    The Spurs have a good offense this season led by DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge, and in today's video I breakdown their spacing and movement. They don't pass like they used to, but they emply great offensive principles to create areas to attack. NBA, playoffs, Gregg Popovich.

      Enthusiastic Zestful Villainy so true. Low IQ players and street players all they see is isolation and dunks. High IQ players consist of spacing, floor balance, shooting and creating open shots.

      Yes, it's about generating max number of high percentage looks and minimizing these on defense. That's how you win playoff games.

      If you look closely to this series, you clearly see that spurs relies heavily on Lamarcus and DeRozan (and sometimes White) taking hard mid range shots all the time. And the actions setting up theese shots are pretty much standard nba things. So idk wtf is this guy talking about. Although when we compare this series to okc-portland one, we can clearly see much more disciplined basketball in general both from spurs and nuggets.

    Hey guys, to any new subscribers, this is type of video I really take pride in. Where I can showcase a good team and teach fundamentals of team ball like spacing and cuts at the same time. That being said, there will be plenty of game specific playoff breakdowns coming up too! (And a better mic at some point)

      Haha I literally came to the comments to say you need a new mic. You've got the content and the brain. I think what you need to keep growing is production quality, consistency, and a little bit more clickbait (i.e. put something about the nba playoffs in the title because that's a buzzword)

      His foot speed is slow and he was going for a charge but immediately knew the mistake. On defense he’s a snail but oddly on offense he’s super nimble... mentally he’s just not into defense and it shows, he has a lot of growing to do to become a more complete player.

    • @anthonynorman7545
      @anthonynorman7545 5 років тому +2

      @@PodiumTuningRacing offense has a different kind of movement. Jokic is able to change speed, feint moves, and do unconventional things to keep defenders off-balance. On defense quickness is more reliant on pure athleticism: even if you know where your matchup is going doesn't mean you can get there.
      Yes he still has room to improve on defense though.

    The fact that Derozen can't shoot 3s is making spurs predictable. Too often he gets stuck when guys just pack the lane and he has to force a bad pass

    • @blankx15
      @blankx15 5 років тому +26

      Yeah despite how great this is, DeRozan becomes predictable. When Mills and White handles the ball or initiate the offense it becomes much smoother, since this pick and pop is much more effective with the threat of 3 even if you don't intend to shoot a 3.

    The only reason this is effective is because denver refuses to switch on everything. This is why have a mobile center that can play defense makes your defensive rating go all the way up, all teams exploit the mismatch with a pick and roll to start their offense. If you switch on everything with guys that can guard 1 through 5, the offensive scheme doesn’t work too well anymore.
