So the last coat is poly, but the primer coat is... what acrylic? I'm asking cause the primer coat is what really started to make water based stain color pop, and that last poly coat made it vibrant. Can you do a poly on top of an acrylic?
i have a basement like this, but it some times gets some water stains in spring, so im assuming theres a bit of water coming threw the cement floor, will this stop water from coming threw? or would i be better off doing an epoxy floor over the floor?
Scott, thanks for the great question. He is installing the Nohr-S Polyurea Coating Kit, Clear, this kit includes the primer you see being used. Not all coatings require this, many require just 2 coats.
Also, I seen in the video with the second coat he applies it to all the floor and on top of the first coat,it was said he used multiple gallons; so does that mean after applying those he does another coat but does the 1st color follow the same pattern as the 1st or does he change it? Not sure if you know what I mean just really curious before I do my own

If I use 2 different colors does the dark have to go on first or the lighter color ? And I was told by a concrete stain company to wait till first one dry completely before putting the second coat on is this what he did ?
Typically go light to dark depending on your accents and such . Your eyes are naturally drawn to the lighter spots. Keep in mind you can always go darker but once you go too dark theres no going back.
Thanks for your comment. We have (3) grades of Anti-Skid (HDGRIP SOFT-SKID) that can be mixed into the last coat to help against slippery conditions, if present.

We now have TerraCotta or Sienna Leather. Yes We discontinued that color as we changed the formula to a much better much more user-friendly product.

Kevin: The first coat is actually a WB Epoxy Primer (NohrS® ClearPrime - WB), it can be used stand-alone using two coats if desired.

It will not, however if you use HD6500EXT as your sealer, it will tolerate moisture.

He applied (1) primer-coat and then (1) coat of polyurea.
As far as the stain... he applied the darker color first (red-oak) then the lighter (amber-old version, I would use brown or bronze today)

Either is acceptable. Not really a wrong way to do it.

Yes, use our HD6500EXT Sealer vs. what you see in the video.
The stain will do well in exterior application as log as you keep up with the sealer.

Hello Michelle! He used a buffer with a diamond pad prior to this step. The trick is to make the floor pourous which as you can see he succeeded.

The bucket is used for the run off. So you don't drip on the floor

Why aren’t you wearing a mask or respirator?
Linda the stain is WB, so is the primer. He wears PPE when he gets to the polyurea which is a solvent based product, good catch!
