Is this Prog? Did I prog good? ➤ Thanks to Neural DSP for providing the plugin and sponsoring the video! More information and free 14-day trial of the Archetype Petrucci plugin here: neuraldsp.com/plugins/archetype-petrucci
You're the reason I got a quad cortex. I can't remember which video but you were just talking about how it could really be a game changer and let me tell you hawhutt it is! Can't wait to get this plug in and I hope neural makes some more physical gear that would absolutely rock.
Best amp sim I've ever heard or played through. It's WAY better than anything else from NeuralDSP, and the stuff it comes with is incredible value for money.
Other UA-camrs: we’re gonna make the most epic, complex demos Hunter: hey man I’m gonna copy paste some riffs and just mimic the polyrhythm thing Hahahaha I love this channel. But the demo track was actually sick
Awesome track Hunter 🤘 I bought this after watching a few demos. Liked the tones and the amount of stuff included. This is the first guitar plugin I've purchased and wanted something with a lot of variety and this had a kinda jack of all trades vibe. Also helped that I got it during their recent 50% off sale.
Dude, you’re too hard on yourself. For someone who supposedly doesn’t know much about writing prog songs that demo track was killer. I’d be thrilled with myself if I could write something that good on the fly.
I love the transpose, the doubler and the room mic on this plugin, it really is cool ! But in the end, I like the tone I get from Archetype Gojira more ! Or maybe the Petrucci is just too complexe for me to use :P
You make some sick videos mate! Thank you for inspiring us man! Funny thing was you saying the word f**k like 3000 times and then censoring the last time you said sh$t hahah
One doubt, for practicing at home, would be better a multiefex pedal, or an Archetype plug in? for both cases I have good headphones and decent speakers...
How does he get the tone to be so crisp? I've demoed some of the neural stuff and it does sound good but to me it doesn't sound as crisp as his does here. Sometimes it can sound a little muffled and muddy, it can sound good though and maybe I'm not taking enough time to dial it in? Does the interface matter ?
Do you have to have a DAW for this? I think they should make this in a small travel box form with about 5 watts stand alone for hotels and the ability to hook up for clinics or gigs
That was me actually! That was all done by hand with one of the Logic synths…. I regret mentioning the idea to Hunter after spending so much time on it 😅
I was wondering about this too. But logistically, the pedal would be better because it is hardware doing ONE THING. With a computer, you introduce latency depending the power of your workstation. This plugin actually made me start a search for a Drop pedal!
$168 for a plugin? LMAO they're out of their minds, for something that will only sound great on recording or with headphones but not real live playing, as no stereo monitors is going to recreate having a power amp and guitar cabinet, these plugins are great for youtube recording or headphone practice, but that's it and $170 for just ONE tone? you might as well skip all these plugins and buy a neural quad cortex or a used Helix and have hundreds of tones, have the option to connect to a power amp and real guitar cabinet. With the plugins, you're bound to your computer
These are all midi controllable now, so you aren't just working with one tone in a live setting. And 90% of the bands out there have moved onto using computers on stage with plugins. I will agree, it is expensive, but again, you aren't getting one tone.
@@LincolnAlice how are you going to connect a Neural DSP plugin standalone computer app to a physical power amp and guitar cabinet? You can produce live sound with monitors, but even the most expensive monitor will never sound like a guitar cabinet because they have no power amplifier and the physical characteristic of a wooden enclosed guitar cabinet. Now, if you're happy with playing with studio monitor or headphones at home, that's fine, my criticism is for the price. $170 is way too much. You could get a used axe FX for $800-900 or a used Helix for $1000, you could get an Axe FX FM3, which is $1000 new and it has all the tones the Axe FX 3 has. Why waste almost $200 on an overpriced plugin. Even with the Axe FX or Helix, a lot of people just use them with FRFR powered speakers, which is better than some monitors, but still not the same as the real deal. I'm not saying these plugins don't sound good or don't serve a purpose, but the price is ridiculous, these plugins are mainly for people who play at home or practice OBVIOUSLY and they want you to pay a professional price that's why you have pay each time for each plugin rather than them creating, for example, a combination of all plugins with a discounted price or a standalone app like BIAS where all the plugins are already included and any plugin that is added, it will be included for an extra small charge or free. If you want all their plugins you'd have to spend like $1000+, could've just bought an Axe fx fm3 and have hundreds of plugins and not have to deal with a computer

Now you can transpose as low as me, bb
Me to Hunter: “Hey I can make an 8-bit intro, that would be cool!
Me after 2 hours working on the intro: “What have I done?”
Luke, awesome on the 8-bit intro and Hunter, that was one of the most inspired tracks you have ever written man. I loved it.
Thanks! We thought this was a good one to experiment with and it came out pretty well. Glad you dig it, too!
Thanks dude!
It's never a good day for my wallet when a new Neural DSP plugin comes out...
That octave drop is nasty, I love it
It's pure, unadulterated filth
Love the vid man
Thanks, man!
Way better than most of us could have done.
Damn notification be crazy

Great vid! Thanks!!!!
TFW a Discord regular mentioned you were listening to Dream Theater shortly after release and predicted you’d demo 🤯🤯
Lol yeah Discord can tell what’s coming next from what I’m listening to on Spotify 😂
@@agufish another reason to be in the discord 😎 Members can be able to predict the next vid
Also new animated banner for the discord went through 🙌
early squad. I can already tell this will be fun.
Oooohh shiit
The funny thing about Prog is that it sounds very pop-like, somehow making it very accessible

Pringle doesn't like prog

Bein a bit of a prog kid...I think your attempt was F$#@ing Awesome!
Dude that track was badass!
The songwriting process: "fuuuuuuuuck" and then you have a song.
Essentially, yes 😂
That demo track was sick
Awsome ....I wish I could try it.. I have a katana 100 but no tone studio I jst use it how it came. Better than what I had but not as fun as this
Killer demo track as always bro.

That track is lit 🔥 Which drum library did you use in that video please tell us 🤍
By far the the funniest video you’ve made! “Fuck”😂😂😂
Good job.
Today's episode is sponsored by the pirate word "PHUCK..."
Recommend me a midi expression pedal that I can use with these type of plugins. Thank you
+1
I just got an m-audio exp - quite affordable, on Amazon, works well for me.

I should also mention I plug the pedal into my axe i/o - I assume you have an interface with an input for a pedal?

What did you record with? Logic? And how do you use this plugin to record?

Hunter: "If Alvin and Chipmunks were a guitar."

great video, hunter. what's the software you used to make that chiptune intro for that demo? that riff slapped btw

@@LukeDKramer It sounded sick honestly :)

Could you compare digitech drop with transpose of this plugin? Are they on same level?

6:50 verve?!
Look up protest the hero's bloodmeat for some brutal prog riffs.
how can i connect my guitar to pc? can i use regular usb to guitar cord?
You will want an interface, and you can get a solid, reliable one with good converters for under $200.
That was a lot of uncensored F-bombs! Not that I mind them, I just find the censor noise thing funny.
Literally. Every. Sentence. Is. A. Separate. Cut. A poly sci major. Well... I guess I'm too old :) The Demo sounds great though!
Dang $150 plug in!
Now Neural is increasing their prices $50 for plugins? Hard pass.
