I’ve been scoping out the slabs for a few years. I can’t wait to visit and maybe make a little oasis of my own. Life in the world of being a puppet just doesn’t fit me very well. Living like that is my dream. It just seems a better way to live. Cornelius you’re the best love what you do. Keep up the awesome work you do.
Cornelius, I love that u make videos for us to see how amazing slab city is. I would love to take a road trip and camp for a bit. And SOMEHOW bless y'all with supplies to leave behind when I go. BUT I have to be able to hang with u and listen to stories. I'm sure u got a few
I just don't have the words..Fills my heart with joy. Thanks for the vid I have been wanting to see more of those two 8) and their home. Thanks you three.
What an amazing place!! It is amazing what wonderful things you can create when you don’t have to worry about ridiculous building codes and HOA police telling you how many plants you can have in your yard!! The have created a masterpiece in the middle of the desert!! I would love to stay at their B&B!! Cheers
That is a very awesome oasis’s in the desert 🌵 very pretty space. Very calming with the water and ponds. I would be there when they open the bed and breakfast. 😎
Depending on what kind of resources we can get for it over the summer, we're hoping to have that cabin operational for the next winter season. Then for sure, come on down!
Love the rabbitside art kingdom ! I really had no idea these guys had it so together .. CooL! Ain't see u around the utube word much , you doin ok corn ?
Wow, I've been living out here for almost 4 years now, yet I had no idea that this was here. lolol... Maybe I should get out more...? Thanks for sharing the tour of those nice folks digs.
You sound like us, home bodies! We get mistaken for newcomers often because we don't really get out and mingle much. We'll do the occasional Range or chili night, but otherwise stay home and work on all this. If you ever venture outside yourself, feel free to come by for a visit!
There’s three of us here and yeah, we live here full time. We have multiple neighbors near by. The area of the slabs we are in is full of great people working hard!
I am literally sitting here watching this with rubber banded green hands and a lapful of textiles (read: old rescued Goodwill clothes) wondering how I'm going to create enough to stay sane when I hit the road soon and thinking of essentials: dye pot, vinegar, hempwick. Thrift stores, fire, water, and plants are available here and there lol.
Thanks for the vid Corn, RabbitSide seems to be coming up more and more on my feed... Ryan, Jessie and Peter have got it on! Oasis in the desert... luv the animal psychology... also shows how foraging for stuff, cataloging it, using it later helps... I grew up in a kinda 1800's style home in New England where everything was saved, every scrap, every piece of string... BUT, when you wanted to do something, you always had what you needed...
Wait is Ryan actually Peter or are they twins???? Or am I tripping? That guy was Peter on the other video of Rabit Side by a girl biking across America. Mind blown!
@@truem4329 thank-you - thought I was going crazy too since (like you) had watched that other same video just yesterday (really enjoyed it a lot) and then this clip showed up in my feed and clicked on it - and was wondering if they had pranked the interviewer or if the guy who said he worked at Walmart in the other video looked exactly like this guy - or I am tripping. EDIT - PS thanks Sue Mitchell whose explanatory comment I saw after the fact
That place is awesome and I just subbed to the channel..They have some really cool art and their place us badass...Thanks for taking us on your little journey and introducing us to Ryan and Jessie...
Cornelius Vango I love your videos and this one on the fam Rabbit Ranch trips me out bc its entertaining to watch with no special equipment. I can only imagen when you do get better equipment how much more awesome your short films will be. Keep them coming you are inspirational😇
They do some genius stuff over there!!! The way they use plants to cool their place is crazy smart! Their hydroponics is amazing too!!! Plus they seem like super cool people. Great video Bro! I am sure visiting their site gave you some inspirational ideas :)
Thanks. This just makes me think about terra forming. I mean, its on a much smaller scale but look how much life is thriving in that once desolate space.
I just watched one of those “Real Stories” videos yesterday showing about 10 people living at slab city and they obviously did not include these people or this place and now I can see why. These people are working hard and doing what they can to thrive where the people shown lay back, live in a step above squalor and then get portrayed the norm there. Now I’m wondering how many more people have homes like the one shown in this video. Are there entire families with small children or mostly couples like the ones shown (mostly curious as I recently had my first child with my partner and like seeing the ideas people come up with to benefit their kids)? How many people around there run some type of business? Finally I just gotta say I love how everyone is toking on something in this video. Lol
I would love to visit you guys. This is truly inspiring! The beauty you two have woven into Rabbitside is both breath taking and calming! Thank you for taking such beautiful care of the animals ❤
Nicely done Corn , after seeing videos by others that seem to want to show just the creepy side of Slab city these nice folks have really created a sustainable life in the desert .
THAT is fucking alot of things good. What an incredible, beautiful place.I am a million times a million million IMPRESSED right now.Ive got 2 words to describe what I've just seen on my phone screen.Amazing and Beautiful. All you need now is a home brewery, and fields of poppies.I could survive there. You guys are ridiculously fucking cool.
I lived in desert hot springs for 5 consecutive years and 120 degree days were normal in the summer. I learned about swamp coolers and they work beautifully if you've a house. I'm so engrossed in your ingenuity and abilities, and what you do for you and yours. Kudos to you for a great job. Live long and prosper.
@@RabbitSide do you ever eat crickets or grasshoppers yourself? Not kidding...I love eating fried spicy crickets down in Mexico. If I had a way to easily catch a bunch of crickets or grasshoppers I might experiment with cooking them. But catching them is a lot of effort out in the hot sun.
First and foremost, I want to say thanks C.V. for shooting and sharing this video! Also, I want to thank to Ryan, Jessie and Peter for a tour of their beautiful and eco-friendly home. The living quarters is an utterly amazing creation of love and ingenuity. Thank you for sharing!
Their lay-out just goes on and on. One big room after the other. Kinda reminds me of the out-door and garden/plant department at Home Depot. Very impressive for sure. Am surprised you have that much water on hand....desert, you know. But made it into a mini-farm, homestead. And NO $$$'s for the land. Now that kicks ass. Job well done and GREAT interview Cornelius.
These people are cool. if everyone was like this it would be a model community
They've made themselves an eclectic and functional oasis in the middle of the desert. Incredibly beautiful and inspiring.
Soooo Cooool ! Real hippies. I love seeing people DO things. Cool art.
Wow....what a labor of love! Very impressive. Hat's off to you folks who spend the Summer months there. Much tougher than I am.
They have made a true paradise out there! 💚💚
Better than them being homeless in a big Cali city.
It's beautiful what we can do with "trash" and imagimation, they have created something special. 🤘
Awesome interview.
Paradise on earth... peace
Seen a couple vids on Rabbitside. This is the best one yet. Fukn love seeing this ambitious geniousness at work. So envious of their abilities
I neglected to give the other two the credit they also deserve. Indeed it's teamwork.
All THREE of you rock!!!
Rock on.........
Thanks, that's so incredibly true. No single one of us could achieve what we are doing, it takes the team.
This place is awesome! Smart, kind hearted, well spoken, and truly amazing individuals!
Rabbitside is by far the most amazing, beautiful place in slab city!! In my opinion anyway.. I'd love to live there!
Wow. Nice energy folks. Thanks for the shoot.
I think it would take months of constant study to appreciate this
It took months of constant study to make it as well :) Thanks for the kind words

any can build a nice house, but try building a home with trash - so darn awesome what you have done!
If you screw the jar lids to the underside of a table, you can screw the jar into the lid to save shelf space.
Screwing a hole in a canned jar will allow oxygen in and it's over.
A pond and a cascading waterfall would look great in that setup. And the setup has a wonderful garden. I'd like to work there.
Great space they've made there! I enjoyed seeing Rabbitside, didn't know much about it but heard about it many times. ❤from Ohio
I hope no one wrecks their place. Amazing work

Love to be apart of this!
I’ve watched loads of videos and documentaries on this place. If I wasn’t in the uk I’d be there.
You guys should add melons to the garden or what ever open spaces are around.. they spread out and take up space but do so well in the desert climate.
