Hope you guys enjoyed this! It took 76 hours to edit and I'm just happy to finally share one of the best experiences I've ever had. I still have a ton of footage left over, so let me know if you'd be interested in seeing more detailed ~30min episodes of each part of the whole ride! In any case, thanks a lot for watching.
Aaron, please do! Please share as much as you can. I’m a newbie rider who drives a custom CT100 to work and some occasional “long ride”. But ever since I saw Zach’s trip to Khardung La, I knew that I wanted to ride forever. Khardung La is still a long way to go for me, but seeing the journey through the lenses of people like you drives me to work harder everyday. Thank you for existing.

I rode bike 3 times all over ladakh. I went in October all three times and it was very dangerous. We rode even during the night. It’s a kickass experience. ❤
Hi Aaron!! This trip is so inspirational!! Can you perhaps do a video on how to organize such a ride, the logistics involved, how much money one needs to prepare and which guide to take?? This has now become my top item in my bucketlist!!!

Btw, I know some parts could have used more info or narration for context so please don’t hesitate to comment any questions. I’ll make a video addressing any/all of those soon
These tough roads were made & maintained by BRO, border roads organisation of the Indian Army. Its very tough to maintain due to landslides, rockfalls. You may hv seen many their humorous message boards on the way.
Yeah, tbh the altitude is pretty challenging. It's not really so much shortness of breath as it just feeling tired, groggy, sometimes dizzy, and just not being able to focus on things very well. But totally manageable and definitely worth it!
You can purchase compact oxygen cylinder at medical shops in Leh before travelling to high altitude. It is created specifically for those who are not acclimatised to the conditions. It helps in taking away altitude sickness.
Hi Aaron. Wow, what an amazing trip/journey! Man I wish you'all lived closer to me as I would love to hang out with your group. You guys all get along so good. Glad you & the group had a wonderful time. Glad to hear from you as it has been awhile since your last video. Have a beautiful day!! Cheers!! Illinois, USA
Haha wanting to be hung out with is the highest praise a man can ask for! ;) Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching. Pretty lucky to have such a good mix with this group, made the memories all the better.
I love the Philippines . Thanks for visiting my country and hoping you’ll be back soon. I can’t wait to go back to the beautiful beaches of Palawan as well . ITS ALWAYS FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES ❤
Thanks! A lot of cameras were used by a number of riders: Sony A7IV, DJI Osmo Action 3, DJI Osmo Action 1, two GoPros, Sony ZV1, two Insta 360s, three iPhones, a DJI Mini 3 Pro... Possibly a few more.
Great travel log, you did some great rides! Did you get any video of the Camels at Hunder? I am impressed that they allowed you to come out from Pangong to Chushul. They didn't allow me to ride it. The road through Spiti valley really nice, but parts are really technical. For your next trip, you should ride from Manali to Leh! It is a fantastic ride.
What's funny and sad is that we arrived just when the camels were on break! We were supposed to come back an hour later but after landing at camp no one had the will to gear back up anymore, haha. Oddly I don't recall encountering any checkpoints coming through Chushul! Spiti Valley and Manali are definitely on my list! Along with the route in Zanskar that Itchy Boots just posted a video about. Such a wonderful place to ride, hard to beat.
If you ever come in india again then visit Uttarakhand , india . There is char dham yatra [four holy places ] that will take 10 -12 days to complete even more but you will enjoy more than Ladakh tour , roads are very very good , greenery is just fantastic it’s like Switzerland of India . Ladakh is desert but Uttarakhand isn’t and it is mountainous region and very very good people . There is 3 prominent trek also , if you have time then go for it also .
19:09 believe me if someone had shown me this in my childhood and had told me that these riders went to Mars for a bike trip, I'd have believed him. Hope you enjoyed your time in India, Ladakh really feels something out of this world
It's a long cherished dream of mine to go there on a bike. Friends who have gone have said it's a tough ride but it's an adventure for a lifetime. The visuals of the places and you guys laughing just make me want to go there even more
How did you guys cope with altitude breathing coming from near sea level Phillipines?. Umling la is as tall as tall as the tallest peaks in most continents
It was difficult! It was a combination of acclimatization, medicine, and having to take things very slowly. No big efforts at the highest altitudes. Descending as soon as possible was also essential.
You've had the unique experience of riding multiple different himalayans at this point, in your opinion, has the level of quality been consistent on them? Or have you ridden one that seemed to have quirks when another bike didn't?
This is a great question. I think the main difference can be felt between the old, carbureted Himalayans and the new fuel-injected ones. The old ones definitely feel a lot rougher around the edges and the rear shocks tend to sink, because I can flat foot old Himalayans, but new ones I can't. As far as quality control is concerned, it's honestly hard to tell because rental bikes have seen so much punishment. One of the things that suffers the most in my perspective is the stability, but probably nothing a proper wheel balancing can't fix unless the frame is found to be bent I guess. But from my own subjective experience, the overall ride character is consistent between same generation Himalayans.
@@Ride_XP Thanks so much for your detailed and thoughtful response. I don't have a ton of money for my next bike but RE seems like a very smart choice, really appreciate your help.
If purchasing an old Himalayan, I'd definitely ask the service history of the steering head bearings. Usually these need replacement every 10,000kms, that's just how it is.

Hello friend, I want to tour the Himalayas this year on a motorcycle, what is the best time to visit that region? Greetings from Argentina!

Hi Aron! Was wondering how did your RPHA11 perform for this ride? Looking for a all around helmet that can do everything. Noticed that you have been using it on road and this time off road and adventure. I ride upright only. No tucked positions so wondering how it works for you.
As always loved this video. Your FJ video led me to watch this vid. Superb including the naration at the last part as always.
Thanks for coming over to this video! I'm actually using the RPHA70, which is the more upright version, so it's a sport touring helmet vs the 11 which is a sport helmet.
Long story short, super happy with it. The lightness of the carbon version suits me very well. It's also very quiet.
I've used it off road in the heat and that's where it's not the best, but the light weight partially makes up for it. I'd recommend the Rpha70 as one of the best value premium all-rounders.
Nice video, loved each part of it as a motor cycle enthusiast ❤ Cheers! Hope you plan more fun filled trips back in India soon!

is that 249g drone weight still a policy in India?
I shot and brought the 249g drone for this trip.. I think the policy will depend on military activities in the area. They were relaxed on this - never questioned in the airport, just have to show all of your electronic gadgets at the scanner. The problem in northern India is that there is a flight altitude height limit - it barely clears a normal size tree.
