Finaly it's good to see who makes these delicious pies. I had one at a WV PETRO TRUCKSTOP in Ramadan and after driving two hours I had a bite and man I almost turned around.
Nice! The best food is usually in the most unlikely places. We found an excellent fried chicken served in a rest stop convenience store and people from my office in San Francisco, all talked about it. 3000 restaurants in San Francisco, at the time, and they loved chicken.
You can! I called the number in the description which isn't the business number by the way and they are mailing me 10 cherry and 10 apple fried pies! From Texas to New Mexico with love! They have 11 different flavors. The best thing is they seem like really nice folks the lady who answered was so friendly and helpful. I sure am happy to support their business and can't wait to taste those buys. Will be back to update once I taste em!
..........This sure makes me hungry for a good ole fashioned fried pie.....My grandmother used to make peach and apple fried pies and I bet these pies would be great too....Many thanks ...
In Argentina we call them empanadas, and we have a place that makes them the same way you can find pizza in new york, everywhere! We have a lot of different fillings and types of crust, but Anna's seem much more flakier than ours, we don't have them like that! I want to try them!
But Linda, you can learn how to make those delicious fried pies on your own easy enough if you can make pie dough. And I'll bet your family will love them!
Geez, how I love fried pies. Yes, I'm from Texas!!!!! My mom made the world's very best sugar/cinnamon fried pies in the winter. Nothing like it on a cold winter day!
I think this is wonderful, especially the family doing it together, I tried to make some last year, and they disintegrate in the oil, lol....so it's great to see this!!!! I love the machine press they have, they are definately onto something!!!!!!
This just appeared in my timeline today 6/3/21. I live back East where they just moved from. I'd love to try one of their pies!🥧 Especially impressed that while prepping & cooking the food that they're wearing hair bonnets & gloves!👍🏾
For those you wondering “are these pies really that good?”, I can tell you first hand that these pies are THAT GOOD. The flakiness of the crust is delicious and makes it different.

@@Jesuslovesyou8525 Well sort of, they aren't exactly set up to ship out the pies. They are really wonderful people so when I called she mailed me some. It didn't turn out so well tho because the post office lost my pies terrible mail man for over a month and a half. When I got them they had perished. 😫
AS A FRIED PIE 🥧 JUNKIE THE WORD “ADDICTIVE “ Comes to mind ! The local 7-11 in Bell 🔔 county carries my fix I don’t buy one I get one of each flavor 😊😮😊
I had never heard of fried pies until now. Sounds like something I'd like to try. Scottish background say that anything you can fry has got to be good !
Wife picked some up from the local farmers market.. Blackberry, cherry, and peach. Oh my..... DELICIOUS!!! The peach flavor remains and I'm looking to pick some up for the freezer.
Joshua My grandmother taught me to mix the fat and flour together with my fingers, you’re looking for about a pea sized lumps or smaller. Keep a bowl of ice water nearby the warmer your hands are the faster the fat will melt and you don’t want it to melt at all. But keep your hands dry too. And when you roll it out try not to work it to much. Sorry I don’t remember the ratio
Never had one they look so nice.... Fried pies could be my new business venture in Ireland we ain't got em and I know they would love em 🍀🍀 Any recipes
There used to be a place called Bruce's pies in Austin Texas write-off tillary Street there was some good pies they went out of business there were good
Leave it to ya Texas Country Reporter, first you bring us the chicken-fried bacon and now these YUMMY LOOKIN' Mom's Fried Pies! Wish we had him here in se Utah! :)

I'm wondering if Anna has had any thoughts of selling franchises? Or course the franchisees would be bound to nondisclosure agreements for her recipe, but I see $$$ opportunity and money 💰 in the family's future if they expand nationwide. She could even train franchise owners in her basement, lol. I don't think a huge location would be needed? Mom's Baked pies could be the next Dunkin Donuts??? Only in America can this happen, I love this country...🌴😎🌴
Since Mrs. Bairds' has severely limited their distribution of baked snack goods, Mom's should expand. An actual factory would give them a return on their investment very shortly, especially if they expanded their product line outside of fried pies.

Oh, the fried pie memories! Thanks for that! 😎
This is how families should be. A unit.
$1.79 a pie is such a fair price. I'd buy 10, I love fried pies.

These are mostly sweet. Apple, chocolate, pecan, pineapple, lemon, etc. Aren't empanadas mostly savory?
@@adc2327 They can be both.

Maybe more glutinous flour was needed? Or another binder.
These are absolutely delicious!! Great to see you in Waxahachie.
Had them in Houston years ago and they were putting savory stuff in them like ham and cheese. Was like a fresh hot pocket.
Or like an empanada!
That's genius...

Reminds me of when I had to be a good kid so my Grandmother would fry me / us some pies .
My mom made these when I was a child in the 50's. My mouth STILL waters at the thought of them!
So why dont you make them then
Me to. My momma used to make them by peach. That is all I remember. I wished that I lived up there.
Do you take orders over the phone and then mail them out
Geez, $1.80 that is a steal. You could sell these for $4 each all day long at fairs and festivals around here.
if you buy it at 1.80, you will buy many and buy it everyday.
What type of sos inside pies.
Chocolate or something else?
Flaky pastry is achieved by using a combination of very cold shortening and butter or lard if you aren't scared of it..lol
Thank you!
can you give some insight on how to prepare it if you don't mind?
