I went to Uttarkhand last year after debating about going or not and it was the MOST peaceful place I have ever been to, almost as if in some parts you feel like you're on another planet. At night, the sky is so clear because of no pollution so stars and moon seem so close especially cause you're around 15,000 feet above sea level. I have been to Switzerland also, but something is special about Uttarkhand that cannot be replicated. Its the ambience, the peacefulness and fuel for the soul. Maybe I feel this way because its my motherland but I don't know, I tell everyone you must for once visit Uttarkhand.
I agree. I live in Switzerland - the problem is Switzerland might be beautiful but it feels hollow on the spiritual side - the spiritual energy from the great Rishis of this land blessed the mountains with their great energy - this is the energy you feel in India.
i am swiss, and i was thinking wow this looks like switzerland...but that comment here is right....in switzerland this special deep energy is missing....that's why i came to the Himalayas.....😍
@Rishab Dhar Switzerland too is beautiful, both places are but its may be because Switzerland now is too commercialized so many visitors but nonetleless its amazing.
From the ancient time of India and from the birth of oldest religion in the world , Hinduism , Himalaya has been mentioned as center of spirituality. This tradition continued after birth of Buddhism also and spread in Tibet and other places from there. And not only that , Himalaya actually give life to India because If Himalaya would not exist , the cold flow of air from Siberia and Mongolia would make India unfertile and harsh weather to live. I read it somewhere that India exist because Himalaya exist.
You should check out Ronnie & Barty's youtube channel...they make incredible travel vlogs o Himalayas which are like cinematic masterpieces....highly underrated channel and a must for nature porn lover like us..LOL

Some of the best adventures I've ever had was visiting the Himalayas, from Badrinatha, Kedarnatha, Gangotri and Yamunotri, and places in between, whether it was in great weather, or in bad with landslides on the roads, and lots of temples, and more than I can say in this short comment, but it was trips that I can never forget. India has everything. Your video is a reminder to me of all the beauty that I saw up there on the way to and in the Himalayas, and how cold it can get. Lots of fun. I have to admit, I've never seen Gangotri when everything was closed. That would be very different, but it depends on the season. But it closes down for about 6 months, but I did find a few sadhus who stay there, and in places like Badrinath, for the whole winter. Whew! I couldn't do that.

I would like to share something Gabi, Till some 50yrs ago there was no proper roads to go to Himalayas, it was considered to be a very hard but full spiritual Journey. In Hindu families old aged people use to travel from all over India and it use to take 2 to 3 months to return covering Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. People going were given special treat before leaving as many of them could not return due to hard journey of the mountain (many fell down to the river as no roads and only steap walking track). But it was more natural path than now.
this road is just a tiny tiny tiny sliver of the beautiful Himalayas. a life time is not enough to see the mountains in Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. 🇮🇳❤️

@sabrina huhu it's still a picturesque place to visit, Switzerland is really beautiful also.
@@juliop7991 yes it's still absolutely beautiful🥰 just different.... i wish to visit Gangotri too...😍 maybe this year.....🙏🏻
From the ancient time of India and from the birth of oldest religion in the world , Hinduism , Himalaya has been mentioned as center of spirituality.
Hands down the most beautiful travel vlog I have ever seen. I had tears in my eyes watching this. Mother India really rewards you. God Bless India🙏🏻

So glad to know that my mother land has treated you well. Keep visiting us. India is not only Goa, Delhi and Mumbai. Its beauty is in its villages. I live in Shillong, North Eastern part of India. My place is called "The Scotland of East". Pay a visit to the NE region too.

Tehri dam has a special place in my heart. My grandfather was one of the Civil engineer behind it’s construction. He was a chief engineer in Irrigation dept of then Uttar Pradesh. My father and his siblings spent the better part of their childhood in Uttarakhand in the town of Maneri. All of them have such strong connections to the hills of Uttarakhand.

I have a painful experience with Tehri. We took a bike trip to Gangotri via Tehri and I have seen old men crying and rolling on the roads... as the water rose 😢
My personal experience. When I first visited foothills of Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh. I cried tears of joy, just the nature, the joy, the energy, the enthusiasm. I cry every time when I see these places are in India and not in Europe ❤️❤️

Hey Gabi, enjoying your videos, I travelled India first time in 1974, amazing to see the changes over the years, thankfully , the essential things have not changed that much, always the ancient spiritual land. When you tire of the grind of traveling Indian roads, head to Goa to rejuvenate, there’s a cafe in Anjuna owned by an Italian guy where you can get the real espresso, happy trails !

This is completely motorable and my Mother in law had done it at your age in a saree . So don't let go without trying

During winter the Maa Ganga statue is shifted to another location and the temple is shut down.
The trekking are to the Gaumukh - snout of the Bhagirathi river on the Gangotri glacier. However, foreigners require special permit, if I’m not wrong. Gangotri temple to Gaumukh is about 18 km, in between there is a place called Bhojbasa where there are some staying provisions in tents etc.
In between Uttarkashi and Gangotri, you missed the Gangani Hot Springs.

I would like to share something Gabi,
Till some 50yrs ago there was no proper roads to go to Himalayas, it was considered to be a very hard but full spiritual Journey.
I am seeing and feeling my India through your eyes. Thank you for your incredible videos. I am hoping to explore and experience it myself in real at some point in life.
I regret that Ive been there. Because now I keep thinking about returning there again all the time. I havent been where he was, but I traveled from south to north for 3 months and I love the people the food and the hospitality.
India is magic and divine
