viking home. Love.
They are amazing
Hello from England #rabbitside
This is my favorite camp! Good video, thanks
That guy has a nice place! I love the ducks, chickens, he needs pigs? Rabbits they are good eating and you can make clothes!
Great Documentary
Probably the most normal people in Slab City
Super awesome cool bro I’m definitely gonna go visit and bring something to donate to there homestead!!!!
These folks seem nice! Not psycho like some others in the area.
I said same
YOU TWO really made it really nice. I love it and you both did a beautiful job. So congratulations.
Pay attention!!!
The description states 3 people live there, and they mentioned her name (Jessie) quite a few times
Love these two! If I ever visit I'm going straight to rabbitside!
It's not a zoo buddy. It's someones house
Omg I would love to visit this guy!! Super interesting and intelligent
What a peaceful place to live!
Thats a beautiful home
Just nice people. I am retired I would love to meet these people they are smart they can make anything work. I may visit sometime rabbit side will be my first stop
Your story is inspiring
They actually have a pretty nice place for being out there and I am surprised people don't rip them off. With all those chickens they can probably afford to move now, just sell their eggs.
Really cool place
Awesome y’all living better then me. Cool...
What’s the relationship between the 3? Friends prior? I see Peter and Jessie are married. Ryan has a ring on his ring finger, is he married or is the bf? Is he related? I’m not being rude about anything I’m wondering and I’m curious.
They did say they're family and that slabs I their home, that made me think the same but at the end of the day what does it matter, I'm here to see what they've built and to get ideas myself.
But I get it, humans are curious lol
I'm curious too... the dynamics and enthusiasm have seemed to changed since beginning (older) videos to the past couple years. And you never see the woman.
These people seem great.
Rabbitside seems chill.. They're inviting
They invited due to force of someone all the sudden being in their yard.
They DO NOT want people stopping by there. They made that very clear
I'd try a mulberry tree, fast growing great shade
The mulberry tree does need water...I'd attempt a pomegranate too, doesnt grow fast but doesnt need water, also an acerola cherry, needs water but loves heat, grows fast and the best source for vitamin C.
Cool
I need to go to rabbit side
Ye raw normal life, dudes
I shere due love how you have maed yure silfe a very gorgeous oasis
Yes I shere due love how sweet
Dude. Your spelling is atrocious
Take a shot every time this dude says " OK"
I've watched all the Rabbitside videos, and man, Ryan and Peter seem really depressed. Is it the heat? Neighbor problems? Too many drop-in visitors? In their initial video they welcomed everyone to stop by and visit them, now they don't seem into it. I hope they didn't have a problem with a tourist.
A lot of it can be heat related. This was just at the tail end of summer and we did not expect this fella that day, he just appeared with a camera rolling and we went with it... probably without coffee yet! Like anyone, there are varying degrees of enthusiasm one will exhume from day to day.
@@RabbitSide Good to know, had me worried. Your place is fantastic AND inspiring. Wishing you three the BEST!
Where is Jessica
Make more of these videos. 18k views!!! oh yeah
I’ve seen several videos showing their camo but they never show inside the camper I would love to see the inside of the Winnebago
That’s true, but honestly it’s just a regular camper trailer with a few added touches. We do have some art inside and have redone the floors so it’s all laminate and no carpet, but otherwise just a living space with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom.
Does anyone know if rabbit site is still there with the original owners? Their camp is so amazing
ok....ok.....ok.....ok....ok
😂 very annoying.....ok
Yall need to remember this is someones house. U cant just go and show up and expect a tour
Yuuuuuuup
Hello Rabbit Side I really enjoy all you have accomplished in such a challenging environment Ryan I heard you mention that the duck eggs are harder than the chicken eggs have any of you tried your talents on doing something creative with the eggs ? Who knows instead of the world looking at Fabrige ? we could have Desbrage good luck guys thanks for sharing.
There’s actually a lady out here that gets duck eggs off of us to do just that! She uses a dremel tool and carves designs in them!
Faberge* it's French, the jeweled eggs that is
You guys should dig a big pond to hold the rain water for use for the garden, I would make a huge rain catchment as big as you can build it, never have too much water especially if you live in the desert
Okay
how do you clean all that
Doesn’t the dust generated by the chickens cause respiratory problems?
besides no rent, you so much open space.
OK...
Curated ! 🤣🤣🤣
Rabbit side is amazing !! How big an area does it cover ???
The structure is around 3000 square feet. Not sure how much land the entire camp covers though.
@@RabbitSide I am in LA. How do you get there?
This place is incredible. I want to sell everything I own and move out here.
“Okay”
im interested on how they get their electricity ?generator? solar ?
We primarily use solar, about 2000W. When it’s too cloudy for too long we have a backup generator. We hope to add wind soon to complete a new overhaul to our power scene to be able to generate power 24/7 and not require such a large (expensive) battery bank.
@rabbitside brilliant
Descent person in indecent situation
When I hear Slab city, I hear outcasts living in a desert with mental problems. Nothing to gawk over lol
okay
So what do you do about a bathroom. And shower?
The trailer has all that in it. We do need to make a solar water heater though.
@@RabbitSide that would be awesome so you can take hot showers 🧼 in the winter Etc I’m truly fascinated by your set. up lovely job
lawnmower? 👍😊 real?
At 18:50, you should have taking the hint to leave dude
Those poor chickens gets done by dogs??
What about scorpions? That is my fear.
They’re not so bad. Ant bites are far worse.
So who gets to live on an actual concrete slab?
Lots of people do. The Range is a music venue here where open mic night happens every Saturday, and it’s on a nice big Slab. The Internet Cafe is on another.
We wanted more space than the slabs provide and the slabs are all closer together than we want to be to other people, so we are on the edge a bit with fewer neighbors.
Is he still with his girlfriend? I didn't see her
They both seem kinda down, wonder if it's the heat or something else...
Yeah she’s still here :) she was just inside with the dogs during this video.
POOR lost souls....pathetic...going noowhere...
Okay
Okay
