It underscores the importance for leaders to adapt their strategies and expectations to the realities of a world where global interest and the potential for resistance are significantly amplified by technological and social advancements.
There is no resistance. Putin simply does not want to destroy Ukraine, his own country. This is a domestic issue that neither NATO with their small arms nor US with their imaginary might, can solve....
He is the ones that is ahed, the politicians in europe and the us are those with the cold war mentality. He is afraid of his nation being ransacked by said west because he has seen what they have done for the past 24 years.

When I read about the collapse of the Soviet Union, I correct the comment. It didn't collapse, it was perestroika, the brilliant, peaceful reorganization and liberation of eastern Europe by Mikael Gorbachev. Perestroika is Vladimir Putin's weak spot, a Russian history he cannot accept.

There is a big difference between the two conflicts that is not mentioned enough. Ukraine is a sovereign country and has been for a while, which was not the case with Chechnya. Also, the international context is very different - it was also not mentioned enough. One of the first steps in successful negotiations is agreeing on a few facts. I don't think that goal has been achieved yet. 🤔
@@pcopeland15 Well there was Minsk I and Minsk II, as well as the negotiations in Istanbul in early 2022 when agreement was nearly reached between Russia and Ukraine only for negotiations to be ended by Ukraine under pressure by the US (with Boris Johnson as the messenger).
